An egregore is a collective thoughtform, a mental construct that's created when a group of people come together with a shared belief, idea, or purpose.  What are thoughts – are they real, and once created are they things that exist independent of our minds? Are they constructs created by our soul’s mental and emotional faculties?

f so, how do these faculties mould consciousness into the creation of thoughts? In many of the world’s religions, mystical and esoteric traditions there is a belief that once a thought comes into being it becomes a real entity that exists separately from the thinker.

The first time I became aware that our thoughts had a profound effect on our personal reality was as an adolescent in reference to Mark 7:15 in the Bible. In this passage Jesus says, “There is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man.”

Thoughtforms, Tulpas & Egregores

 [Anomalien]: What are thoughts – are they real, and once created are they things that exist independent of our minds? Are they constructs created by our soul’s mental and emotional faculties?

If so, how do these faculties mould consciousness into the creation of thoughts? In many of the world’s religions, mystical and esoteric traditions there is a belief that once a thought comes into being it becomes a real entity that exists separately from the thinker.

The word thoughtform has various spellings. In some cases, it is spelled thought form or thought–form, but I have put the two words together as one word, thoughtform, reflecting a single construct.

Thoughtforms and tulpas are created by focusing on a single thought and infusing that thought with intense emotions, becoming a separate mental/energetic thing. Once created, thoughtforms and tulpas exist in all spiritual realities and make up what is known as the imaginal realm.

The imaginal realm interpenetrates all existence and is the repository of collective thought formations and energies. Thoughtforms and tulpas can be experienced physically, but in most cases they are experienced as apparitions. Nonetheless, they exist as separate entities manifesting both as physical and apparitional formations.

Tulpas are thoughtforms that have their origin in Tibetan Buddhism and the Bön religion. In these traditions tulpas are consciously created beings or objects. The word tulpa literally means to build or to construct.

In Tibetan Buddhism those who create tulpas are naljorpas and tulkus. Naljorpas are ascetics possessing magical powers and tulkus are special lamas that consciously incarnate into their next lifetime as bodhisattvas (highly evolved spiritual beings). Sometimes being 'enigmatic' and 'empowered' can go against you. Your strong vibration, to the ignorant and the unitiated, can work against you. The classic 'space clearing' by frightened egregores may get you evicted from situations. The ignorant don't know why they feel threatened by your presence, they just know they don't like the feeling of 'fear' when you are around. 

A Workplace Egregore

Another type of Egregore thought form formation can occur in a work place, when there is a group of colleagues who have built up a rapport with each other over time, and are almost existing in that workplace environment as one entity. They spend time with each other in work, and out of work.

Then there is the one employee in the work place who is not part of that group, but who works with this group, who doesn't share the same rapport with them.

Gradually over time, the one individual will begin to feel uncomfortable, and out of place ... until he or she eventually leaves. This can be an intentional will/wish of the group ... or it can just be created without any of the group being unaware that they are pushing the individual out. Quite often, there will be one person within the group who is jealous of the solitary worker; or doesn't like the solitary worker for whatever reason. This person within the tight knit group can then work on his/her fellow workers to also not like the solitary worker. They can thus influence the group mind, or the egregore ... and then push the group to exert some disapproval on the solitary person ... resulting in the solitary co-worker to quit.

This can equally work when there is an established close knitted group within a workplace and a new employee starts in the work place ... very soon the new employee could get a vibe that they are not wanted ... and thus leave ... this can be either an intentional will by one or more members of the group ... or a subconscious intention.

A Fear Egregore

When a group of like minded people, with the same state of mind or the same intention; who perhaps seek the same objective towards a person or a situation, set their will and their mind to the task something magical can happen.

This is a specific thought form known as an Egregore. The formation of this thought from can be said to be created by black magic - which has a detrimental intention - or by white magic, which can be for the good of the situation. 

Depending on the number of minds set at this intention outcome, determines the power of this Egregore.

A living person on the receiving end of an Egregore is likely to feel a strong will or state of mind against them. Often when they come into contact with one of the minds casting this egregore, they will feel the intention psychically. The power of one of these magical thought forms can literally force a person to move out of an area, or district, such is the power of the will of the group of people behind the egregore.

The person will only feel this thought form's will power lessen once the intention of that thought form is carried out. Quite often this type of Egregore can be manufactured unintentionally and is more often than not fuelled by a group of person's fear of their victim.

Also, there can be an instance when a number of knowledgeable magicians can begin summoning an Egregore to rid themselves of a rival, or someone they fear, and don't have enough energy on their own to undertake the action. So they then influence a group or community of people, to also be fearful of the individual. They will drive the thought processes of these people, through rumours and false claims, so the group of people turn against the victim, and provide the energy source these knowledgeable magicians need to rid themselves of their rival. This form of Egregore is quite obviously created by black magic means. The victim may well leave the community, or have something negative happen to them ... but there is always a come back on those who created this intentional egregore.

