Favourite's Collection #275

It all seems such a long time ago now. I was able to connect with nature in a very unique way in Australia on a daily basis. My camera card filled with literally hundreds of native bird images each and every day. A multitude of different native birds in every direction at my favourite locations. Sadly, its nowhere near the same here in the UK. The hedgerows, trees, fields and skies are literally almost devoid of the native birds there once was. I've not seen a sparrow or a starling in over 6 months. I've not seen wrens since I first came back to the UK to visit back in 2016. There are plenty of pigeons and magpies and rooks and crows; but not much else. It's very sad.

So I really miss those years in Australia where I could click to my heart's content and capture some amazing images. I've chosen this image as a very fond memory. It's of a Galah I spotted amongst the dozens that would roost in the trees around Stranger Pond, the nature reserve about five minutes from my home in Canberra. I've photoshop this image to take out the background, and created a .png for use in artwork. I have done this with hundreds of my images.

This particular image reminds me of how I took for granted seeing the wonderful Galah in the wild every day, and how something always comes to an end. Now I only have my photographs as memories. Until I go back to Australia again someday.
