Microsoft Adds Age Verification System to Windows

The age-check machinery is coming to Windows, and Microsoft has already handed developers the playbook even though the system itself remains switched off.

According to a report from Reclaim The Net: Free Speech, Privacy, Digital Rights, the company has published developer instructions for an application programming interface that is not yet live. Once activated, the API will let Windows 11 apps learn a user’s age bracket and whether that age has been confirmed by an identity provider.

The brackets are blunt: under 10, 10 to 12, 13 to 15, 16 to 17, and 18 and over. Verification status arrives as one of five results — Verified, Unverified, OptedOut, TemporarilyUnavailable, or NotApplicable.

Microsoft has not named the identity providers that will carry out these checks, nor has it said what proof they will demand. The company states only that the second value returned by the interface will show “whether the user’s age has been independently verified by the identity provider.”

Redmond presents the tool as a privacy safeguard, a way for apps to learn an age range without receiving a date of birth or other personal details. Microsoft describes it as a privacy-preserving mechanism meant to help developers satisfy child-safety rules. The same report argues that legislation demanding this kind of technology in operating systems is really about making age checks, and the identity checks that follow, a routine feature of digital life.

An age signal does not hand over a user’s exact age. It instead lets an app change content, features, or access based on the reported range and verification status. Microsoft lists uses that include user-generated content, social and communication tools, in-app purchases, virtual currencies, and maturity-rated media.

The interface is still dormant. Microsoft says it will not return usable data until it is turned on later in the year and is releasing the documentation now so developers can prepare. Anyone who calls the API today will be told the user’s age is unknown and that verification is unavailable.....<<<Read More>>>...

Britain’s Speech Police: How the State Learned to Fear its People

With 62,000 people arrested for speech crimes in five years, the UK can no longer claim to be a free society, says Paul Birch. The state has learned to fear its people and will no longer tolerate them speaking freely.

Many of us in Britain still flatter ourselves that we live in a free country. Although the UK isn’t quite a police state (not yet anyway), neither is it a country in which the individual can any longer speak without glancing over his or her shoulder. The old compact of a liberal society was simple – the state punished genuine criminality, while opinion was left to the rough justice of argument, satire and public disagreement.

That compact has now been comprehensively torn up. Across Britain, speech that would once have been answered by rebuttal or humour is now treated as a matter for police, regulators and secretive Whitehall machinery. A report published this week by civil liberties and privacy campaigning organisation Big Brother Watch states that more than 62,000 people in the United Kingdom were arrested for communications offences over a five year period, with at least 18,500 charged and 12,292 convicted. These numbers should alarm anyone who still believes the citizen is master and the state is servant....<<<Read More>>>...

Government’s desperate attempt to control the narrative: in the last five years, over 62,000 people have been arrested in the UK for posting hurty words online

Over 62,000 people in the United Kingdom were arrested for online communications offences over five years ending in 2026, according to a report by Big Brother Watch.

These arrests, which include offences related to social media posts and online messages, resulted in 18,510 charges and 12,292 convictions.

The data reveals significant disparities in enforcement, with Cumbria Police recording arrest rates roughly 2.5 times the national average, while neighbouring forces like Northumbria had rates 14 times lower. Critics describe the situation as an “Orwellian mess” with a “chilling effect” on free speech....<<<Read More>>>....

Automated number plate recognition cameras are being used for data laundering

Flock Safety operates approximately 120,000 automated license plate readers (“ALPRs”), also known as automatic number-plate recognition (“ANPR”) systems, across 49 US states. Its network of cameras includes contracts with over 7,000 organisations, including over 5,000 law enforcement agencies.

Flock cameras promise easier policing by destroying the Fourth Amendment – creating a permanent, searchable, warrantless database of everywhere Americans go, Tanner Turnpaugh explains....<<<Read More>>>...

Tyranny is a ‘Smart’ Motorway

Over the last 20 years or so, we’ve become very used to anti-traffic measures blighting our daily lives, introduced in the name of safety, cleaner air, Net Zero, healthy living, ‘won’t somebody think of the children’, or some combination of these. Particularly for those of us who live in urban Britain, or travel regularly into British towns and cities, we have had to learn to live with 20 mile-an-hour zones, segregated bike lanes, LTNs, LEZ, ULEZ, congestion charges and many other petty intrusions.

