Gerry and Kate McCann, who have been waiting for almost 100 days for news of their three-year-old daughter, issued the unprecedented denial after a series of accusations in Portuguese newspapers. Reports said their child had never been kidnapped, but was murdered or died accidentally in the bedroom of their Algarve holiday home.
