Embracing A New Tradition

A ritual can be many things. Lighting a unique candle at the start of each meal. Saying an evening prayer. Taking a moment to contemplate a personal altar. Even setting aside one night each week for a board game and a pizza has the potential to become an important family ritual. But quite often, activities like these are the unconscious rituals in which we engage without recognizing their significance in our lives. Creatively and actively inventing ritual can bring you a sense of community and how you as an individual fit into the universe. Rituals are meant not only to celebrate significant moments, but to ease us through difficult times by preserving stability and to establish bonds that transcend time. Rituals performed with family and friends bring us closer to one another and keep us grounded, but all personal ritual, no matter how outwardly mundane, is meaningful.

The world of today is fast and full, making it seem like there couldn't possibly be room for another activity in the course of a day. Change feels like the only constant but it is for this reason that personal and family rituals are vital. Taking time each day to perform an action you find calming or to bless home, family, or friends is a way to learn to appreciate each individual moment and to find happiness in the present, regardless of what the past has held or what the future promises to bring. Planned rituals, such as using special flatware on your birthday or marking the anniversary of a loved one's death can make change less harrowing.

To create a ritual, examine your days and look for regularly occurring activities that give you a sense of comfort or balance. Once you have identified an unconscious ritual, bring it into the foreground. If possible, dedicate a place in your home to your ritual. If your ritual involves taking time to read or do a craft, mentally label your favorite chair or workspace as your sacred space. If you care for a personal altar, keep that space uncluttered and use it at the same time each day. The key is setting aside time, even if it is only a few minutes each day or one hour each week. If the ritual involves the entire family, let them know what will be expected of them. Not everyone possesses an already established ritual, but it is never too late to invent a new tradition.

Though it may feel strange at first, creating rituals is a powerful way to create a personal culture and to positively reinforce values. When shared, you offer of yourself, your creativity, and your guidance in an activity that both grounds you in the here-and-now and invites a little magic into your life.

Nasa's twin Grail probes arrived at the moon in early January - and one has just sent back its first video from the 'dark' side of the moon, the one we don't see from Earth. The video shows a flight from the north pole to the south pole of the moon. 'It's very rugged and covered with impact craters from asteroids that hit the moon's surface,' says Maria Zuber, Nasa's principal investigator on Grail. In the video, the north pole of the Moon is visible at the top of the screen as the spacecraft flies toward the lunar south pole. The side explored in the video can never be seen from Earth. The moon is 'tidally locked' to earth, so one side always faces away from us. What Happens While We Sleep: A Spiritual Perspective

The body is a miracle of organization and intelligence in which life is continually renewed and energy continually replenished so that the total organism can continue to live. Sleeping involves part of this renewal, and is a process through which the higher vibrations of light are permitted greater access to the physical body because the emotional and mental components of personality that are often limiting factors in the awake state are no longer present while one sleeps. Although dreaming produces mental and emotional content and therefore creates emotional states, the content of these is part of the sleep state itself and not a barrier to the energies that would restore, heal, and rejuvenate.

The quality of sleeping has a great deal to do with the amount of restoration that can take place. Deep sleep produces not only different brainwave patterns, but also permits a greater influx of light energy into the cells and tissues so that toxins can be removed and greater energy can be infused on a cellular level. This does not happen in any kind of conscious way. It happens because of the nature of the human body which has never truly been separated from the higher realms of light, despite one's waking experience. At night, this body rejoins its higher counterparts that are the non-physical energy bodies, and a more seamless union of different aspects of one's being takes place than can normally occur during daytime functioning.

The infusion of light is not the only thing that can occur during sleep, however. It is also possible for a soul to decide to continue their experiences with other realms while they sleep or to receive teachings from Beings with whom they have had an ongoing soul relationship. Such nighttime experiences are not unusual even if not recalled, and many people benefit during the daytime from learning acquired at night which is unknown to them, but which occurs to their conscious mind as insight or inspiration later on. Silence of the Heart

We spend a lot of time attempting to put the feelings in our hearts into words, to communicate to others our passions, our emotions, and our love. Often we are so busy trying to translate our heart’s roar into language that we miss the most profound experience the heart has to offer, which is silence. Every poem arises from this silence and returns to it. When all the songs have been sung, the soliloquies delivered, the emotions expressed, silence is what remains. As each wave of feeling rises and falls back into the silence, we have an opportunity to connect with the vast, open, powerfully healing wisdom at the soundless center of our hearts.