The recent green light for the ’15 minute city’ in Oxford will no doubt rapidly metastasise through the country. These bureaucratic encroachments on the urban motorist are quite transparent in their intent – all of them are obviously revenue raising schemes for fiscally incontinent local authorities and designed to make sure that getting behind the wheel of your car is such an unpleasant and expensive prospect that you’ll only consider it under the direst of circumstances. Since we’re not incurably credulous, the sensible among us recognise that this is the work of minor technocrats with frustrated ambitions, using what little power they have to exert a little bit more control over us, make our lives just a little bit less free and enjoyable and raise some funds in the process. My local council recently introduced LTN cameras on several streets in the borough, ostensibly to stop those roads being used as ‘rat runs’. They held multiple consultation meetings, with overwhelmingly negative feedback from residents. Nonetheless, they then introduced a trial – again, with negative feedback. At the end of the trial, they declared success and made the set up permanent. Purely coincidentally, they raised several millions of pounds from fines issued during the trial period.

Doubtless, variable speed limits on motorways raise revenue from speed cameras and certainly they put you off using the road unless you absolutely have to get a family of four plus dog and luggage from point A to distant point B. More importantly, though, they are infantilising: they are the state as helicopter parent, terrified that if it leaves us to our own devices we might make bad decisions with bad consequences. Somewhere in a central control room, a computer program designed by experts for the purpose, makes a decision on your behalf based on information from road-surface sensors and constant CCTV. A specially selected and trained functionary keeps an eye on the system and intervenes when necessary or at whim. In big red and white lights, the state tells us: ‘We do not trust your judgement. You are an unruly child and it’s best if we set your boundaries.’ Big, black and white clip art cameras also say: ‘You are under supervision. Don’t forget it.’ Shabana Mahmood’s Benthamite panopticon in action....<<<Read More>>>....

The digital panopticon: License plate readers are tracking you everywhere you go

A nationwide network of automated license plate readers (ALPRs), primarily from companies like Flock Safety, is capturing and storing detailed location data on billions of American drivers.

These systems, deployed in thousands of communities, record not just license plates but also vehicle make, model, color and unique features, creating a digital "fingerprint" for each car.

Privacy advocates and civil liberties organizations like the ACLU warn this constitutes a form of mass surveillance, creating permanent records of citizens' movements without suspicion of a crime. Security vulnerabilities have been exposed, with live camera feeds and real-time vehicle data from some systems leaking onto the public internet without password protection.

The technology, funded by prominent Silicon Valley investors, raises significant Fourth Amendment concerns about unreasonable search and seizure, with calls for stricter regulation and data retention limits....<<<Read More>>>...

The trillion-dollar biotech industry is facing failure – and it’s because of covid injections

The biotechnology industry, valued at $1.74 trillion, is facing failure and criticism due to the high rate of adverse effects and excess deaths associated with mRNA covid-19 injections.

In an effort to save themselves, the industry is trying to bypass safety testing and regulation, and is profiting from lightly regulated areas such as animal veterinary care and biotechnology food processing, while launching a fightback through opinion pieces in corporate media....<<<Read More>>>...

EU’s technocratic border control will be launched in October; it applies to all non-EU visitors

From 12 October, all visitors to all European Union countries will have their biometric data collected and stored by a centralised agency. This agency will not only collect data on our movements but will also collect data from the criminal and justice systems. In the future, it will also be collecting data from air carriers in advance on passengers.

On 30 July, the EU Commission published a press release about “the progressive start of operations of the EU’s Entry/Exit System (EES)” which will be launched on 12 October. This new EES will affect all non-EU nationals who travel to 29 European countries that make up the Schengen area.

“The EES is an advanced technological system that will digitally record the entries and exits of non-EU nationals … It will capture biometric data, such as fingerprints, facial image, and other travel information, gradually replacing the current system of passport stamping,” the press release states....<<<Read More>>>...

