New EU President Ursula von der Leyen snipes that failing to secure a post-Brexit trade deal by the end of 2020 'will impact the UK more than us' in barb at Boris Johnson's plan to make an extension ILLEGAL

[Daily Mail]: Brussels took aim today at Boris Johnson's plan to get a trade deal with the EU sorted by the end of next year with the EU's top bureaucrat warning that failure would be worse for Britain.

Ursula von der Leyen branded the commerce pact timetable 'extremely challenging' as she addressed the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

It came after Mr Johnson had sent an emphatic message to Brussels that he will not countenance any further delays to Brexit.
