Even when it came to children, German government ignored own scientists to impose strict COVID vaccine, mask mandates

 Germany's response to the COVID-19 pandemic was based on political objectives, and the government implemented countermeasures that often contradicted scientific evidence and the opinion of the government's own scientists, according to documents leaked by a former employee of Germany's public health agency, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).

Face mask rules have been reintroduced at acute hospitals in Worcestershire after a rise in the number of patients developing Covid-19.

The policy applies to staff, patients and visitors, and covers all clinical areas at Redditch's Alexandra, Kidderminster, and the Worcestershire Royal hospitals.

In a statement, Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust (WAH) said the measure was "necessary to protect patients, their loved ones, and our hospital staff from the risk of infection".

The trust said it was currently treating 65 patients with Covid-19, the "highest number" since December 2023.

"This is the highest number of Covid positive inpatients seen since December 2023, the amount of time our Covid positive patients need to be in hospital is increasing suggesting that they are also more seriously ill," a spokesperson said.

The trust said the measures would be applied with immediate effect, and would stay in place until further notice.

Hospitals across the U.S. are reinstating Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) mask mandates as the JN.1 variant becomes the dominant strain spreading throughout the country.

Medical facilities in some East Coast states – Wisconsin, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York and Delaware – have all reinstated face covering rules, mandating that people wear them in certain medical settings.

In one example, the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (NYC Health + Hospitals) announced the return of mask mandates at its hospitals. "Due to an uptick in respiratory illnesses like COVID-19, flu & RSV in our communities & our hospital, we must return to mandatory masking," the hospital operator wrote on X. "Please wear a mask when you visit us."

A separate NYC Health + Hospitals post also announced the return of "mandatory masking" at the Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. The mask mandate was brought about by "the prevalence of COVID-19 in our communities," the post added.

UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts also confirmed that mask mandates for staff members would return on Jan. 2 and last for a month. However, patients and visitors won't be mandated to mask up. A spokesperson for the hospital said after the month-long mandate, the necessity of masks in the hospital "will be reevaluated based on current trends."

After years-long pandemic mandates, German Health Ministry admit they have no idea whether or to what degree masks prevent SARS-2 infection at all

As on several prior occasions, liberal Bundestag vice-president Wolfgang Kubicki has used his parliamentary prerogatives to put a question to the German Health Ministry, and compel an answer. He asked what study results the Ministry could cite to demonstrate the efficacy of face masks. Lauterbach's crack team of virus understanders responded that, uh, it is a very complicated problem, and, in truth, well, actually, nobody really knows what effect masks really have. CDC Director Caught Lying To The House Committee on Appropriations About Face Masks & COVID Transmission?

 On April 19th CDC director Rochelle Walensky provided witness testimony to the House Appropriations Committee. She faced a series of questions regarding all things COVID as the committee was considering the budget requests for the CDC, the NIH, and the ASPR.

During the hearing, Congressman Andrew Clyde (R-Ga) asked Walensky about the popular Cochrane mask review that was published by a highly respected Oxford research team. This review emphasized that there’s no evidence showing masks are effective during a pandemic or that wearing face masks in the community prevents viral transmission.

Walensky stated,

“I think it’s notable, that the Editor-in-Chief of Cochrane, actually said that the summary of the review was…(stumble)…she retracted the summary of that review and said it was inaccurate.”

But this isn’t true, the summary was never retracted and nothing about it has been changed at all or deemed as inaccurate.

How much should one trust this overarching study? Medical journals say that Cochrane reviews are “recognised worldwide as the highest standard in evidence-based healthcare”, are the “best single source of highest-quality systematic reviews”, and are “regarded as the final word in the medical debate on a topic”. One adds, “The main reason is that Cochrane reviews follow a common and specific methodology to limit bias.” If only the same could be said about the public health officials at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Specifically, Cochrane found, “Wearing masks in the community probably makes little or no difference to the outcome of influenza-like illness (ILI)/COVID-19 like illness” — or “to the outcome of laboratory-confirmed influenza/SARS-CoV-2” — “compared to not wearing masks.” Moreover, “The use of a N95/P2 respirators compared to medical/surgical masks probably makes little or no difference for the outcome… of laboratory-confirmed influenza infection.” Each of these claims was made with “moderate certainty”, the second highest of four certainty classifications. The mask mandates did nothing. Will any lessons be learned?