How Engineered Dependency Erases Our Autonomy

Picture this: Your smartphone dies while you’re on a trip, and suddenly, you’re helpless—unable to navigate, pay, or even access your hotel reservation.

This isn’t hypothetical; it’s our reality. According to DataReportal’s ‘Digital 2024 Global Overview Report‘ the average person now spends over 7 hours daily on digital devices, with 47% reporting anxiety when separated from their phones.

What once was a minor inconvenience has now become a crisis, revealing how deeply we’ve integrated technology into our daily existence—from ordering coffee to proving our identity.

George Orwell envisioned a dystopia of forced submission, but he missed something crucial: people willingly surrendering their freedoms for convenience. As Shoshana Zuboff details in The Age of Surveillance Capitalism, this willingness to trade privacy for convenience represents a fundamental shift in how power operates in the digital age. We don’t need Big Brother watching us—we invite surveillance into our homes through smart speakers, security cameras, and connected appliances, all in the name of making life easier.

We don’t just accept this surveillance; we’ve internalized it as a necessary trade-off. “Don’t worry,” we’re told, “your data’s safe, and you’ll get better recommendations and smarter services in return.” We’ve become so accustomed to being watched that we defend our watchers, developing an almost pathological attachment to the very systems that constrain us....<<<Read More>>>...

Dr. Steven Hassan’s BITE Model: Exposing Authoritarian Control Tactics

Dr. Steven Hassan, a mental health counselor and mind control expert, has dedicated his career to exposing the methods that authoritarian groups and individuals use to manipulate others. His BITE Model categorizes these tactics into four types of control: Behavior, Information, Thought, and Emotional. This model serves as a framework for recognizing the signs of undue influence, making it a tool for individuals, families, and professionals to identify manipulation in various contexts, from cults to political groups and coercive relationships.

Dr. Hassan’s interest in the psychology of influence began with his own experience as a former member of the Unification Church (the “Moonies”). Recruited during his youth, he became deeply involved in the organization, later escaping and dedicating himself to studying the tactics that had drawn him in. This journey led him to create practical methods to identify and counteract undue influence, culminating in the BITE Model. Today, he is an advocate for awareness and freedom of thought, helping people recognize how manipulation works and providing strategies to counter it.

The BITE Model classifies manipulation tactics into four distinct areas of control. These categories help clarify how manipulation targets different facets of a person’s life, ultimately aiming to gain complete obedience and dependence....<<<Read More>>>...

The Danger Is Real: The Deep State’s Plot to Destabilize the Nation Is Working

If the three-ring circus that is the looming presidential election proves anything, it is that the Deep State’s plot to destabilize the nation is working.

The danger is real.

Caught up in the heavily dramatized electoral showdown between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, Americans have become oblivious to the multitude of ways in which the government is goosestepping all over our freedoms on a daily basis.

Especially alarming is the extent to which those on both sides are allowing themselves to be gaslighted by both Trump and Harris about critical issues of the day, selectively choosing to hear only what they want to hear when it casts the opposition in a negative light.

This is true whether you’re talking about immigration and border control, health care, national security, the nation’s endless wars, protections for free speech, or the militarization of the U.S. government.

For starters, there’s the free speech double standard, what my good friend Nat Hentoff used to refer to as the “free speech for me but not for thee” phenomenon in which the First Amendment’s protections only apply to those with whom we might agree.

Despite her claims to being a champion for the rule of law, which in our case is the U.S. Constitution, Harris isn’t averse to policing so-called “hate” speech. In this, Harris is not unlike those on both the Right and the Left who continue to express a distaste for unregulated, free speech online, especially when it comes to speech with which they might disagree.

Then there’s Trump, never a fan of free speech protections for his critics, who has been particularly vocal about his desire to see the military vanquish “radical left lunatics,” which he has dubbed “the enemy from within.”

If it were only about muzzling free speech activities, that would be concerning enough.

