Favourite's Collection #36

PIED CURRAWONG
This is my first ever photograph of a Currawong. At the time I didn't have a clue what the bird was. It was a sunny winter's day at Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra, and we'd stopped at a lake side cafe for our lunch. This rather strange looking bird landed on the glass balustrade a few metres from our table and fixed me with a beady grin.

At this time it was still a few months before I would avidly take photographs on a daily basis! This image is thus an addition to the favourite's collection because of its pioneering status!