Our hearts may seem noisy and tumultuous so much of the time that we do not even associate them with silence. It takes a sensitive ear to tune in to the silence of the heart, but it is there in each one of us, so close and so large that we do not even notice it. We can begin to become aware of it in the same way we become aware of the negative space in a still life, the background of a photograph, or the open sky that contains the sun, clouds, moon, and stars. We are accustomed to tuning in to objects and sounds that are one-pointed, solid, and three-dimensional. Seeing and hearing the apparently empty space that contains these sounds and objects takes a little practice.

We can bring our awareness into our hearts by simply breathing into the general area of our heart. The first thing we may notice is feelings like joy or sadness and physical sensations like tightness or tenderness. We acknowledge these as we continue to breathe and focus, listening attentively. We surround these feelings and sensations with breath and recognize that they are contained and held in an immeasurable substance like water or air, intangible, ineffable, but utterly real. This is the silence of the heart, and the more we listen for it, return to it, and accept it, the more we bathe and purify ourselves in the soundless center of our being.

All the major spiritual traditions serve the purpose of offering us a roadmap to guide us on our individual journeys to enlightenment. These roadmaps are made up of moral codes, parables, and, in some cases, detailed descriptions of mystical states. We often study the fine points of a particular ascended master’s narrative in order to better understand our own and to seek inspiration and guidance on our path. In the same way, when we plan a road trip, we carry maps and guidebooks in an effort to understand where we are going. In both cases, though, the journey has a life of its own and maps, while helpful, can only take us so far. There is just no comparison between looking at a line on a piece of paper and driving your own car down the road that line represents.

Some people seem well-suited to following maps, while others are always looking for new ways to get where they’re going. In the end, the only reliable compass is within, as every great spiritual guide will tell you. The maps and travelogues left behind by others are great blessings, full of useful information and inspiration, but they cannot take the journey for us. When it is time to merge onto the highway or pull up anchor, we are ostensibly on our own. Strange weather patterns, closed roads, and traffic jams arise in the moment, out of nowhere, and our maps cannot tell us what to do. Whether we take refuge in a motel by the side of the road, persevere and continue forward, or turn back altogether is entirely up to us.

Maps are based on observations from the past and we are living in the present, so we are the only true experts on our journey to enlightenment. We may find that the road traveled by our predecessors is now closed. We may feel called to change direction entirely so that the maps we have been carrying really no longer apply. These are the moments when we learn to attune ourselves to our inner compass, following a map that only we can see, as we make our way into the unknown territory of our own enlightenment.

Clinging to the Core

There are times when our whole world seems to be falling apart around us, and we are not sure what to hold onto anymore. Sometimes our relationships crumble and sometimes it’s our physical environment. At other times, we can’t put our finger on it, but we feel as if all the walls have fallen down around us and we are standing with nothing to lean on, exposed and vulnerable. These are the times in our lives when we are given an opportunity to see where we have established our sense of identity, safety, and well-being. And while it is perfectly natural and part of our process to locate our sense of self in externals, any time those external factors shift, we have an opportunity to rediscover and move closer to our core, which is the only truly safe place to call home.

The core of our being is not affected by the shifting winds of circumstance or subject to the cycles of change that govern physical reality. It is as steady and consistent as the sun, which is why the great mystics and mystical poets often reference the sun in their odes to the self. Like the sun, there are times when our core seems to be inaccessible to us, but this is just a misperception. We know that when the sun goes behind a cloud or sets for the night, it has not disappeared but is simply temporarily out of sight. In the same way, we can trust that our inner core is always shining brightly, even when we cannot quite see it.

We can cling to this core when things around us are falling apart, knowing that an inexhaustible light shines from within ourselves. Times of external darkness can be a great gift in that they provide an opportunity to remember this inner light that shines regardless of the circumstances of our lives. When our external lives begin to come back together, we are able to lean a bit more lightly on the structures we used to call home, knowing more clearly than ever that our true home is that bright sun shining in our core.