But Trump’s enthusiasm for using the military to target domestic enemies of the state should send off warning bells, especially coinciding as it does with the Department of Defense’s recent re-issuance of Directive 5240.01, which empowers the military to assist law enforcement “in situations where a confrontation between civilian law enforcement and civilian individuals or groups is reasonably anticipated.”

This is what martial law looks like—a government of force that relies on the military to enforce its authority—and it’s exactly what America’s founders feared, which is why they opted for a republic bound by the rule of law: the U.S. Constitution.

Responding to concerns that the military would be used for domestic policing, Congress passed the Posse Comitatus Act in 1878, which makes it a crime for the government to use the military to carry out arrests, searches, seizure of evidence and other activities normally handled by a civilian police force.

The increasing militarization of the police, the use of sophisticated weaponry against Americans and the government’s increasing tendency to employ military personnel domestically have all but eviscerated historic prohibitions such as the Posse Comitatus Act.

Yet sometime over the course of the past 240-plus years that constitutional republic has been transformed into a military dictatorship disguised as a democracy.

Unfortunately, most Americans seem relatively untroubled by the fact that our constitutional republic is being transformed into a military dictatorship disguised as a democracy.

The seeds of chaos that have been sown in recent years are all part of the Deep State’s plans to usher in martial law.

Observe for yourself what has been happening right before our eyes....<<<Read More>>>...

UK’s solution to unreliable “renewable” energy: Variable energy pricing plus smart meters means consumers will intermittently switch off their own electricity supply

UK Energy Secretary Ed Miliband, despite his title of ‘Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero’, is facing criticism for policies that seem to contradict his duty to protect energy security. These policies include a proposed tax raid on North Sea oil and gas profits, effectively making the industry financially unviable, and a potential ban on new oil and gas fields in the North Sea.

The tax raid on North Sea oil and gas profits that Miliband is planning to impose, through Chancellor Rachel Reeves, will increase taxes on profits to a punitive 78 per cent.  This is in addition to stopping various tax breaks to the industry.

As Senior Research Fellow at the University of Bristol Rick Bradford argues, these policies will not decrease demand for oil and gas but rather benefit foreign suppliers at the expense of UK jobs and revenue. Furthermore, the government’s push for variable electricity pricing will make electricity unaffordable for most people when wind power is insufficient. “Less UK oil and gas production means a bonanza for foreign suppliers and a leaching of UK cash into their hands,” he said.

“Is the political class really that stupid, or is there an unrevealed agenda which explains this apparent absurdity?” he asked which leads to Bradford’s second point: variable electricity pricing.

Variable electricity pricing to consumers would mean prices vary every 30 minutes, as they do on the wholesale market, and be unknown in advance....<<<Read More>>>...

Fascism 2.0 – The Changing Face Of Social-Media Censorship

Facebook make only about £34 a year from the average customer in the UK – a little under £3 a month (and that’s before costs), so clearly there is no head-room or motivation, for a human level of customer service or attention. The user is not the customer; rather, they are the product whose data is sold to advertisers.

Thus, users do not have a direct customer relationship with the platform. The network is not directly incentivised to “care” about the user before the advertiser. And no matter where you lie on the spectrum between “free speech absolutism” and “private entities have the right to censor any user”, with such low margins it is inevitable machine processing will have to be used to moderate posts and deal with the customer interface.

But it is a fact the customer processing and management capabilities Social Networks are now evolving is being utilised in a variety of ways beyond just moderation. And it is also true this automated processing is being done at scale and is now applied to every post every member makes. 68% of US voters are on Facebook. In the UK it’s 66% and France 73.2%. The figures are similar for every democratic nation in the West. So it is vitally important the applied rules should be politically neutral.

The power that exists within the ability to machine-process every users posts is far deeper and more profound than perhaps many realise. And while it can’t directly dictate what users write in their messages it has the capacity to fundamentally shape which messages gain traction.

Social Media services have become de-facto town squares and most would agree their corporate owners should avoid ever putting a hand on the scales and influencing politics.

Additionally as everyone who uses Facebook is aware, especially when it comes to politically sensitive topics, the system will qualify an individual’s reach; sometimes to an extreme degree. Or that user will simply be banned for a period of time, or banned from the network entirely.

