Countdown to 21.12.12 - 38 Days

Countdown to the 'End Of Time'
... 38 days and counting. The image on the left is the inspiration for today's "insight" in the human world prior to 'the end of time'. Wherever you seemingly went in our society you found someone with their eyes fixed on a small rectangular box we called a 'mobile phone'. The point of these boxes was seemingly lost on us ... a mobile phone had the purpose of receiving and making phone calls to people! In the early days of mobile phones this was actually the case. In those times the only function on them was a numeric pad to make and receive the calls. Enter the technological  agencies ... and slowly but surely more and more needless functions were added to phones. First came the calenders and the basic games. Next came the camera and video facilities. Our obsession with having the latest mobile phone with all the latest apps became the precedence for choosing a mobile phone. The invention of the SMS ... was the worst one!

The 'Short Message Service' began as a convenient way to let loved ones know you'd be late home for tea. Or that the car had broken down. But now its much more than that. It became the blight of the western world! Look at the picture above. Four youths sitting at a table ... all lost in their own left brain worlds! Wikipedia sums up SMS perfectly .. "SMS text messaging is the most widely used data application in the world, with 3.6 billion active users, or 78% of all mobile phone subscribers. The term "SMS" is used as a synonym for all types of short text messaging, as well as the user activity itself, in many parts of the world. SMS is also being used as a form of direct marketing known as SMS marketing."

We actually forgot how to communicate with each other! You would walk to the local shopping centre and have to step out of the way of lost souls with their minds and their eyes fixed on their rectangular box, not looking where they were going. You would see them in shopping aisles of the local supermarket. Or in the driver's seat of their cars. Or crossing roads ... risking their lives to text or to e-mail or play their latest app.

It became a sad and accepted part of our reality. The needless things advertising screwing up so many people's lives. Their freewill moulded into requiring one of these rectangular boxes to be accepted as normal in this crazy society.

Recently, I discovered how 'captured' I'd become with this same needless thing obsession. Our own rectangular box called an 'IPHONE 4S' became disconnected from the phone network due to the network provider barring our calls over a cock up on their part. So far it is 4 days since this occurred. It is a godsend believe me! I know I can't text or call anyone. It is like a weight lifted from my mind. The rectangular box has been discarded. I remember the days before it arrived in my life ... and it is so much better without the electromagnetic pulses and signals tampering with my brain .....!!!!
