And, finally ... 'much the same as all the rest' ... Daily Express Headline; says; 'The hunt for Madeleine McCann switched to Belgium last night after a series of “highly credible” sightings. A young girl matching four-year-old Madeleine’s description was spotted with a suspicious-looking couple at a restaurant in the town of Tongeren near the Dutch border. The couple, a brown-haired British woman and a “swarthy” Dutchman, fled before they could be challenged.Police in Belgium are taking the reports seriously and have released a computer image of the man. The suspect is described as 6ft tall, around 40, with short black hair, bushy eyebrows, several days’ stubble and a pointed chin. He spoke Flemish with a Dutch accent. His companion is about 25 with tanned skin. Madeleine’s parents Kate and Gerry are being kept informed.
Witnesses spotted the suspect couple eating with the young girl at De Pauze restaurant on Wednesday. One Dutch report said police were carrying out DNA tests on a cup used by the girl. It was claimed one member of the party was celebrating their birthday.
Nothing out of the ordinary with this version of the Belgium sighting here ... no proof that Maddy WAS in Belgium. The preceding headline today which relates to this is therefore very misleading.
