Quake rattles Taupo region

Holidaymakers in the Taupo region would have felt a jolt last night when an earthquake of Richter magnitude 5.5 struck. Located 10km northwest of Turangi at a depth of 120km, the tremor happened at 9.07pm.

GNS Science said it would have been felt widely throughout the North Island. (Yahoo Xtra News)