The most rigorous and comprehensive analysis of scientific studies conducted on the efficacy of masks for reducing the spread of respiratory illnesses — including Covid-19 — was published late last month. Its conclusions, said Tom Jefferson, the Oxford epidemiologist who is its lead author, were unambiguous.

"There is just no evidence that they" — masks — "make any difference," he told the journalist Maryanne Demasi. "Full stop."

But, wait, hold on. What about N-95 masks, as opposed to lower-quality surgical or cloth masks?

"Makes no difference — none of it," said Jefferson.

What about the studies that initially persuaded policymakers to impose mask mandates?

"They were convinced by nonrandomized studies, flawed observational studies."

What about the utility of masks in conjunction with other preventive measures, such as hand hygiene, physical distancing or air filtration?

"There's no evidence that many of these things make any difference."

These observations don't come from just anywhere. Jefferson and 11 colleagues conducted the study for Cochrane, a British nonprofit that is widely considered the gold standard for its reviews of health care data. The conclusions were based on 78 randomized controlled trials, six of them during the Covid pandemic, with a total of 610,872 participants in multiple countries. And they track what has been widely observed in the United States: States with mask mandates fared no better against Covid than those without.

No study — or study of studies — is ever perfect. Science is never absolutely settled. What's more, the analysis does not prove that proper masks, properly worn, had no benefit at an individual level. People may have good personal reasons to wear masks, and they may have the discipline to wear them consistently. Their choices are their own.

But when it comes to the population-level benefits of masking, the verdict is in: Mask mandates were a bust. Those skeptics who were furiously mocked as cranks and occasionally censored as "misinformers" for opposing mandates were right. The mainstream experts and pundits who supported mandates were wrong. Massive Peer-Reviewed Mask Study Shows ‘Little To No Difference’ In Preventing ‘Covid’ and Flu Infection

 A massive international research collaboration that analyzed several dozen rigorous studies focusing on “physical interventions” against COVID-19 and influenza found that they provide little to no protection against infection or illness rates.

The study, published in the peer-reviewed Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, is the strongest science to date refuting the basis for mask mandates worldwide.

And of course, the CDC still recommends masking in areas with “high” rates of transmission (fewer than 4% of US counties, as Just the News notes), along with indoor masking in areas with “medium” rates of transmission (27%).

Masks are still required in educational institutions in Democratic strongholds such as New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Washington and California, according to the Daily Mail. Unwell adults should stay at home and wear a mask if they have to go outside, health chiefs said today amid warnings the NHS is facing more pressure than it did during the peak of the pandemic.

The Mask of Your Enslavement: The Image, History, and Meaning of Escrava Anastácia

 Escrava Anastácia is a folk saint venerated in Brazil, with a large number of devotees among Umbanda practitioners. She is also venerated by many black Brazilian Catholics, having an important shrine in the prominent church of Our Lady of the Rosary of Black People in Salvador da Bahia, even though she has never been acknowledged or canonized by the Roman Catholic Church. 

Her hagiography includes multiple stories that emphasize the nobility of her character in spite of her discursive and physical muzzling by the oppressive power of the system of chattel slavery. In some stories she is the mixed race child of an African princess and a slave trader who is fitted with a metal muzzle to prevent her from revealing the trader’s infidelity and the rape of her mother (Burdick 1998). 

In other stories, Anastácia is herself the victim of rape, or at least attempted rape, by a slave planter who also punishes and silences her with the metal contraption. In some versions of the story, the mistress of the plantation muzzles Anastásia to save herself from any public shame that could come about by the disclosure of her husband’s infidelity. In yet other variations of this story, the reasons for her muzzling involve the aid she provided to a runaway slave and her leadership in organizing a slave revolt. 

