British Meats = Zero Taste

British meat tastes NAFF! No more accurately, most British meat tastes of absolutely nothing, even when you spend a fortune, and cook it correctly. Unless of course you buy Pheasant or Venison and other game meats.

We wonder why?We also purchase frozen Kangaroo and other imported meats as an alternative to naff British meat.

We can remember the strong aroma and strong taste of Pork; the distinctive smell of Chicken and the wonderful tastes of Lamb and Beef. This was back in 2002 prior to our emigration to the Southern Hemisphere. Since then, so much has happened to British meats. Pork is a drab meat with little or no taste. Chicken is just the same, a watery meat with no taste; it certainly isn't Halal where we purchase it from (We more often then not make curries to make it taste of something). We recently had Lamb shanks and there was virtually no taste. Plenty of blood so its not Halal. Last night we had a decent Beef roast ... and I cooked my part very rare; again tasteless.

What the beep beep has happened? It's clearly something to do with what the animals are fed; perhaps Genetic modification too .... but it is very noticeable. Except for the less popular game meats which have very strong tastes, like they should. Try a freshly caught Pheasant if you want to remember how British Chicken once tasted.
