Through The Open Door

Bright sunlight hurts the eyes which gaze forwards,
Yesterday stands over a shoulder, disregarded now

The future ahead, a daze of blinding yellow

Anticipated warmth tensing nerves
... accustomed to arctic cold Meadow fragrances overwhelming the mind,
Weary feet itching to step back

But instinct ... the driving force ... pushing the soul onwards.

'
The past has gone'; the cackle of the Magpie from the left
A mind understanding the voice; alien to most of the blind
The solitary Magpie ... an unannounced guide thro' the wasteland
'
the past is where the heart was lost, the now where it was found,
be brave, so brave, move forward ... go through the open door ... go through.'

Weary feet responding to the instruction ... moving forward, crossing the line in the shale.

A beleagured soul steps out into the bright sunlight
Into a wondrous place - the sound of running water ahead; summer breezes all around
Woodland shrills percolate through those sensitive ears
Sun baked stones hurt ice-hardened feet ... memories return quickly
A mind acting swiftly (
Glastonia, Caer Siddi, Caer Wydr)
(
I've returned ... I've escaped to where the shadow cannot follow .. cannot touch me)

Memories flow like the idyllic stream ahead
A soul glad of the soliloquy ... the chance to embrace this part of the mind
Avalon sounding so strong in its soul
A home from home
Before ever there came the need for plight ... the reality of capture ...
