So What Is A Pathworking?

A pathworking is a journey between the worlds and one of the most exciting excursions we can take. It offers a path through the landscapes of the mind, ways that are as yet barely explored, to the last undiscovered frontier. Pathworkings are doorways between the known and the physical, the unknown and the non-corporeal. They are accomplished through the medium of the creative imagination – the anvil on which all things created and used by mankind are made.

They can cause physical effects in the everyday world, which is the main reason why they have been in secret for so long. It is also the reason why rigorous training in the control of imagination faculty is such a feature in magical schools and orders.

Scientists tell us that the journey we build in our mind is as real to the brain as our daily experiences. The world of the subconscious mind is a real world with real beings. The water is just as wet, the sun is just as hot. The only difference is that we can do things in that world we cannot do in this world. Why? Because in the inner world we admit to no barriers. We use the same powers and senses we have in the real world, but there we believe in them. We think we are dreaming, but it IS real and can use the finer matter of that world to change this one ………

What Is Body Scan Meditation and How Can It Help You Relax?

When you’re feeling stressed, it’s helpful to pay attention to your body because it helps ground you. There are many types of meditation to try, but body scan meditation is especially helpful when stress shows up in your body — a tight neck, headaches, or a clenched jaw. A body scan meditation involves mentally going through each part of your body and “checking in” to see how it is feeling. You may not even realize how tense you are until you do this exercise!

The purpose of a body scan meditation is to simply notice different parts of the body in order to relieve tension. It’s a type of mindfulness meditation, which is a mental exercise that helps you be more aware of your surroundings, body, and mind.

The definition of “body scan” gives away how it works: You “scan” your body sequentially by focusing on individual parts and paying attention to how they feel. Some people like to simply become aware of bodily sensations, while others prefer to relax each part of the body sequentially. In some versions of body scan meditation, you tighten muscles in different parts of the body and then relax them. Do what works for you! ....<<<Read More>>>...

Accessing the World Within

[Daily OM]: A guided meditation uses the sound of a person's voice to direct you through an inner process of relaxing your body and shifting your mind's focus. The voice may be a person in the room with you or a recording -- even something downloaded from the internet -- and it is generally spoken in soothing, soft tones. You may be guided to focus on aspects of your physical body, such as on your breathing, relaxing your muscles one-by-one, or on an area in need of healing. Sometimes it might involve visualizing a journey through the beauty of the natural world. Other times, you may be led to envision yourself working with light or energy, accomplishing your goals, or repeating positive thoughts in your head. Your guide may walk you through relaxation or motivation to help you change a habit, access untapped potential, or perhaps merely to find the silence within you.

Whether you are familiar with meditation or you are a beginner, being guided gives you the opportunity to benefit from the insight of others. There are numerous meditation and visualization techniques based in various spiritual philosophies and psychological applications. You may want to try several techniques to see what appeals to you the most, or just to gain a fresh perspective.

Guided meditation allows you to learn from others in a way that is similar to ones used by ancients the world over. Once learned, meditation is a tool that will always be available to you. Like having a tour guide while traveling in a foreign country, a guided meditation takes you on an inner journey. But this tour allows you to see and experience your own inner world, a place that truly only exists within you. The scenes created in your mind's eye can be revisited at anytime, without a guide, because once you have seen the fascinating landscape of your own inner terrain, there will always be more to explore.

Well-Being and Happiness Through Inwardness

[Wake Up World]: Around 2000 years ago, a Hindu sage named Patanjali developed one of the world’s first-ever personal development paths. Nothing is known about Patanjali as a person – some scholars doubt that he even existed and suggest that a group of different scholars compiled his teachings. However, if he did exist, there is no doubt that Patanjali was an exceptional psychologist. His path is referred to as the ‘eight-limbed path of yoga and is described in the Yoga Sutras.

The first two stages of the path are ethical guidelines, while the third is bodily postures. (These have become known as the modern practice of yoga, although asanas are just one limb of the path as a whole). The fourth stage is control of the breath. The latter stages deal with mental abilities, such as ‘one-pointedness of mind, which is equivalent to what modern psychologists call ‘flow.’ Following this, there is meditation, leading to the final stage of samadhi when the person attains a state of oneness with the world. (This reflects the literal meaning of yoga, which is union).

However, in my view, the most important stage of Patanjali’s path is the fifth stage, Pratyahara, which can be translated as ‘turning the senses within,’ or simply inwardness. This is the ability to live inside ourselves, to rest inside our own mental space, without immersing our attention in external things. Inwardness means living in a state of being without needing to be constantly active. It means living in a state of connection to our own being rather than in a constant state of self-evasion.

The Yoga Sutras describe inwardness as the beginning of the spiritual life, but it is also the beginning of real happiness. It marks a major shift when we begin to seek wellbeing inside ourselves rather than outside. Certainly, it is impossible to find any lasting inner contentment without the capacity of inwardness...<<<Read More...>>>....