The Power Of Thoughts – Introduction Into Egregores

The Diamond Tablet: We often hear that ‘thoughts have a real power’, most people tend to perceive this phrase as some sort of an allegory, though.

Meanwhile, its meaning should be taken absolutely literally. Our thoughts are what creates our lives, influences our health, successes or failures and also initiate the process what we call ‘karma’.

Let’s look at it closer.It was only recently that the scientists managed to discover that our thoughts have a mass. They conducted an experiment, in which the ultra-precise scales have shown that a person mass was slightly increasing during a process of intensive visualisation and decreasing while in trance. There were also allegedly successful attempts of photographing thoughts, which revealed that positive thoughts have a regular structure and clear colours, while negative thoughts are ugly misshaped and their colours are murky.

That corresponds with the discovery of a Japanese scientist Masaru Emoto, who managed to establish a link between our thoughts and crystals of water. In his experiment, Emoto wrote words in different languages and attached them to test-tubes. He then froze the samples of water and photographed the crystals. Comparing to the crystals of ‘untreated’ water, the samples which were exposed to the influence of different words, changed their shapes in accordance to the meaning. Water from the test-tubes with words like ‘thank you’, ‘love’, ‘harmony’ etc has developed beautifully formed crystals, while the samples treated with hateful words produced crystals which were visibly distorted....read more>>>....

A Word on "Psychic Attacks"

Anyone who has suffered the effects of a sudden, and unprecedented, psychic attack will know how powerless you feel during the attack. Often it is an unseen force at work, and you are subjected a particularly nasty vibrational energy.

It is not a pleasant experience, but it is something that has to be endured fearlessly. Fear will only magnify the energy that is being directed at you, and thus prolong the attack. The best thing to do is to remain calm and let the energy have its intended effect. Sadly, once an attack is underway, from experience, it can only stop when the servitor, or egregore, that has been created and sent your way, has run out of the energy it has been created from.

A psychic attack is a real occurrence, it is not something that is imagined. It is basically a menace in a magician's daily life, because there are always those out there who choose to misuse, and waste, their own life force on these rather disappointing pursuits.

Once the attack ends, just as suddenly as it began, it found there is always a feeling of peace and calmness immediately after the attack. By focusing, not on the negative aspect of the attack, but on the experience of the attack, it is possible to avoid suffering any long term traumas related to being violated in this way. Quite often it is not possible to know who is the creator of the servitor, or the initiator of the attack - perhaps we are not meant to be know. Perhaps it is not a human entity that has caused the attack, maybe it is something more sinister.

All we know is that the best way to avoid any similar attacks in the future is to mentally analyse the moments preceding the attack, for any clues as to recognisable trigger points or tell tale signs an attack is imminent. Perhaps it is then possible to have some kind of mental or psychic alarm bell to become activated next time a psychic attack occurs. Remember, however, psychic attacks will always dissipate as they only have a limited energy ... remember also that it is technically created from the life force/thought form force of the attacks initiator. If there are numerous attacks recognised as belonging to the same initiator ... it means it is literally 'killing' them to keep attacking you in this way. They will always come off worse than you if you calmly let the psychic attack run its course.

The Real Meaning of Egregore

The word "Egregore" derives from the Greek word egrégoroi, meaning "watchers", which also transliterates as "grigori". The word appears in the Septuagint translation of the Book of Lamentations, as well as the Book of Jubilees and the Book of Enoch. Even being derived from the word Grigori, which acquired a somewhat negative aspectation over the time, the general concept of Egregore is not evil. Gaetan Delaforge, in Gnosis Magazine in 1987, defines an Egregore as a kind of group mind which is created when people consciously come together for a common purpose.
Psychologically speaking, an Egregore is that "atmosphere” or "personality" that develops among groups independent of any of its members. It is the feeling or impression you get when walking into a neighborhood that “feels different” from the surrounding area, or when visiting a club or association that has been around for a long time.

The vast majority of human beings both incarnated and dis-incarnated are, in one way or form, connected to an Egregore. An Egregore can be either negative or positive, depending on the level of vibration and the frequency. Most of the connections with negative Egregore come from negative contracts made with physical or astral entities in exchange of power, fame or material goods. Also, some of these contracts or pacts can come from emotional persecutions, which at some point was born of the intent to keep the victim under its dominion to the extent of various earthly and parallel lifetimes. Dislodging Negative Entities

Just as there are physical pathogens like bacteria, viruses, and parasites, so are there nonphysical pathogens in the form of etheric parasites, discarnate humans, aliens and demonic beings that can attach themselves to a living person, drain their energy and influence their thoughts, feelings, and personality.

The present situation is analogous to how several centuries ago society knew nothing of physical pathogens and the bacterial and viral origins of disease. They fell ill and knew neither the cause nor medical remedy. Likewise, today people get attachments and know neither the cause nor remedy.

Etheric parasites are negative thoughtforms, which are temporary beings generated in the etheric plane. The etheric plane is a nonphysical substructure underlying our material reality. Etheric energies and constructs are invisible “metadata” that can influence physical events at the quantum level. In occultism they are also called tulpas, egregores, or larvae.Etheric parasites are generated by human thoughts infused with emotion and intent.

