For example, whereas in March 2021, 51% of respondents supported the banning of new petrol and diesel cars to force the ‘transition’ to EVs, in June this year, 58% now oppose it. But much more is revealed by this piece than the statistics representing a shift in the public mood.

The poll is bad news for the Government’s green agenda, because it seems that the closer to green Utopia we get, the less the ungrateful hoi polloi are content with the destination. As the West reduces its oil refining industries, Asia is increasing its production to meet global demand

 The reduction of oil refineries in America jeopardises the quality of life for its citizens, as crude oil is essential for producing over 6,000 products and transportation fuels.

The US has not built a new refinery in recent decades due to environmental concerns, policy shifts and regulatory hurdles, with several old refineries shutting down, including planned closures in California.

Globally, the oil refining industry is expected to add new capacity, but this is mostly from China and India.

Earth has vast resources of crude oil and coal in the ground, Ronald Stein says. However, the more advanced developed economies are the least likely to allow any “dirty” emissions-generating plants to be sited, permitted or built in their backyards.

IPCC Likely to Start Blaming Humans For Weather as Friederike Otto Takes Key Role

 Last December the Daily Sceptic published an article reporting that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) could be preparing to start blaming humans for individual bad weather events. Straws-in-the-wind stuff, based on an IPCC press release claiming a century of burning hydrocarbons had resulted in “more frequent and intense extreme weather events”.

To date, the IPCC has failed to detect that humans using hydrocarbons have led to worse bad weather on the simple scientific ground that it is impossible, with current data sources, to remove the overwhelming role of natural variation. Our story was prescient. It’s all change at the IPCC, with the appointment of Attribution Queen Friederike Otto and a troop of fellow attributionists to take charge of writing a new chapter on extreme weather for its forthcoming seventh climate science assessment report. 

With the foxes now in charge of the chicken coop, political order can be restored, with the IPCC science more closely aligned with current Net Zero political requirements. Dr Otto, who runs the Green Blob-funded World Weather Attribution (WWA) operation out of Imperial College, has been appointed the co-leader of the extreme weather chapter. “It will be a lot of work, but it also gives a lot of opportunity to shape the structure and focus of the chapter”, she notes. Net Zero: Ed Miliband’s Ponzi scheme

The Net Zero agenda is a Ponzi scheme. Each stage is an abject failure, leading to further grandiose and costly initiatives.

The UK’s attempts to reduce hydrocarbon fuel use have led to importing energy from elsewhere, and initiatives like wind turbines and solar panels have proven virtually useless. The proposed solutions, such as capturing energy from wind turbines and solar panels using batteries, are impractical and will lead to further environmental and economic problems.

The only beneficiaries of “Net Zero” are those who set up the scheme.

I don’t know if children still learn the cumulative rhyme about the old lady who swallowed a fly. Perhaps not, as it could be seen as advocating the exploitation of animals. In case you have forgotten, it goes like this:

I don’t know why she swallowed a fly – perhaps she’ll die!

That wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her;

And on it goes until, in pursuit of the last animal she swallowed, she swallows a cat, a dog, a goat, a cow and a horse. And dies.

I don’t know if our teachers realised, but they were teaching us about a Ponzi scheme where nothing of real value is independently generated, ending in a zero-sum game for investors and profiting only those who set up the scheme.

A similar thing is happening with the Net Zero agenda. Each stage in the agenda is an abject failure; therefore, further and more grandiose stages must be dreamed up with the promise of success. Eventually, people must see through this for the con that it is. But probably too late. We’ll have spent all our money on useless initiatives, our country will be in energy deficit, and our industry – what is left of it – will collapse in the wake of spiralling costs.

It all starts with the maniacal obsession with carbon dioxide emissions and the false belief that this leads to global warming, global warming leads to polar ice caps melting, rising seas and rising temperatures, old folks die, deserts are created and we must all carry an extra water bottle and stay indoors. Sounds terrifying but, as the film ‘Climate: The Movie’ shows, this is all palpable nonsense. Global warming precedes rising carbon dioxide, and carbon dioxide – needed by plants for growth – is good for the planet.

Suspicions Mount as Met Office Continues to Open More Junk Temperature Measuring Sites

 Evidence continues to mount that the UK Met Office is chasing ‘hottest evah’ temperature extremes by deliberately siting new measuring stations in locations likely to be affected by heat spikes and unnaturally warmed ambient air. 

