I think I want to stay at United

Source: The Sun

CRISTIANO RONALDO has pledged his immediate future to Manchester United — but was far from convincing. The Portuguese wing wizard only THINKS he will still be at Old Trafford next season.

Before being presented with the FIFPro World Player of the Year award yesterday, Ron was asked if his dream was to play for United. He paused and stuttered before saying: “My dream is to win the Champions League again. I insist I’m a Manchester United player and now I think that I will continue here next year. My head is focused on the club. My focus is solely on playing well for Manchester United and winning the Premier League and Champions League again.”

Ron tried to force a transfer to boyhood idols Real Madrid in the summer — despite having four years left on his United deal.

He insisted: “The summer is finished. My head is always here in the club. Alex Ferguson has been a key person. I respect him a lot because it was him who signed me and he has played a very important part in all that I have won. In Lisbon, I reached an agreement with him and it was decided that the best thing for all was to continue. He listened to my arguments and I listened to his. Now I understand it was the correct decision. I am with United body and soul.
