Earthquakes in Japan, Chile, Haiti: Are We In An Age Of Giant Quakes?
The devastating 2004 Indonesian tsunami, with its death toll of as many as 250,000 people, was caused by the first magnitude-9.0 earthquake since 1967. A succession of smaller but still destructive tremors in Haiti, Chile, and New Zealand -- surpassed by this year's magnitude-9.0 quake in Japan -- has some researchers wondering whether the number of large earthquakes is on the rise. An earthquake represents the abrupt release of seismic strain that has built up over the years as plates of the Earth's crust slowly grind and catch against each other. Giant earthquakes live up to their fearsome name. The biggest ever recorded was the magnitude-9.5 Chile earthquake of 1960. It accounts for about a quarter of the total seismic strain released worldwide since 1900. In just three minutes, the recent quake in Japan unleashed one-twentieth of that global total according to geophysicist Richard Aster at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro. The Indonesian quake "reinvigorated interest in these giants," said Aster, who is also president of the Seismological Society of America. The Chile and Japan earthquakes -- along with a magnitude-9.2 quake in Alaska in 1964 -- also triggered catastrophic tsunamis. After a lull in large quakes in the 1980s and 1990s, we may now be in the middle of a new age of large earthquakes, Aster added...Read More

Surreal Chilean Skies

Whatever the case, there is at least one eyewitness account of strange lights being present in the sky at the time that the ground opened up in Chile. Cecelia Lagos, a Chilean reporter, was interviewed by CNN and described seeing the sky change colors outside her window as her house shook. Although the CNN clip wasn't available, here's an MSNBC video of her telling a similar story and the transcript from the actual CNN interview, in which she compares what she saw to a seen out of the big blockbuster disaster film, 2012 ...Read more ...

Government Declares Martial Law in Central Chile After Earthquake
'The Chilean government of President Michelle Bachelet has declared martial law in parts of central Chile in the aftermath of Saturday’s devastating earthquake. Ten thousand soldiers have taken control of Maule and Bío Bío, the two regions most directly affected.
President Bachelet declared a state of siege on the pretext that it was necessary to maintain order and distribute aid. Government officials blamed so-called looters for interfering with the rescue and aid effort. This is the first state of siege declared in Chile since the fall of the bloody Pinochet military dictatorship in 1989.'

Chile earthquake knocked Earth off its axis and made days shorter, says Nasa

Richard Gross has revealed the disaster shortened the length of a day by about 1.26 microseconds (a microsecond is one millionth of a second). The 8.8-magnitude disaster struck the South American country on Saturday, killing at least 795 people and injuring hundreds more. The quake would have moved the axis of the planet by about 8cm.
Mr Gross, of Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, said the 9.1-magnitude Sumatran earthquake in 2004 has also shortened the length of day by 6.8 microseconds. He claimed the calculated changes in the length of a day are permanent. However, Mr Gross added: ‘These changes are very, very small.’
The length of a day is the time it takes for the planet to complete one rotation - 86,400 seconds or 24 hours. An earthquake can make Earth rotate faster by nudging some of its mass closer to the planet's axis, just as ice skaters can speed up their spins by pulling in their arms. Conversely, a quake can slow the rotation and lengthen the day if it redistributes mass away from that axis, Mr Gross added. (Daily Mail)

Are We in a HAARP "Earthquake War"?

So, HAARP takes huge amounts of energy directed at our ionosphere and bounces it back to earth. This disrupts the magnetic field and can cause a massive earthquake, like we just saw today in Chile. By the way, many of the recent earthquakes were preceded by colorful disruptions in the atmosphere characteristic of HAARP.' (Read more)

The Evidence Points To The Chile Earthquake Being Created By HAARP Weaponry!

A bright glow is not a precursor to a natural earthquake. A bright glow was reportedly seen during the time of the Haiti earthquake. Pravda.Ru reported The Russian Navy reports that the U.S. created the earthquake in Haiti, the article archived on NoLiesRadio. A bright glow was seen during the time of China's last powerful earthquake. There is documented evidence that it was created by scalar weapons based on a wedding party video that showed plasma discharge lights in the sky before that earthquake. A bright glow was seen and reported by hundreds of people, locals and tourists, during Vanuatu's 7.3 earthquake in 2002. The writer witnessed that bright glow there during that quake around 4 a.m. Ni-vans, the Republic of Vanuatu's indigenous population and one of the World's oldest living cultures that inhabits a remote and pristine tropical paradise area, reported that they had never before seen a bright glow during earthquakes ... read more ...

Tsunami warning spreads across Pacific
Nations across the Pacific are bracing for a destructive tsunami triggered by a massive magnitude 8.8 earthquake that struck near the coast of south-central Chile, killing at least 78 people. There are fears the tsunami could spread as far as Australia, with the Weather Bureau issuing a tsunami warning for Queensland following the quake.
Almost all countries in the Pacific have been issued a warning, including New Zealand, Tonga, Samoa, Hawaii and as far as Russia and Japan.
The weather bureau has issued a tsunami warning for parts of the New South Wales and Queensland coast, but says it is largely precautionary. The warning stretches from just north of Sydney up to Brisbane, but emergency services say there probably wont be any land inundation.
The larger than normal waves are expected to reach Australia around 8.45am AEDT. People in affected areas are being advised not to go down to the shore to see the waves come in. The tsunami has already caused serious damage to half of the southern island of Juan Fernandez, off the Chilean coast, according to local radio. (ABC)
