On May 5, Microsoft’s Skype will shut down for good

After more than 21 years, Skype will soon be no more. Last night, some users (including Ars readers) poked around in the latest Skype preview update and noticed as-yet-unsurfaced text that read "Starting in May, Skype will no longer be available. Continue your calls and chats in Teams."

This morning, Microsoft has confirmed to Ars that it's true. May 5, 2025, will mark the end of Skype's long run.

Alongside the verification that the end is nigh, Microsoft shared a bunch of details about how it plans to migrate Skype users over. Starting right away, some Skype users (those in Teams and Skype Insider) will be able to log in to Teams using their Skype credentials. More people will gain that ability over the next few days....<<<Read More>>>...

Now is the time to bring censorship giant Microsoft to heel

Silicon Valley is a famously difficult environment for incumbents. Today’s unstoppable juggernaut can quickly become tomorrow’s has-been. Just ask Xerox, Intel, or Yahoo.

So it says a lot that Microsoft is still on top as the world’s second-largest company by market cap, fifty years after its founding and more than thirty years after becoming the juggernaut of American software.

The company has thrived through both good and bad periods for tech and under both Republican and Democrat presidencies. The company pairs technical talent with real political savvy, and that savvy has been on full display with the arrival of the second Trump administration....<<<Read More>>>...

Microsoft CEO hints that upcoming AI “misinformation” censorship tools might DISABLE your Windows PC for questioning establishment narratives about the election

To ensure the 2024 election goes smoothly for the globalists, Microsoft is unleashing artificial intelligence (AI) to stop the spread of "misinformation" that threatens to allow an unapproved candidate to win.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella revealed to NBC's Lester Holt on NBC Nightly News' January 30 edition that his company hopes to use the latest advancements in AI technology to fight "disinformation" that he fears could result in another Donald Trump win.

"This is not the first election where we dealt with disinformation or propaganda campaigns by adversaries and election interference," Nadella explained to Holt.

"We're doing all the work across the tech industry around watermarking, detecting deep fakes and content IDs. There is going to be enough and more technology quite frankly in order to be able to identify the issues around disinformation and misinformation."

In the future, Microsoft's AI endeavors could make it possible to shut down people's personal computers (PCs), should they be caught accessing or spreading information that Nadella feels is a threat to democracy.

Nadella says he is encouraged by the fact that Big Tech corporations like Microsoft are increasingly partnering with law enforcement to crack down on information that threatens the establishment, but he feels a whole lot more needs to be done to keep a lid on the spread of unapproved information....<<<Read More>>>...

Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web, calls for an end to all independent speech

[Natural News]: Under the guise of protecting “digital rights,” World Wide Web founder Tim Berners-Lee has launched a “Contract for the Web” that calls for an end to the “misuse” of the internet by governments, companies and individuals.

Endorsed by Google, Microsoft and Facebook, as well as by the governments of France, Germany and Ghana, Berners-Lee’s Contract for the Web emphasizes the “need” for stronger laws and regulations to create “a road map to build a better web.”

“If we don’t act now – and act together – to prevent the web being misused by those who want to exploit, divide and undermine, we are at risk of squandering” the internet’s potential for good, Berners-Lee said in a statement issued by his World Wide Web Foundation....<<<Read The Full Article Here>>>>

Microsoft now conspiring with pro-Monsanto front group “NewsGuard” to censor all anti-GMO news on mobile devices

Natural News: Microsoft has just unveiled its plans to partner up with NewsGuard, a “startup” company bent on censoring the world wide web, disguised as an app that helps users weed out “fake news.”

Now, instead of being an app that users can choose to download, Microsoft will be incorporating the technology as an integrated feature of their mobile web browser, Edge. If you use your cellphone to surf the web, Edge might not be the best choice — unless you enjoy being spoon-fed leftist propaganda by a neocon corporation that is tied to Monsanto.

As if the blatant censorship of conservatives across social media wasn’t bad enough, Microsoft and NewsGuard are now conspiring to suppress all kinds of information, ranging from conservative news organizations to scientific literature exposing the dangers of GMOs....read more>>>...