Well ... that's January 2012 just about done and dusted. Didn't it fly through the traps at a ridiculously high speed then? Wow ... we've got February 2012 commencing on Wednesday. Wonder what's hidden in those four weeks? January 2012 has been a rather odd taster for 2012. It felt different to previous months ... very much so. Clear vibrational and emotional changes were there for sensitives to feel!!! A wave of very high and 'heavy' energy approached in the early part of January 2012 and has remained ever since. There has been so much negative emotions out in the open ...bubbling up to the surface from under the carpet ... like now is the time to deal with it. Right? Right. No time like the present ... no more procrastination and no more rain checks. In order to take the leap of faith to ride the fast consciousness frequency that is touching our minds ... we need to rid ourselves of the old crap right now. In order to reach this frequency our physical bodies need to shine brighter. It means that all the elite created junk food has no longer to be consumed. Our diets must change. OK so the elite anticipated these months and they now fill our crops and our meats with similar crap ... but, here's the thing; once you optimise your body and your consciousness to accepting the incoming solar rays and the incoming upgrade signal via your DNA ... you will become impervious to the effects of the shit they dump on you. Your body will no longer vibrate within the frequency range that is effected by their shit!! Continue eating their junk and your body will remain locked in that frequency range and you'll become more and more depressed ... until eventually your body malfunctions before its time ... or you top yourself. Seriously!! Change your diet and eat foods that contain less shit than the manufactured crap and you lift your body frequency into the approaching higher end rates that are now all around us. Your DNA is a crystalline transmitter and receiver. I believe strongly that a few more DNA strands are being activated as I write this article ... the shits they feed us and pollute us with, including all the EMF signals and god knows that else in the air around us, are designed as a last ditch attempt to keep us locked in their frequency ranges. However, they are ignorant to the power of the infinite consciousness; the same consciousness that created them and their sorrowful ways. It is therefore this consciousness that shines its light brighter in our minds ... watch out ... its going to be a bumpy ride until we clear our minds of the negative toxins of the binding vibrations ... we have ALREADY succeeded, believe me ... !!! The Body's Consciousness: Encoding From The Soul

The body's consciousness operates as a unified whole, allowing the brain, central nervous system, and higher intuition to register what is going on in all the various parts. Without consciousness, the body would not be able to maintain itself. And yet in treating the various illnesses and disorders that the body manifests, we do not often speak of the body's consciousness or the messages that it may have for us.

To begin with, let us for the moment consider the body as a hologram of our greater consciousness via the DNA which is its formative structure and which emanates from the soul level of awareness. To be a hologram means that what exists at a lower level of functioning incorporates within itself all the features of the higher level of who we are, but within a translated form. To view the body as a hologram of consciousness allows us to see in symptoms of dysfunction or limitation, a message reflected in the very patterning of the symptom itself.

This is true in all areas of functioning, though it does not represent a one-to-one correlation between what we are conscious of and what manifests physically. Manifestation is more complex, often having to do with unconscious issues more than conscious ones. These, our DNA structure weaves into the creation of maximum and minimum levels of functioning of the body at the time of conception. In the digestive/eliminative area, physical predispositions are created via the DNA for areas of limited functioning or for specific localized problems that may arise. With respect to the digestive/eliminative system, problems with 'taking in/receiving' of nourishment, and 'releasing/giving' in the dual sense of releasing what needs to be let go of, and offering nourishment to others, are often manifested as physical symptoms. Waiting for Someday

The hectic pace of modern existence affords us an easy out; we shelve our aspirations so we can cope more effectively with the challenges of the present, ostensibly to have more time and leisure to realize our purpose in the future. Or we tell ourselves that we will chase our dreams someday once we have accomplished other lesser goals. In truth, it is our fear that keeps us from seeking fulfillment in the here and now—because we view failure as a possibility, our reasons for delaying our inevitable success seem sound and rational. If we ask ourselves what we are really waiting for, however, we discover that there is no truly compelling reason why we should put off the pursuit of the dreams that sustain us.

When regarded as a question, "Why not now?" drains us of our power to realize our ambitions. We all know the feeling of being repeatedly haunted by the same issue, no matter how we try to ignore it, avoid it, or run away from it. Sometimes it seems that we can get rid of something we don’t want by simply pushing it away. Most of the time, the more we push away, the more we get pushed back. There are laws of physics and metaphysics that explain this phenomenon, which is often summed up in this pithy phrase: That which you resist persists.

