Snow Mountains

Matt and I decided to take a trip out on Saturday to the Snow Mountains in NSW.
Now for anyone that knows me personally, will know that I don't 'do' snow or cold, so it came as a surprise to Matt when I agreed to go!

It was a gorgeous sunny morning here in Canberra, small amount of ground ice early morning but that always clears pretty quickly.

We headed off towards Cooma, a nice pleasant drive although a bit boring samey samey landscape, but we are just so gateful to be living in this fantastic country, we embraced the surrounds as we drove.

We landed at Cooma and stopped for a bite to eat and a quick look around the local shops and then the tourist information centre.

Matt was quite disappointed when the updated notice board was stating that all vehicles needed snow chains to reach the snow mountain resorts.
We had none!

So we drove as far as we could, still sunshine, blue skies but no snow on the ground. Then we had to turn back, pointless going any further without snow chains.

We did manage to catch the tips of some of the snow mountains though in the distant background.

Ah well, it was an adventure, another Aussie exploration weekend for us and we enjoyed it!
