Nurse In Boot: Man Faces Court

A man has appeared in court accused of attempting to murder a nurse who was found locked in the boot of her own car. Justice Ngema, originally from South Africa but living in Scotland, appeared at a private hearing at Linlithgow Sheriff Court and was remanded in custody.

Magdeline Makola, of Livingston in West Lothian, was not seen after she left work at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary on December 15. Concerns were initially raised when she failed to turn up for her shift on December 18, and was reported missing. An investigation was launched and the South African-born nurse was found on December 26.

She was found in a red Vauxhall Astra in the town of Airdrie, Lanarkshire. She is now in a stable conditiion in hospital after suffering from dehydration and hypothermia. Police said Ms Makola had been left "severely traumatised" by the experience. (Source: Sky News)
