Ok this is an interesting image. If what we see on the left hand side is the moon eclipsing the sun then what is the bright light to the right hand side. Is this in fact the moon coming to go over the sun? Incidentally we didn't witness the black sky etc that is associated with a total eclipse. It is for that reason we assume this is the eclipse taking place. But we can't explain the sun light to the right hand side of the image.
