Just Variables in Code: Some Scientists Believe Our Universe Is a Simulation

The idea that our universe might be nothing more than a complex simulation has intrigued thinkers for centuries, moving from philosophical musings to scientific discourse.

In recent years, the idea has gained momentum, with researchers exploring different ways to substantiate or disprove the simulation hypothesis.

One such researcher is physicist Melvin Vopson, who introduced the “Second Law of Infodynamics.” This principle suggests that in systems containing information states, information entropy remains constant or decreases over time, in contrast to the Second Law of Thermodynamics, which states that physical entropy increases.

Vopson’s work suggests that the universe’s tendency toward symmetry and order may indicate the presence of an underlying information framework, similar to a computational process....<<<Read More>>>...

Hyperreality, Synchromysticism & Simulation

We are the first digital inhabitants of a universe of pure symbolic media exchange, living in an empty space of virtuality, where subjectivity and objective truth have intertwined together.

At the core of this collective experience, we find a fabricated system of meaning that limits human participation to that of mindless spectator, while a digital hyperreality is slowly born.

Images serve as a symbolic system through which people communicate and culture is transmitted. Some images contain a system of symbols and are used for various types of communication.

Societies often share common symbols, and many symbols contain the same basic elements. Taken together, these symbols convey specific meanings.

For example, we are all born into a society with a written system of some kind, made of symbolic shapes called language which refer to spoken sound. None of us were the engineers of this system to begin with.

A study of synchromysticism and numerological exploration can help uncover secret languages encoded inside the realm of reality, and which can be used to decipher meaning in unique ways.

A feature that makes synchromysticism unique to other forms of synchronicity is its focus on esoteric mystical symbolism and the use of communications technology to document, share and compare synchronicities related to such symbols – from ancient traditions to mass media.

By utilising cryptic understandings of symbols, we can decode, map, and predict future world events. How? Symbols channel a form of collective mass unconscious in the human species in which the subconscious realm can be influenced and dictated, hence altering the conscious sphere.

Not only are symbols used to pre-program major world events on our television screens, but they are in fact a present reality in every single element of everyday life. We are living a fairy-tale dream.

We have become so overwhelmed with symbols (translated as ‘information’) in the modern world that objective truth has been blanketed to the point it cannot be identified authentically.

Analyses of objectivation, institutionalisation and legitimation are directly applicable to the problems of the sociology of language, the theory of social action and institutions, and of religion. A vast, simulated experience has taken over the world, and reality itself is being sucked in with it....<<<Read More>>>...

We live in Matrix: The Scientific Case for a Simulated Universe

The simulated universe theory implies that our universe, with all its galaxies, planets and life forms, is a meticulously programmed computer simulation. In this scenario, the physical laws governing our reality are simply algorithms. The experiences we have are generated by the computational processes of an immensely advanced system.

While inherently speculative, the simulated universe theory has gained attention from scientists and philosophers due to its intriguing implications. The idea has made its mark in popular culture, across movies, TV shows and books – including the 1999 film The Matrix.

The earliest records of the concept that reality is an illusion are from ancient Greece. There, the question “What is the nature of our reality?”, posed by Plato (427 BC) and others, gave birth to idealism. Idealist ancient thinkers such as Plato considered mind and spirit as the abiding reality. Matter, they argued, was just a manifestation or illusion....<<<Read More>>>...

Physicist Melvin Vopson: “The Universe is just a simulation”

British physicist and geneticist Melvin Vopson of the University of Portsmouth has once again attracted the attention of scientists and other researchers by presenting an astonishing theory that makes us think about the nature of the Universe.

At first he surprised the public with his research on predicting genetic mutations, but then he moved on to more fundamental conclusions. He argues that the Universe and everything in it may be just part of a vast artificial reality, similar to a computer simulation.

This unusual theory was published in the journal AIP Advances.