Resistance tends to strengthen the energies it attempts to oppose by giving them power and energy to work against. Additionally, resistance keeps us from learning more about what we resist. In order to fully understand something, we must open to it enough to receive its energy; otherwise, we remain ignorant of its lessons. There is a Tibetan story of a monk who retreats to meditate in a cave only to be plagued by demons. He tries everything—chasing, fighting, hiding—to get the demons out of his cave, but the thing that finally works is surrender. He simply lets them have their way with him and only then do they disappear.

Now, this wisdom must be applied practically. We are not meant to get ourselves physically injured. Instead, this story speaks of how, in essence, our demons are inside of us. What plagues and pursues us on an inner level has a way of manifesting itself in our environment in the form of people, events, and issues that appear to be beyond our control. But all these external expressions are reflections of our insides, and it is inside ourselves that we can safely experiment with surrendering to what we fear and dislike. It may feel scary, and we may find ourselves in the company of a lot of resistance as we begin the process of opening to what we fear. But the more we learn to surrender, and the more the demons that plague us disappear in the process, the more courageous we will become.

The Paradox of Spirit

Each of us has a spiritual self that animates our bodies and infuses our thoughts and feelings. Our language is limited to the world we know for descriptions of something that perhaps cannot be fully comprehended by the human mind. Therefore, only metaphors approach the expressions that give us a true sense of our spiritual nature. The paradox lies in opposing concepts, all of which are true at the same time. And in harmonizing the opposites, we begin to know the wonders of the spirit.

The self is not small or big but is both at the same time. Our spirit is like a drop in the ocean of spiritual energy. Although our spirit seems like a small, disconnected part of a larger whole, it is still made of the same things and can become part of the vast ocean once again. Our individual spirit seems to inhabit our bodies like a passenger in a vehicle but at the same time is not bound by our bodies. Spirits can reach across the miles to touch the heart of a loved one or expand to become one with the universe. We may feel small and perhaps insignificantly young when we look up at the stars, but we are made of the same basic elements. Perhaps looking at the stars is merely a reflection of what is going on within each atom and cell of our being. We are a universe within a universe. Our spirits are ever renewing, yet ageless and eternal. So the self is not new or old but both at once.

So our spiritual self is not small or big, new or old. We may experience life as good and bad, right and wrong, happy and sad, but this is the experience of the material world of dualities, not the truth of our spritual nature. By going within to touch the eternal and changeless energy at our center, we can go beyond the contrasting metaphors to the experience of oneness. And in that connection we can know big and small, new and old, movement and stillness. By accepting the paradox of spirit, we open ourselves to the fullness of our own being.

The soul can be likened to a great house with many rooms, each of which makes up an integral part of who we are. One of those rooms, or aspects, is what is known as the higher self, a part of us that possesses a range of perception far greater than that of the conscious mind. Your higher self is aware of both your current existence and numerous other possibilities, and cannot be altered or suppressed. It is related to your basic, innate purpose and no matter how much or how often you change, it remains constant. Some believe the higher self is the most evolved, most perfect "self" and thus can act as a guide on life's journey. In that role, it manifests itself in many ways: as images that flash in your mind inspiring ideas, as a small voice, as intuition, or as a feeling of rightness associated with certain actions.

Becoming aware of and connecting with the higher self is comparable to becoming truly aware of oneself while feeling entirely integrated into the universe. It is like being in your body while looking down at your life from a high vantage point. With such insight, you can find the answers to many questions about your own life and the infinite existence. Connecting with the higher self, however, takes dedication, discipline, and practice. You may find it difficult because old emotional wounds or negative thoughts block your connection. One technique involves becoming "level" with the higher self through visualization. Begin by sitting in a chair with adequate support for the spine. Relax and breathe deeply. When you have achieved a level of deep calm, rise out of yourself, turn, and see your seated body before you. Visualize the higher self - it may appear as a point of white light above your head. Concentrate on it and slowly move it down to your physical body, letting it envelope you until it reaches the floor. Be sure to ground yourself after doing this exercise by eating a meal, or going out in nature.

After connecting with their higher selves, many people report rediscovering their soul's purpose and feel comfortable living in accordance with it. On the other hand, it is possible to fight the higher self, which can lead to tension and lack of energy. Nonetheless, the higher self is our most open and wise "companion" in life, and a source of unadulterated insight, provided we have the perseverance to bond with it.

