We did it for Sarah

Eight years after the murder of her beloved daughter, crusading mum Sara Payne has proudly declared: “From Monday your children will safer.”

Thanks to the For Sarah campaign — led by Sara and run by the News of the World — parents will have the legal right to information about paedophiles who may harm their children.

Pilot schemes start Monday September 15 in four police areas in Britain allowing parents and carers to seek details of the background of friends, neighbours and relatives who have unsupervised access to their children.

And single mothers can also discover if a new partner is a convicted paedophile.

It is the breakthrough Sara—whose daughter was murdered by paedophile Roy Whiting in 2000—has prayed for.
