'The Seeker'

Talks-With-Shadows surveys the disarray
Spies the devilry in the skies, shakes his head … and shouts to the heavens
why, why, why great spirit must it be this way,
Why must your earthly creations suffer at the hands of such evil?’
With certainty he knows lofty ears do listen, and cosmic eyes look down
But are powerless to openly intervene at this time …
Chaos reigns and peddles its ritual amongst the ignorant the forlorn …
It is the certainty he observes,
So many face oblivion and will not receive salvation
The damage is done to their minds and their forms
But their souls will ride on … beyond these desperate seas,
Safe in that knowledge, he finds peace … seeking reason for the abduction …

Towards the river he strides,
Deep in thought,
Projecting his soul out deep into the heartland
As the seeker … looking for one who can provide that answer
Desperate to recognise the truth …
why, why … how could great spirit permit this to befall his children?’
And then he sees her … despiser of the human spirit
One with only malice in her soul
Evil incarnate burning through her essence
She strides towards him with the answer
The venom that pitched the naïve into this crazy dream.

‘Before ever you evolved foolish child,
I came to your world … and provided sin …
I watched over those flocks that revelled in those new experiences
They were powerless to realise the spell I wrought,
And before they even knew it … their souls were bought
Eternally I feast on their essence …

With a cry of dismay he renders the vision gone
The nightmare to pass … the real truth to be told
With the feel of icy cold water on his face he cleanses his thoughts
And returns back to the world of man
Cringing from the sting of a myriad of bloody scratches on his arms and face
The memory of the demoness still fresh in his mind.

Later Talks-With-Shadows lights the ritual fire
Burns fresh white sage … and calls the ancestors to him
Deep in thought he draws furs around him for warmth
And enters the realm of the ancestors to learn more …
