Lost Faces

Take a look around ... look at the souls around you
Who pass you in the streets ...
Who drift in and out of your life ...
As you pass from square to square

How many of their faces do you know
But you don’t know?
How many souls do you know
But you don’t know?

Faces of souls you’ve not met
But you know you know from somewhere
A vague ... prickly sensation
Lost faces in the crowd ...

You watch the silver screen
You read those tabloids of black and white
You muse over images in popular magazines
It’s the same there too ...

There are faces you know but don’t know
Lost faces staring back at you
No doubt they would feel the same as you
Share the same weird sensation ...

Lost faces
Perhaps ... you shared intimate passage once before
In a parallel existence
Or in a previous life ....

Lost faces
Eerie ... strange ... unexplainable phenomena
Haunting you ... everywhere you turn ...
Haunting you ... everywhere you look.

Souls appear familiar to you
You catch yourself staring
About to greet a stranger like a long lost friend
Lost faces ... perhaps one day it will be revealed ... why it is so.
