[The Pulse]: Mainstream media can make the majority feel like the minority, and the minority feel like the majority. This is done through many tactics, and one of them is “leaders” sharing a view that often demonizes groups of people who are opposing government measures. This has happened throughout history, and it’s currently happening now with the massive group of Canadian people and truckers making their way to Canada’s capital, Ottawa, to protest mandatory vaccination measures. They are not just protesting mandates for truckers crossing the U.S. Canada border, but for everyone.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently stated the following,
“The small fringe minority of people who are on their way to Ottawa who are holding unacceptable views, that they are expressing, do not represent the views of Canadians who have been there for each other. Who know that following the science and stepping up to protect each other is the best way to continue to ensure our freedoms, our rights, our values as a country.”Freedomconvoy2022
But are they in the minority? There are reports all over the place, especially social media (accounts linked later in the article) from people who are part of the convoy, showing the trucking convoy stretching from 70 to 100 kilometres long, with several, if not tens and thousands of trucks.
Some are estimating that a minimum of half a million to 1 million people are heading to Ottawa. This doesn’t seem like a “small fringe minority” and a recent CTV News poll shows that Canadians are in solidarity with the truckers.