So we can ask the question, since the social media corporations have so much censorship power, how do we know they aren’t engaging in unethical political interference? Can they be trusted with the responsibility?

I will return to this question, but it’s clear that trust in these corporations is deeply misplaced.

The pandemic woke many people up to the levels of control those in charge of our Social Media networks are imposing. They, write the rules to boost engagement for posts they favour, making certain individuals’ follower counts more valuable. Conversely, users who go against the grain (or against the establishment narrative) see their engagement subtly reduced or even tank, or they can be banned from the service entirely. And the evidence is that, somewhat contrary to the principles of democracy, hands have been very firmly placed on the scales at Facebook, Twitter and YouTube....<<<Read More>>>...

The Overwhelming Media Bias Against The Palestinians In The Mainstream Media Exposed

In the last 10 months, more than 13,000 Palestinian children and 30,000 Palestinian people have been killed by Israeli military forces. All of this stemmed from an October 7 Hamas attack, killing approximately 1200 Israeli citizens.

Multiple analyses over the past few months have found an overwhelming bias against Palestinians in the mainstream media. This includes coverage from The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Lost Angele’s Times, CNN, Fox News and MSNBC, for example.

We’ve seen outlets like these emphasize Israeli deaths in the conflict, using contentious language to describe the killing of Israelis, but not Palestinians.

This discovery of bias is why Pro-Palestinian demonstrators occupied the lobby of The New York Times as early as November, demanding an immediate cease-fire in Gaza while accusing the media of showing a bias towards Israel in its coverage....<<<Read More>>>...

PsyWar: A Short History of the Battle for the Mind

 What is Psychological Warfare?

Boneau defines Psychological Warfare (PsyWar) as a number of actions ranging from radio propaganda to torture, that require comprehensive information on targeted populations. In a document written in 1948, American ground forces defined “psychological warfare” as follows:

“It is based on moral and physical means different from those upon which orthodox military techniques are based on. Its purpose is: (a) To destroy the will and the fighting spirit of the enemy and avoid its allies’ support and, (b) To encourage our troops and our allies’ will of being victorious.”

PsyWar uses every possible weapon and tool to influence and impact the will of the enemy. Such “weapons” are labelled “psychological” because of their effect and not because of their own nature. This is the reason why, open propaganda (“white”), secret (“black”) or “grey” propaganda – subversion, sabotage, murders, special operations, guerrilla, espionage, political, economic and racial and ethnic pressures – are all considered useful PsyWar weapons.

To implement such programs, the intelligence services recruited specialists on behavioural sciences capable of inventing the “simple, clear and repetitive” white propaganda and black propaganda aimed at provoking “disorder, confusion and… terror” within the enemy forces.

We thus begin to fathom that the so-called “Arab Spring” of today did not just suddenly and spontaneously explode in 2011, but was rather hatched from an “egg” laid decades ago and brooded by the secret intelligence agencies...read more>>>>..

UK Ministers are Pushing for More Power to Snoop on Us.

UK ministers are trying to rush through a new bill in parliament that if passed will strengthen the already over intrusive Investigatory Powers Act. The act, also known as the ‘Snoopers’ Charter which came into effect in 2016 allows State authorities to collect information about everything we do and say online and order private companies to store it.

The Act grants wide-ranging powers to “scoop up” and store all of our emails, texts, calls, location data and internet history, they can also hack into our phones and computers and create large ‘personal datasets’ on us – all without needing to suspect us of any criminal wrongdoing.

And they can do it in ‘bulk’, meaning to huge numbers of us at any one time according to Liberty the Human Rights Group who say that the information agencies can get their hands on paints an incredibly detailed picture of who we are, who we talk to, where we go and what we think.

It can reveal our health concerns, political views, religious beliefs, relationships and all of our movements – leaving nothing private. And by storing all the information in ‘personal datasets’ or hacking our devices and leaving them permanently damaged, they are putting our most sensitive personal data at risk of attack from others....<<<Read More>>>....