In the last 10 years to the middle of 2024, 81.5% of new sites were junk Class 4 and 5 operations with potential internationally-recognised errors up to 2°C and 5°C respectively. Incredibly, eight of the 13 newly-opened sites over the last five years were of junk status. 

Now comes news of a new site recently opened in Wales at Whitesands that in the words of citizen super sleuth Ray Sanders, “appears to be a deliberate attempt to produce artificially elevated readings both now and ever increasingly in the future”.

It’s so bad, it beggars belief that it has been added to the official list of Met Office recording sites. For starters, it is a manual operation suggesting amateur involvement with all the human errors that might entail. Sanders, who is undertaking a scientific study of all 380 plus Met Office sites, notes that from the start date in May 2024, almost half the days had no record until the end of the year. But much worse is to be found in an examination of the actual siting. Its location on sand and sandy soils is hardly ideal since they absorb and release heat more readily than clay, loam or topsoil. This creates a microclimate that can skew temperature in the immediate vicinity.

Their report not only claims that summers will be drier, but that these impacts are already being felt. This claim is, however, bogus. Summers are no drier nowadays than they have been since 1840. Neither, for that matter, are they any wetter. We merely see the year-to-year variability we have always seen.

Moreover, across the year as a whole rainfall levels have been trending higher in the last 30 years. Water tables and reservoirs should, in theory, be fuller as a result, not lower.

How do they think they can get away with such bare-faced lies?

 County Durham is set to welcome a new solar farm after plans were given the green light for a second time, following a legal issue. The solar development will sprawl across approximately 282 acres of land at Hett, near Spennymoor.

Lightsource bp’s proposal initially received approval from Durham County Council’s planning committee in May 2024, but was revisited due to claims that the output capacity of the development was misrepresented.

The climate scaremongers: More lies from the crackpot Climate Change Committee

 The Climate Change Committee have warned the Government that the country is heading for disaster unless it quickly ramps up efforts to tackle what it calls ‘climate risks’.

In their latest Progress Report on Adaptation, they claim: ‘The increasing impacts of climate change are clear, both globally and in the UK. Adaptation is needed now to ensure that the UK is prepared for today’s extreme weather as well as the rapidly increasing severity of future risks. 

The costs of these impacts are already being felt, and the risks will continue to grow even if international targets to limit global warming are met. Action is needed now whilst we still have the opportunity to address these risks in a way that is both cost-effective and timely.’

They say that by 2050:

• Over half of England’s prime farmland, one in four homes and half of roads and rail lines will be at risk of flooding;

• Heat-related deaths could pass 10,000 in an average year;

• Unchecked climate change could cost 7 per cent of GDP.

Absurd claims such as these, which have no basis in reality, show that the CCC are a body that we should not take seriously. Their statement about floods ignores the reality that only a few thousand properties a year are affected by flooding, and there has been no upward trend in the numbers, according to official data from the Environment Agency:

And far from thousands dying from the heat, summer is still the season when death rates are at their lowest. As for 7 per cent of GDP, that equates to about £140billion a year, which is clearly ludicrous.

In reality, the UK climate has not changed a jot in the last 25 years, so is hardly likely to do so in the next 25 years. We have had a few hot summers in recent years, but none as hot as 1976 or 1995. And the wettest years were 1872, 1903 and 2000.

We are accustomed to silly scare stories like this, promises of Mediterranean summers, an end of snow and so on. In February 2012 the then Environment Secretary Caroline Spelman told us that drought may now be the new norm – just before the wettest summer on record. Four months later, ‘scientists’ said that the dull, damp weather that summer was, you guessed it, all the result of climate change!

This latest CCC report is just another attempt to bulldoze through their climate agenda, one that is already doing great harm to the country, a fact which the British public are beginning to wake up to....<<<Read More>>>...

Randall Carlson explains the hockey stick trick used to incite fear about global warming

 Over many decades, several thousand papers were published establishing the Medieval Warm Period from about 900 AD to 1300 AD and the Little Ice Age from about 1300 AD to 1915 AD as global climate changes.

It came as quite a surprise when, in 1998, Mann et al. concluded that neither the Medieval Warming Period nor the Little Ice Age happened. The fudged temperature graph became known as the “hockey stick graph,” but it should be referred to as the “hockey stick trick.”

The graph was prominently featured in the 2001 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Third Assessment Report and is used to this day to incite fear of man-made climate change.

Randall Carlson is an architect and architectural designer who has appeared on podcasts where he discusses climate change and geological events. He argues that the Earth naturally goes through climate cycles, that current mass extinctions may not be unprecedented and that human influence on climate change is overstated for political reasons.
