Study finds Ivermectin, Hydroxychloroquine use soared during COVID-19 pandemic

Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine prescriptions "soared far above" levels before the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a new study.

Researchers from the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA) and other institutions said that nearly 3 million ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine prescriptions were issued during the pandemic, totaling some $272 million, according to a news release issued on Feb. 20.

The dispensing of ivermectin "from US pharmacies was nearly 1,000 percent higher than prepandemic rates," the study said.

Usage of the two drugs was three times higher in people aged 65 and older, compared with people aged 18 to 64, according to the study published in the Health Affairs journal. Patients aged 65 and older represented 25 percent of adults in the study but constituted more than 59 percent of COVID-19-linked ivermectin usage and 68 percent of COVID-19-related hydroxychloroquine use, it found.

New Study Shows Hydroxychloroquine Boosts Covid Survival By 200%

[Richie Allen]: US scientists have claimed that a malaria drug can increase the survival rate of patients with severe Covid-19 by as much as 200 per cent. Doctors found that when ventilated patients were given hydroxychloroquine with zinc, their condition improved rapidly.

Friends and supporters of former US President Donald trump were quick to jump on the findings. Trump was a strong advocate for treating severe Covid-19 with hydroxychloroquine.

Trump was widely criticised for pushing the drug. Scientists labelled him reckless. His adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci said at the time, that all the evidence to hand suggested that the treatment was ineffective against covid.

In March this year, the World Health Organization warned against using the drug to treat coronavirus. The WHO produced data which alleged hydroxychloroquine was ineffective.

Yet the authors of the new report claim:

“We found that when the cumulative doses of two drugs, HCQ and AZM, were above a certain level, patients had a survival rate 2.9 times the other patients.”

Last December, a study published by the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents showed 84 per cent fewer hospitalizations among patients treated with the drug.

In January this year, a study carried out by Hackensack Meridian Health, showed encouraging results in patients with mild covid symptoms who were given hydroxychloroquine.

As I write this, UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock is facing a committee in Westminster. He’s answering questions about his government’s handling of the pandemic. It’s a walk in the park for Hancock. It’s one softball question after another so far.

Association of American Surgeons & Physicians sues FDA for interfering with availability of hydroxychloroquine

[Natural News]: Back in March, drug giant Novartis donated 130 million doses of the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine to the global Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic response. But the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been directly interfering with its distribution, which has prompted a new lawsuit.

The American Association of Surgeons and Physicians (AASP) has filed a complaint for declaratory and injunctive relief against the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), along with the FDA and the Biomedical Advanced Research & Development Authority, two of its constituent agencies. Also named in the suit are the “lead officers” of these agencies.

According to the AASP, the FDA has been engaged in “irrational interference” concerning patients having “timely access” to hydroxychloroquine. Despite the fact that large amounts of hydroxychloroquine were donated to the federal government for “prompt distribution,” the FDA has seen to it that very few of these drug doses make it out to patients.

On March 28, just days after Novartis donated large quantities of hydroxychloroquine to the federal government, the FDA issued an “Emergency Use Authorization” that essentially prohibited the drug from being administered except in the case of “already-hospitalized patients for whom clinical trials are unavailable.”
