We are not alone in the universe, according to the chief of space exploration at the UK Space Agency.

Libby Jackson, 41, who received an OBE in 2022 for “services to the space sector,” made this statement during a recent interview when asked whether alien life is likely to exist elsewhere in the universe.

“With billions of galaxies there’s no way that we are the only life form,” she said.

“Scientists will certainly have more answers in the coming decades. I need to make sure that the UK is playing its part and that what we learn from space benefits people on Earth.”

Jackson is not the only British space scientist who holds this view. Dr. Helen Sharman, a former astronaut who became the first woman to travel to Russia’s Mir space station in 1991, is also a well-known supporter of the belief that extraterrestrial life exists.

“Aliens exist, there’s no two ways about it,” she said back in 2020. “There are so many billions of stars out there in the universe that there must be all sorts of different forms of life.
