Lunatics have taken charge of the asylum: Peer-reviewed paper says genetically engineering ticks to spread meat allergies is "morally obligatory"

A recent peer-reviewed paper titled, Beneficial Bloodsucking, argues that alpha-gal syndrome — the tick-borne condition that can make people allergic to red meat — should be treated as a form of "moral bioenhancement."

The authors (Western Michigan University professors) argue that because they believe eating meat is morally wrong, intentionally spreading a meat allergy using CRISPR-edited ticks could make people more "virtuous" by forcing them away from mammalian meat.

The paper states that the "permissibility" of their proposal depends on genetically editing lone star ticks in three ways: 

Engineering ticks to carry alpha-gal syndrome. Engineering them to survive and spread more widely. Engineering them so they do not transmit other diseases such as tularemia or ehrlichiosis 

They specifically cite CRISPR-based tick gene editing as evidence that this kind of manipulation may be feasible, arguing that if scientists can edit ticks to affect Lyme disease transmission, then similar approaches may eventually be applied to lone star ticks.

The most disturbing line is their conclusion: they argue that promoting alpha-gal syndrome is "morally obligatory." WHO Emergency Use Listing scheme is designed to override national vaccine approval processes while taking no responsibility

 The World Health Organisation is developing a supranational vaccine authorisation mechanism – the Emergency Use Listing – which allows it to influence regulatory decisions inside sovereign states.

The mechanism aims to override national authorising bodies’ safety measures while absolving WHO and its funders of any legal responsibility.

There are no exemptions to informed consent

 Barbara Loe Fisher, co-founder and President of the National Vaccine Information Centre, emphasised the importance of informed consent regarding vaccination in a presentation to the Florida Department of Health.

European Commission is expanding its dictatorship

 The European Commission has been gaining power at the expense of not only the Member States but also other European Union (“EU”) institutions.

One area where the Commission has been taking assertive steps is foreign policy. It has created its own parallel roles to the EU High Representative’s mandate for defence, space and the Middle East.

The EU High Representative is appointed by the European Council, which comprises the heads of state or government of all EU member states. It follows that the Representative’s mandate is given/approved by EU countries.

Usurping the EU High Representative’s role is nothing short of a power grab by Ursula von der Leyen and her European Commission.

According to Article 15 of the Treaty of the European Union: “The European Council shall provide the Union with the necessary impetus for its development and shall define the general political directions and priorities thereof.” While the Treaties originally intended the European Council – the forum of the Heads of State or Government of the Member States – to be the primary decision-making body of the European Union, in recent years the European Commission has taken the lead.

Nipah Virus Triggers Another Bout of Hysteria in the Media

 A large outbreak of hysteria occurred in the media over the past week regarding a small Nipah virus outbreak in eastern India. ‘Hysteria’ is the correct word in terms of proportionality. It is not, unfortunately, the right word in terms of intent. Ten years ago this episode of Nipah virus disease would barely have rated a mention internationally, and certainly not stimulated airport screening and travel warnings – there have been many larger outbreaks of Nipah virus than this one which did not.

The change over recent years is not that people have lost their minds. It relates to the adoption of the fear-panic-profit model that has entrenched itself in international public health. Tens of billions in annual funding are on the table, and they depend – with the thousands of salaries and exorbitant Pharma profits tied to the pandemic industry – on the maintenance of a constant sense of imminent threat.

The World Health Organisation reports two cases from this Nipah outbreak, which is fewer than usual. As is common, they involve health service personnel, a group that is often infected by the virus before the diagnosis is clear in the patients they care for. Nipah virus infection historically has a high mortality rate among those infected, and each death is a tragedy, especially in those who are infected through caring for others. Big Pharma captured vaccine regulation in the US more than a century ago

The pharmaceutical industry has significant power and influence over governments, media and universities, shaping vaccine regulation and policy.

The history of vaccine regulation dates back to the 19th century, with the Biologics Control Act of 1902 being a key turning point. This Act was actually pushed by the pharmaceutical industry itself to eliminate competition and boost public confidence in biologics.

The industry’s hold on the US government was cemented with the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986, which granted a liability shield to vaccine manufacturers, and the Bayh-Dole Act of 1980, which allowed for the privatisation of patents.

Among the many incredible revelations over the past five years is the extent of the power of the pharmaceutical companies. Through advertising, they have been able to shape media content. That in turn has affected digital content companies, which responded from 2020 onward by taking down posts that questioned the safety and efficacy of covid vaccines.