Tonight will be MJ.TV's first MYSTIC SWITCHBOARD. Matthew James will be connecting with the spirit world and passing on the messages he receives. Tonight's broadcast will focus on a number of 'Facebook volunteers' and their specific requests. In future Mystic Switchboard broadcasts, as well as connecting to the other side and passing on messages, Matthew James will be discussing his own 'tricks of the trade' and his own insights into the spirit world.... approximate time of You Tube availability 12.30am AEST (2pm GMT).

Morning Meditation

Just before the coming of the pale rays of dawn, Mother Nature exists in a state of flux. Earth's energy is stable, free of the disordered vibrations that are a by-product of humanity's comings and goings. In these first moments of day, when the sun's golden light is only just peeking over the horizon, our animal mind remains in the land of slumber though we ourselves are awake. Deep sleep has washed away the impurities of existence that accumulated within us, so our mental, physical, and emotional potential is heightened. To meditate in this peaceful yet energetically charged in-between time is to connect with the divine in an extremely intimate fashion. We discover a new kinship with the universal life force during morning meditations because our awareness becomes a mirror for earthly consciousness—we wake as the world wakes, quietly embracing the joy of being and setting the tone for a serene, fulfilling day.

In the first glorious glow of morning, the light, air, and energy flowing around us speak in hushed tones of the activity to come. While we recognize that another day of being means becoming once again immersed in the challenges of action and reaction, we also understand that we can draw upon the unique energetic qualities of daybreak for comfort, creativity, and vigor. There is bliss in the simple knowledge that we have been given the gift of another day of existence. We are inspired by sights and sounds of the sun's gentle ascension. Birds serenade the luminosity, which grows richer by the minute. And though we may feel a residual lethargy, our vitality returns as our meditation helps us to become one with the stirring of other beings rubbing the sleep from their eyes. At the start of each day, our destiny has not yet been written, and so there is nothing we cannot do.

How we choose to meditate is less important than our choice to attune ourselves to the spirit of wakefulness that travels round the world each and every day. Even the briefest moment of quiet contemplation in the muted light of the sun can put all that is yet to come into perspective. As a consequence of our daybreak reflections, our lives are imbued with the same stability, tranquility, and increased awareness that humanity has long associated with the stillness of early morning.

Divination has always been one of the most popular and widely practiced of all the occult arts. They have also had a corrosive effect on public confidence in the food-monitoring efforts, with a growing segment of the public and even many experts coming to believe that officials have understated or even covered up the true extent of the public health risk in order to limit both the economic damage and the size of potential compensation payments. Strongest solar storm since 2005 hitting Earth

The sun is bombarding Earth with radiation from the biggest solar storm in more than six years with more to come from the fast-moving eruption. The solar flare occurred at about 11 p.m. EST Sunday and will hit Earth with three different effects at three different times. The biggest issue is radiation, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Space Weather Prediction Center in Colorado. The radiation is mostly a concern for satellite disruptions and astronauts in space. It can cause communication problems for polar-traveling airplanes, said space weather center physicist Doug Biesecker. Radiation from Sunday's flare arrived at Earth an hour later and will likely continue through Wednesday. Levels are considered strong but other storms have been more severe. There are two higher levels of radiation on NOAA's storm scale - severe and extreme - Biesecker said. Still, this storm is the strongest for radiation since May 2005. Odd Accounts and Strange Tales Orbit Around Shasta

Mt. Shasta, the Cascade peak that mesmerized John Muir, has long attracted mystics, metaphysicians and spiritualists. Now a researcher is seeking 'stories and information' for a book on Bigfoot and UFO sightings. Locals didn't find the ads, posted at the laundromat or running in the SuperSaver, to be strange at all. A number of people, in fact, reached out to Brian Wallenstein the "researcher looking to gather stories and information" for a book on Bigfoot and UFO sightings.

A woman named Rudi emailed to report that she'd seen a bright disc hovering above Mt. Shasta. She attached a photo from a ski resort snow cam that showed a luminous speck. (Credible, Wallenstein thought.)

A man named Larry recounted his own research - including telepathic communication with "them" - conducted in preparation for the day extraterrestrials would reveal themselves to earthlings. (Too out there, Wallenstein decided.) People pulled him aside to share anecdotes of mystery lights and star gates, or to whisper the names of neighbors and brothers with tales to tell.