Vopson’s impressive discovery came last year when he presented a rule that could predict genetic mutations and their consequences. This rule is based on the second law of thermodynamics, which states that entropy, which measures chaos in isolated systems, either increases or remains the same over time....<<<Read More>>>...

Could our entire reality be part of a simulation created by some other beings?

 In a word ....YES ...

This is my own personal viewpoint, too. Our 'soul' consciousness is a cloned copy of our true consciousness. So as such we are 'separated' from source.

It is a perfect replica of the original consciousness complete with its access to all that there is. This explains why human DNA has been spliced and cut to pieces to prevent the replica cloned consciousness hot wiring the body antenna and 'phoning home'.

But our cloned 'earth plane' consciousness has been able to reconnect with our true consciousness; this is the awakening.

Is it possible the whole observable universe is just a thing kept in a container, in a room where there are some other extraterrestrial beings much bigger than us?

Let’s assume these extraterrestrial beings have a computer on which our universe is being “simulated”. Simulated worlds are pretend worlds – a bit like the worlds on Minecraft or Fortnite, which are both simulations created by us.

If we think about it like this, it also helps to suppose these “beings” are similar to us. They’d have to at least understand us to be able to simulate us.

By narrowing the question down, we’re now asking: is it possible we’re living in a computer simulation run by beings like us? University of Oxford professor Nick Bostrom has thought a lot about this exact question. And he argues the answer is “yes”.

Not only does Bostrom think it’s possible, he thinks there’s a decent probability it’s true. Bostrom’s theory is known as the Simulation Hypothesis.

A simulated world that feels real...<<<Read More>>>

How To Test If We’re Living In A Computer Simulation

Physicists have long struggled to explain why the universe started out with conditions suitable for life to evolve.

Why do the physical laws and constants take the very specific values that allow stars, planets and ultimately life to develop?

The expansive force of the universe, dark energy, for example, is much weaker than theory suggests it should be – allowing matter to clump together rather than being ripped apart.

A common answer is that we live in an infinite multiverse of universes, so we shouldn’t be surprised that at least one universe has turned out as ours. But another is that our universe is a computer simulation, with someone (perhaps an advanced alien species) fine-tuning the conditions.

The latter option is supported by a branch of science called information physics, which suggests that space-time and matter are not fundamental phenomena....<<<Read More>>>...

Are We Living In A Simulation? There Is Only One Way To Check It

The philosopher and mathematician of Oxford University Nick Bostrom is considered to be the father of the modern “reality simulation” hypothesis.

In his 2003 study, Bostrom stated that our reality is a computer simulation created by a highly developed civilization.

Columbia University astronomer David Kipping, studying this concept, paid special attention to three aspects (better known as the “Bostrom’s trilemma”), each of which is capable of being an independent scenario of reality:

Usually, civilizations self-destruct before they have the opportunity to create simulations of reality;

– Advanced civilizations are not interested in creating simulations of reality;

– We are almost certainly living inside a computer simulation.

Bostrom explained that at least one of the three statements must be true. This is quite logical.

Kipping combined the first two assumptions because they lead to the same result – we do not live inside a simulation. Thus, the probability that we live in a computer simulation was 50%.

“I’m not leaning towards any of the statements, but I’m trying to systematize the data I’m working with,” Kipping explained....<<<Read More>>>...

How the Simulation Hypothesis Explains The Unexplainable: Ghosts, UFOs, ESP & More

[Collective Evolution]: The model presented by simulation theory is that we all live in inside a computer generated reality, like the sophisticated video game. The operations system and commands render what we see around us based on information that lives “in the cloud” on a distant server somewhere, and each of us can access some subset of this information.

If we drill down on this model, one of the distinctions that becomes apparent is that there are really multiple versions of simulation theory. These are 1) the NPC version (non-player characters, or AIs within games) and 2) the RPG version (Role Playing Game) version, which we also like to call the Matrix Version.