Trudeau Wants to Use Facial Recognition Digital ID for Travel by Next Year

The Trudeau government has been working with major Canadian airlines to formally bring in digital ID, facial recognition, and biometric travel documents to air travel by 2023.

According to an article from the Canada Gazette, the government’s outlet, “In accordance with PS’ Forward Regulatory Plan 2021–2023, the need to update the [Secure Air Travel Regulations] to offer more options to travellers and the industry to meet pre-aircraft boarding identity verification requirements through innovation was also considered during the stakeholder consultation exercises.”

“This includes digitized identification documents, digital identity documents and biometric travel documents. While four air carriers confirmed their intent to implement innovative identity management solutions in the short to medium term, no specific immediate change has been identified for the SATR.”

The government clarifies what they mean by digital identity documents and biometric travel documents towards the bottom of the article:

“For the purpose of this proposal, digitized, digital and biometric documents refer to digital copies of physical identification documents that are scanned or updated, digital identification documents issued by a government authority, and electronic identification documents that use biometric identifiers (such as facial recognition) respectively.”

The proposal has come under the guise of protecting Canada from terrorists by enhancing the Passenger Protect Program (PPP).

According to the government, Canadians could potentially be assigned a Canada Travel Number (CTN) connected to all their personal information that is cross-referenced with Secure Air Travel Act (SATA) lists to determine whether someone poses a national security risk.

They add that establishing a CTN will “prevent delays.”

To confirm a traveller is really the one attached to their CTN digital ID, the government proposes using biometric data collection, including facial recognition, as a possible pre-screening requirement....<<<Read More>>>...

DHS Coordinated with Chinese Drone Company to Create the First Totally Surveilled City in America

Inside San Diego’s metropolitan area, the second largest city, home to some 275,000 residents, has made the history books. Chula Vista hasn’t cured cancer or discovered perpetual energy; instead, their mark on history will be a dark one as they become the first city in America to be completely monitored by spy drones.

“On a per capita basis, they’re probably the most or one of the most surveilled cities in the country,” said Brian Hofer, executive director of the Oakland-based privacy advocacy group Secure Justice. “Pretty much the minute you walk outside your front door and move about your daily life, you’re going to be tagged and tracked by some law enforcement agency, even though you’ve likely never been suspected of any wrongdoing.”

Chula Vista’s drone program didn’t come to fruition overnight. Instead, the Department of Homeland Security and other government agencies coordinated with with Chinese drone manufacturers and unscrupulous actors in Big Tech and have implemented the program over the course of several years.

“The City of San Diego’s Homeland Security Department is collaborating with more than 20 regional organizations to implement the IPP. In addition to EDC, partners include: City of Chula Vista, Cape, AirMap, Qualcomm, AT&T, California Governor’s Military Council, California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GoBiz), Uber, UC San Diego Health, Intel, GE Ventures, and others,” the city announced in 2018.

In 2020, as fearful citizens begged the government for safety that never came, they willingly accepted this egregious invasion of privacy.

The Free Thought Project reported on this problem in 2020 and since then it has gotten much worse. Just like the Chinese authorities, police in California equipped the drones with speakers to tell people what to do during the pandemic....<<<Read More>>>...

UK begins digital ID push with launch of verification tech and online portal for accessing private info

[Natural News]: The government of the United Kingdom is pushing ahead with its planned rollout of a nationwide digital ID system. It will start this month with the launch of a system for verifying digital IDs and a portal where uploaded credentials can easily be accessed.

On April 6, the British government is expected to introduce new technology for public use that can verify digital IDs. This verification system allows government agencies and businesses to get hold of private data uploaded by users to servers as part of their sign-up for the British digital ID system.

According to recent announcements from the British government, the verification technology will be made available to employers, landlords and letting agents who need the technology to carry out pre-employment criminal record checks, right to work checks and right to rent checks.

The introduction of the verification technology is part of the British government’s digital ID plans announced last month. The government claims that the digital ID can help U.K. citizens to “easily and quickly prove their identity using digital methods instead of having to rely on traditional physical documents.”...<<<Read More>>>...