In all of these narratives the muzzling seeks to silence her cries against injustice and a voice that leads to liberation. As a form of public shaming, it serves as a deterrent for those slaves in the plantation who could be inspired by Anastásia. Her martyrdom comes about either through starvation or from the tetanus produced by the metal as it rusted in her mouth. Her ability to perform miracles, even while muzzled, included healing her oppressors.

This presents an idealized martyrdom, an admirable resilience as well as a moral impermeability to and an ultimate victory over the downpressure of slavery. Nature Has Provided the Perfect Air Filtration System and Face Masks Render It Ineffective

Mask Usefulness Myth: Nature has already given us an air filtration system that is optimised for our bodies and for respiration. Fooling around with it is lunacy. And the only masks we should be wearing, particularly kids, are for Carnaval or Halloween!

The mask narrative is taking off again in many geographies. Given how coordinated it is in the media, one doesn’t need to be a “conspiracy theorist” to see it is being orchestrated and timed by a dark force, either influencing public health authorities or within public health leadership, possibly a combination of both.

Plastics Used in Face Masks Have Been Found in Patients’ Lungs

[The Expose]: Some of the microscopic plastic fragments and fibres discovered – in patients undergoing surgery whose lung tissue they sampled – were two millimetres long.

The research used samples of healthy lung tissue from next to the lung region targeted for surgery. It analysed particles as small as 0.003mm in size and used spectroscopy to identify plastic types.  It also used control samples to account for the level of background contamination.

The plastic dust and microscopic debris comprise the same plastics used to manufacture the ubiquitous surgical masks worn by hundreds of millions of people around the world as mandated by governments to halt the Covid “pandemic.”

The material most commonly used to make these masks is PP.  PP fabric is made from a “thermoplastic” polymer, meaning that it’s easy to work with and shape at high temperatures.

Blue surgical masks can also be made of polystyrene, polycarbonate, polyethylene, or polyester, all of which are types of fabrics derived from thermoplastic polymers.

Disposable blue masks are to be found littering almost every city street in the developed world after, in some places, two years of Covid mandates ruled that masks should be worn in most indoor environments much of the time. Healthy adults, children, the immunocompromised, and the elderly have all been subject to mask mandates.

Microplastics were detected in human blood in March 2022, showing the particles can travel around the human body and may become embedded in organs. The impact on health is still to be determined.

“Our study is the first indication that we have polymer particles in our blood – ​it’s a breakthrough result,” said Prof Dick Vethaak, an ecotoxicologist at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in the Netherlands.  “We also know in general that babies and young children are more vulnerable to chemical and particle exposure,” he said. “That worries me a lot.”

Florida Surgeon General Says Facemasks Haven’t Saved A Single Life

[Richie Allen]: The state of Florida’s top doctor has said that facemasks are not saving lives and denounced doctors and scientists who continue to advocate for their use.

Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo was appearing at a press conference alongside Governor Ron DeSantis. According to ABC News:

Ladapo said there are no clinical trials – which he called the highest form of medical research – that definitively prove masking is effective against COVID.

He called other studies, touted by the CDC as proof masking works, “shaky” and conducted with “shaky methods.”

“Doctors that tell you [masks] save lives, ask them what did the two randomized clinical trials that we’ve done during the pandemic, what did they show?” Ladapo added.

Ladapo’s comments were made in a press conference with the governor, calling on lawmakers to revive a stalled bill in Tallahassee, aimed at protecting doctors from punishment from medical licensing boards if they express their personal opinions in treatment or even on social media.

“I mean, you’d think that my colleagues have been taken over by zombies,” Ladapo said.

Here in Salford, masks seem to be disappearing. I visited two supermarkets in recent days and could only count the masked on one hand. We live close to the tram-link and several bus stops.

The majority of passengers are mask-less now.

Would that change if they were mandated again?
