ROCK2WGTN Rocktacular - Easter 2008

RIFF2WGTN, a promotion of ROCK2WGTN has taken on a life of its own. Scores of New Zealand's top guitarists applied to play in the spectacular two day concert event in Wellington this Easter, and six winners were chosen to perform in a special guitar duelling set on the first day. Read all about RIFF2WGTN here.

In a recent announcement, 80s glam rock band Poison was the final international act confirmed, playing as the big opening band of the final night. Poison joins Whitesnake, Alice Cooper, Lordi, Ozzy Osbourne, KISS, The Valves, Sonic Altar, The Symphony of Screams and Weta Workshop.

ROCK2WGTN has already sold over 25,000 tickets for the two day back-to-back concerts with a total of 5 hours of music each day and a host of SFX, Pyro Performers, Spectacular Stunts, Zombie Cheerleaders and much, much, more. Wotzon.com is now into its third month of record traffic for this event spectacular, which underlines our status as the number one rock website in Wellington.

ROCK2WGTN, the two day ‘monster’ rock festival production featuring KISS, Ozzy Osborne and Alice Cooper at Westpac Stadium is already smashing records. It's defying all patterns of usual behaviour by exceeding online traffic records with this page marked as the first call for news updates. In December alone, Wotzon.com registered well over 20,000 visits to this page, while the show promoters had announced that, of the 40,000 plus capacity available for each day, one quarter disappeared with the VISA Card presale in December, then the MyTicketek members jumped in right behind them.

The early rush confirms the popularity of top artists like Ozzy Osbourne, KISS, Alice Cooper, Whitesnake and Lordi. And a surprising number of families were planning to come with comments like “our parents took us to KISS when they first toured, so we are now taking our family to see these bands. It’s history in the making.”