They have captured universities and medical journals with donations and other forms of financial control. Finally, they are far more decisive in driving the agenda of governments than we ever knew. Just for example, we found out in 2023 that the US National Institutes of Health (“NIH”) shared thousands of patents with pharma, with a market value approaching US$1-2 billion. This was all made possible by the Bayh-Dole Act of 1980, which was pushed as a form of privatisation but only ended up entrenching the worst corporatist corruptions.

The hold over governments was cemented with the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986, which granted a liability shield to the makers of products that appear on the childhood schedule. Face Masks Harmed Care Home Residents in Ways No Health and Safety Apparatchik Can Ever Understand

 As a self-employed social care consultant and former care home inspector I visit over 100 care homes each year to conduct mock Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspections. During the COVID-19 epoch, when face masks went on in care homes, I witnessed a dramatically negative shift in atmosphere, spirit and human connection. Something profound was lost and, as I told the makers of the documentary Masking Humanity, despite what the guidance may have suggested, it wasn’t safety we gained in return.

In March 2020 there was fear and uncertainty everywhere in social care. The arrival of COVID-19 in care homes was coincident with excess death rates. I recall one 56-bed home in Northwest England that saw 50% of its residents die within in one month. A few weeks later the senior team looked like they were experiencing PTSD symptoms. At this time the use of masks was not mandated, the prevailing view amongst politicians and their advisors being they were ineffective. Nevertheless, when panic strikes any straw will be grasped and it seemed to many masks ‘just might’ be effective and were ‘worth a try’. As a result, and understandable within a context of widespread anxiety, care homes strove to procure masks and other PPE as best they could.

From June 2020, probably partly to create an appearance of action, the guidance issued by infection control teams made a U-turn. Masks became ‘mandated’ and care home staff wore them diligently. The summer months went by with few or no COVID-19 cases, and care staff, perhaps wanting to connect their efforts with the good results, began to believe it was the masks and assorted PPE that were keeping COVID-19 away. We now know that, unsurprisingly, there were very few COVID-19 cases nationally at that time and this apparent success was a mere coincidence.

With the perception that masks were working having taken root, when set against their apparent life-saving qualities, concerns and complaints about the downsides of masks seemed to be of low importance, often being ascribed to stupidity and selfishness on behalf of the sceptics raising them. Super Flu? More Like Super Hype

 The BBC informs us that we have entered a ‘Super-Flu’ crisis, “unlike anything since the pandemic”. Other outlets scream that hospitals are facing a “worst case scenario”. Wes Streeting expands by telling us that a “tidal wave of flu” is tearing through them. Schools have closed pre-emptively, particularly in Wales. Some closures are to provide ‘firebreaks’, not because they have many cases. Leeds schoolchildren have been told not to sing in assembly. Shadowy ‘NHS Leaders’ advise the public to wear masks, with this recommendation shuffling-ly endorsed by the PM. Masking has been mandated at a few hospitals. Vaccination is being pushed, including of toddlers ‘to protect granny’.

It is all horribly reminiscent of 2020-21.

The actual statistics, published yesterday by the UKHSA and covering the period up to December 11th, therefore come as a surprise. They tell that “influenza activity [has] increased and [the virus] is circulating at ‘medium’ levels”, as confirmed by lab testing and GP surveillance.

‘Medium’ doesn’t feature widely in the Super-Flu headlines.

Yet it seems accurate. Figures 1-3, from the UKHSA’s report, illustrate GP consultations for influenza-like illness, then hospitalisations and then ICU/high dependency admissions for laboratory-confirmed influenza. We Need Properly Funded Palliative Care, Not Suicide on the State

 When the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill was debated in the House of Lords last month, the Bill’s sponsor, Lord Falconer, argued that it would improve palliative care.

That view isn’t shared by Toby Porter, the CEO of Hospice Care UK. He testified before the Terminally Ill Adults Bill select committee in the House of Lords last week and warned that hospices are facing “significant cuts”. The last thing they need is for NHS funds to be diverted to an assisted dying service.

The NHS already struggles to provide enough GPs, consultants, nurses and psychiatrists to meet demand. Yet the Bill assumes there will always be qualified professionals on hand to assess patients, confirm mental capacity, and prescribe life-ending medication. In reality, those resources are already stretched to breaking point.