This creates an energetic construct in the ether akin to an eddy in a river but imbued with artificial intelligence and purpose. Its most common purpose is to continue its own survival by feeding off the same kinds of energy that gave rise to it. A Word on 'Egregore'

.."An egregore is a kind of group mind which is created when people consciously come together for a common purpose. Whenever people gather together to do something and egregore is formed, but unless an attempt is made to maintain it deliberately it will dissipate rather quickly. However if the people wish to maintain it and know the techniques of how to do so, the egregore will continue to grow in strength and can last for centuries."

An egregore has the characteristic of having an effectiveness greater than the mere sum of its individual members. It continuously interacts with its members, influencing them and being influenced by them. The interaction works positively by stimulating and assisting its members but only as long as they behave and act in line with its original aim. It will stimulate both individually and collectively all those faculties in the group which will permit the realization of the objectives of its original program. If this process is continued a long time the egregore will take on a kind of life of its own, and can become so strong that even if all its members should die, it would continue to exist on the inner dimensions and can be contacted even centuries later by a group of people prepared to live the lives of the original founders, particularly if they are willing to provide the initial input of energy to get it going again.

If the egregore is concerned with spiritual or esoteric activities its influence will be even greater. People who discover the keys can tap in on a powerful egregore representing, for example, a spiritual or esoteric tradition, will, if they follow the line described above by activating and maintaining such an egregore, obtain access to the abilities, knowledge, and drive of all that has been accumulated in that egregore since its beginnings. Agroup ororder which manages to do this can, with a clear conscience, claim to be an authentic order of the tradition represented by that egregore. In my view this is the only yardstick by which a genuine Templar order should be measured." (Chaos Matrix)

Egregores are artificial or spontaneously created elementals born from the spiritual, cultural and philosophical ties of a group and are given life and fueled by agreement, offerings and recognition.  Originally meaning “watcher” as they were elementals created by magical groups to keep watch over workings and protect against physical and non physical dangers and intruders.  Many pagan and esoteric groups consider “godforms” as egregores which are jointly created by the divine spirit and the god’s followers.  Egregores can be born, forgotten and evolve as in the case with aspects of godforms from ancient history.  Many have been worshipped as gods and have offerings and religions built around them such as Catholic Saints are good exampled of personified minor godforms some being pagan deities and others originating from real people who have been canonized.

Some of these personified egregores can be viral such as Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny without a central authority but still suspended with kids believing in them and adults knowing they are not real.  The creators (writers, corporate executives, actors and artists) of some personified egregores are equivalent to a priesthood. The collective actions, agreement, spirit, personification, imagery, traditions, cultural impact and interactions surrounding  of their fans, keepers and creators results in a collective group soul that manifests to have almost a karma, behaviors, style, destiny and personality.

Egregores, Gotos and Channelling

Phil Hine: The term egregore is derived from a Greek word meaning "to be aware of" or "to watch over". An egregore is commonly understood to be magical entity purposefully created by a group or order as an encapsulation of the group's collective aspirations and ideals.

One such example is the entity GOTOS, created by the adepts of the Fraternitas Saturni. Stephen E. Flowers, in "Fire & Ice" (Llewellyn Publications, 1994) describes the function of GOTOS as:

"Through the experience of the GOTOS the Saturnian Brother or Sister is able to feel directly the qualities of personality that he or she is expected to develop as an initiate of the FS: compassionless love, willpower, resolution, severity (with him- or herself and others). These are developed in order to create the conditions for higher spiritual development through mastery of oneself and the environment. In other words, these are the characteristics of the Saturnian magician."

Flowers goes on to relate how certain initiates within the FS were able to gain 'astral visions' of the humanoid appearance of the GOTOS, and that it's image was subsequently cast in bronze. According to Flowers, all members of the FS at one time possessed a bust of the GOTOS in their private sanctuaries. From what Flowers relates concerning the relationship between the FS and the GOTOS, it appears to have been utilised as a source of 'psychic power' - tapped into through both lodge and individual work as a source of fortitude and resolve, and a guide in the collective developmental aspirations of the FS.

Flowers notes the similarity between the concept of the GOTOS and the Golden Dawn's use of "Secret Chiefs". However, there are some major differences which help define the nature of an egregore. In esoteric movements such as the Golden Dawn or the Theosophical Society, the Secret Chiefs or Inner-Plane Adepts were remote figures, accessible only to the leaders of the organisations, who's 'ability' to make contact with them became a source of legitimisation for their mundane authority in those bodies. From what Flowers tells us, access to the GOTOS in the FS appears not to have been restricted. Further, whilst the Secret Chiefs/Inner Plane Adepts appear to have only been vaguely defined (by those who claimed contact with them), the persona of the GOTOS of the FS appears to be very clearly defined.

Another aspect of the egregore is the notion of direct communication nowadays known as 'channelling', and much-practised by the white-light magical orders and so-called Spiritualists.