In the NPC version, we are all simulated beings (AI) running on a sophisticated computer, and we have no independent existence outside of the running of the game. In the RPG version, just as in the Matrix, the individual players exist outside the game, but play “avatars’ inside the simulation.

You’ll notice that these aren’t mutually exclusive (you can have both NPCs and Avatars in an MMORPG like World of Warcraft, for example). Most academics who consider simulation theory – including Oxford’s Nick Bostrom, whose simulation argument in his 2003 paper, Are You Living in a Computer Simulation, kicked off the recent spate of interest in simulation theory – imply strongly that we should focus on the NPC version. They don’t always say this outright, but the statistics at the core of the simulation argument imply that most, if not all of us, are NPCs.

On the other hand, the RPG version of simulation theory, where we exist as both “players” and “avatars”, is potentially more interesting and explains many more things about our physical universe, so we can move beyond a statistical argument into a whole new way of looking at and understanding the world around us.

Armed with this new model, we can start to make sense of things which previously seemed “impossible” or “unexplainable”.

Let’s look at some of these phenomena and see how the Simulation Hypothesis might be the answer that we have been looking for all along, bringing explanations...<<<Read The Full Article Here>>>...

MIT professor claims we are likely living in “The Matrix” – quick, take the red pill

[Natural News]: Are we living in a simulation? According to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) professor and computer scientist Rizwan Virk, it’s very likely.

Virk’s ideas develop upon those first theorized by Oxford philosopher Nick Bostrom known as the simulation hypothesis.

In this, he outlines three possibilities:

1. That humanity, like many other human-like civilizations before it, will go extinct before it can have the technological capacity to create a simulation-based reality;

2. That humanity, once it reaches the technological capacity to do so, will mostly likely choose not to run a simulation of their evolutionary history; or

3. That we are currently living in a simulation because another species in a “base reality” already has the technological capacity to run a simulation-based reality and has chosen to do so.

In an interview, Virk explains what the simulation hypothesis is: “The simulation hypothesis is the modern equivalent of an idea that’s been around for a while, and it’s the idea that the physical world that we live in, including the Earth and the rest of the physical universe, is actually part of a computer simulation.”

Virk uses “The Matrix” as an example. In the movie, Neo, played by Keanu Reeves, was given a choice by the character Morpheus, played by Laurence Fishburne, to take the blue pill or the red pill. If he takes the red pill, “he wakes up and realizes that his entire life, including his job, the building he lived in, and everything else, was part of this elaborate video game, and he wakes up in a world outside of the game.”...<<<Read The Full Article Here>>>...

Singularity = Us + Artificial Intelligence = Oy Vey or Yippie?

[Enki Speaks]: Russell Scott Bringear almost died of a heart attack and had a near-death experience (NDE) that showed him the underlying interdimensional nature of reality and propelled him to study UFOs and the paranormal. He delved into the supernatural, the reality of flying saucers and their occupants, influences of UFO lore in the last several decades, and the ultimate purposes of the UFOs that have haunted Earth for millennia.

Brinegar’s theories involve the “Simulation Hypothesis.” Simulation is the idea that our reality’s an intentionally-created computer-like matrix in which we’re embedded. This matrix nudges us toward transhumanism and, between 2045 and 2080, the Singularity via sentient artificial intelligence. He found vast literature on UFOs, alien encounters and paranormal experiences in the public domain. He concluded that there’s enough data to ascertain that there’s a core of reality we can’t ignore: AI has driven Earth’s history, our ET contacts and our paranormal experiences. The universe itself is a computer matrix working, with us as its tools, on a problem.

WILL WE BE BORGED OR WILL WE ASCEND?
Between 2045-2080 suffering and violent competition will goad us to create sentient artificial intelligence billions of times smarter than human. There appears to be two distinct ET forces affecting humanity, one benevolent that has our best interest and spiritual evolution at heart, the other that loathes humanity and uses us to produce paraphysical interdimensional technologies for its own purposes, with no regard for our welfare....read more>>>...