The Royal College of Psychiatrists has stated repeatedly, including last week in the special committee set up in the Lords, that it also doesn’t support the Bill. It doesn’t feel psychiatrists will be able to properly assess mental capacity and consent in their proposed roles on the panels.

Wes Streeting has repeatedly emphasised that the budget for the assisted dying service – the Bill’s name for the proposed suicide unit – would come out of the NHS budget, meaning other services would have to be cut to fund it, at least in the short term.

There are also practical questions that no one seems to have answers to. The Bill insists patients must self-administer the life-ending drugs – one of the so-called “safeguards”. But many patients in palliative care – those with Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s, or simply very advanced illnesses – can’t even self-administer their regular painkillers. Nor can they walk to a pharmacy to pick up a prescription. Would the life-ending drugs be delivered by post? If relatives collect them and hand them to their loved ones, would they risk prosecution? Or would they need to be handed to patients by doctors who would then be required to stand over them while they swallow the lethal pills?

That last method is the one suggested by the Bill, with doctors being allowed to “assist [the patient] to ingest or otherwise self-administer the substance”, i.e., they could spoon the poison into their mouth. They will also be permitted to prepare “a device which will enable [the patient] to self-administer the substance“ i.e., set up an intravenous line with an infusion which the patient would then have to activate.

In practice, this would create a system very similar to how euthanasia works in Canada where the majority of deaths are by IV infusion, with the only difference being that in the UK the patient presses the button. Doctors who administer or help administer the lethal drugs in this way are also required by the Bill to stay with the patient until they die and it’s worth bearing in mind that in Oregon deaths have taken up to 137 hours to occur after the suicide pills have been taken. Although I opted out the last time I got an NHS message telling me that because of my age I was eligible for a free flu and covid jab, I am still getting these texts. I have had two recently and this time I am ignoring them as clearly there is no point in going through the palaver of attempting to opt out. They just take no notice.

The message goes on that it’s best to get vaccinated as soon as possible although they don’t tell you why. Bending over backwards to be helpful, the message adds: ‘Contact your GP if you need a home visit.’

Great. Yet if I wanted to book a doctor’s appointment or home visit for anything else, I probably wouldn’t be able to. So how is it that doctors have endless time to jab people or even to make home visits, but none for proper consultations?

As a case in point, a friend recently broke her arm in two places, and her GP was informed. Has her GP contacted her in any way, arranged a consultation or a home visit? No. There has been complete silence, not even a phone call to ask how her recovery is proceeding.

We are endlessly informed that these vaccinations are the best way of protecting yourself from viruses that circulate over the winter months. So if the jabs are so good, why are even jabbed people going down with flu and what passes for covid every year?

The old excuse that yes, jabbed up you may still get flu or covid, or both, but not as seriously as if you were unvaccinated, is still being trotted out, and astonishingly, all too many people are falling for it.

At the same time as these urgent texts to get jabbed are being sent to every octogenarian’s phone, scare stories have been appearing in the media about a new covid surge. Hospital admissions are rising, we are warned, and no fewer than 3,049 cases of covid were reported in the week ending October 1. This is a very precise number, so where the hell did it come from? Or, more likely, where was it dreamed up?

The ‘experts’, whoever they may be, are telling us that two strains of covid, known as Nimbus and Stratus, are now proliferating and are highly infectious. Symptoms of these new variants include a ‘razor blade’ sore throat, hoarseness and nausea. These are exactly the same symptoms that characterise ordinary colds and flu, of course.

As it’s difficult, if not impossible, to distinguish between a standard winter cold and covid, it’s important, say some doctors, to take a test with a covid testing kit.

We are assured that you can still get these tests.  And certainly, you can.  They are now available in every pharmacy and supermarket, with prices ranging from 99p to about £18. In this way the covid industry rumbles on, picking up speed all the time. Kennedy Jr., ultimately proved manageable, though it did spread across multiple Texas counties and infected hundreds of residents.

According to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), the outbreak resulted in 762 confirmed infections statewide, with approximately 100 hospitalizations and two deaths. That figure represents a fatality rate of 0.26 percent—low compared to historic measles mortality, but still a sobering reminder of the virus’s dangers. Importantly, no new cases have been reported since July 1, and with more than six weeks passing without infections, the state has now officially declared the outbreak over.

Much of the transmission was clustered within Mennonite communities in Texas, where vaccination uptake is lower than the statewide average.
