This story took place in June 1979 in the Turgai region of the Kazakh SSR near Arkalyk – now almost abandoned, but then – a prosperous industrial city.
The local shepherd named Sagynbay, woke up in the middle of the night, left the house and saw that the sky was glowing. It seemed to him that the source of light was not far away, and the shepherd, saddling his horse, decided to go and find out what was the reason for the strange glow.
Having driven several kilometers from his native village, he saw traces of a large object falling from the sky in the night steppe. Deciding that it could be an airplane or a Soviet space satellite, the shepherd drove closer and was surprised to see a silver disk half buried in the rocky soil.

The story is that in August 1990 in Calvine, Scotland, 2 witnesses saw a diamond shaped UFO being pursued by a military jet and took a photos of it. These photos were take to the Scottish Daily Record for publication but after the newspaper contacted the MOD the story was never published.
It wasn’t until 1996 that former MOD UFO head Nick Pope wrote an unclassified version of the even in his book – Open Skies Closed Minds – that the story became public. Pope states that he had a copy of the photo enlarged on his office wall at the MOD but this was removed by his superiors.

These two photographs were taken in 1986 from the space shuttle Columbia STS-61C and there is still no clear explanation of what it was. Some NASA experts only vaguely said that most likely it was space debris, and that’s all.

But did you know that Aykroyd himself has had a personal experience with a UFO? In fact, he claims that he saw one up close and personal, just 50 feet away from him, in broad daylight, in the middle of a city.
The incident happened in Montreal, Canada, where Aykroyd was staying at a hotel with a friend. He was working on a script for a movie, when he decided to take a break and look out the window.
What he saw next was something that he would never forget.
He described it as a “big grey object, 100 feet long, 50 feet high, with what looks like a bunch of grapes underneath it”. It was hovering silently in the air, without any visible means of propulsion or wings. It seemed to be aware of his presence, as it turned slowly to face him and his friend.
