Played 3 .... 7 points adrift already

What a complete contrast to the euphoria of last year. 12 months ago I was witness to dominant, trail-blazing form as the Red Devils were firing on all cylinders straight out of the blocks. That was then ....

Now, I'm still reeling from the embarrassment of a defeat by Manchester City in the early hours for us over here. A defeat which now leaves the Red Devils SEVEN points adrift of top spot and still without a win after their first three games in the Premiership. They've now failed to score in two out of three games, and scored only once. Their goal difference is now a negative which matches exactly my current mood.

I know its only a game. It isn't supposed to emotionally affect us. But, over here in this land of Rugby overloaded TV, where decent TV programmes are few and far between, the English Premiership new season is the oasis in the storm. Watching Man Utd has been the godsend for the last five years over here. It has been the tonic which we've always looked forward to in the depths of winter time over here.

So, to now gaze at the current league table and see the Red Devils languishing near the bottom of the table is depressing to say the least. Last night was another game to quickly forget. After all the early dominance for Manchester City to snatch a shock goal ... was not an easy medicine to swallow. Especially as it was right on cue ... I'd said literally minutes before to Kristine 'watch this Man City will grab a goal right out of the blue and go on to win it'.

The Red Devils were a group of clueless individuals for best part of the game .... somehow somewhere their team work has been lost. Perhaps it is due to the current casualty list with so many players currently out of circulation. Perhaps it is because of the current batch of new players. Perhaps. But then that would only be making excuses. Man City could have said the same with their new team and their new manager. However, they've now won three out of three and currently carry the Manchester banner at the top of the table. Hopefully this is not the season when the tables turn on the Red Devils. let's hope they recover soon. But with Spurs & Everton & Chelsea in forthcoming games .... I'm not holding out much hope for the Red Devils to get back on track.

Hopefully, the Champions will prove me wrong in the coming weeks. Fingers crossed that they do.
