Valleys and channels on Mars reveal evidence of ancient groundwater

[Natural News]: “Early Mars was a watery world,” said Francesco Salese, a Dutch researcher from Utrecht University. “But as the planet’s climate changed, this water retreated below the surface to form pools and ‘groundwater.’”

Researchers argued over the amount of water present on the surface of Mars. They also disagreed about the role played by the liquid.
