Contacting the Dead: Does it Help or Hinder the Grieving Process?

[Waking Times]: Losing a loved one can be an emotionally challenging time of your life. The shock of processing thoughts that you won’t see or hug your loved one ever again can be difficult. You may feel sadness, guilt, anger, loneliness, and emptiness. You may feel consumed with a need to contact your loves one once more, to be comforted by the knowledge that he or she is somehow still around you, and to feel connected again.

We all deal with grief in different ways. Yet, typically, the grieving process is made up of five stages: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and, finally, acceptance. It’s an undoubtedly hard journey. Reaching the final stage of acceptance allows you to move on with life and return to normality.

For some, the idea of losing a loved one is unbearable. Thus, searching for a solution and a way to ease the pain may open the door to a new world – the spirit world. There are many anecdotal stories of people communicating with those who have passed. Whilst some believe this idea is mostly made of fabricated and false claims, we can’t deny the possibility. What if we do pass over into a spirit world? What if spirits are all around us? What if spirits are trying to contact us?
