The Government is Ignoring the Harms of Smartphone Radiation

Should the Government really ban social media for under-16s? The recent debate on the negative effects on children of smartphones and screens has aroused strong feelings on all sides, but some highly relevant facts have been completely ignored.

Armed with recent research on the behavioural effects of engaging electronically, as well as the damaging effects of social media content, campaigners such as Health Professionals for Safer Screens have been making their voices heard in Parliament and now a social media ban has been announced. But the objections to this are many: children could easily circumvent the ban; it might be seen as unwanted state interference in matters which concern parents only; the need for age verification may make it easier for the Government to sneak in digital ID.

My question is: is proper debate really possible, when certain facts have been completely and consistently swept under the carpet? The facts I refer to are the result of decades of scientific research which suggest that electromagnetic fields (EMFs), including wireless radiation from smartphones and other sources, have a negative impact on health. Politicians seem averse to engaging with the scientific evidence on this.

Six years ago, for example, the Broadband and Road to 5G inquiry, set up by the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee, invited submissions and received 147 of them. In its report, the committee seemed to imply that the negative health effects of EMFs detailed in 78 of these submissions were “conspiracy theories” and, though robust evidence was cited in most submissions, the committee failed to report on them and was content to ignore 51% of the written evidence (more details here). When there is clear evidence of health risks, why will policymakers not engage?

Now, however, there is another chance for politicians to engage with robust, modern and independent science that might, admittedly, stand in the way of their goals, but is, in fact, crucial for public health protection....<<<Read More>>>...

Study: Millions report illness from proximity to wireless radiation

A new peer-reviewed study estimates over 26 million adults across the U.S., Australia, and Canada report health symptoms linked to wireless radiation exposure.

The condition, termed EMR Syndrome, shows significant overlap with other conditions like chemical sensitivity, asthma, and autism, suggesting a common inflammatory pathway.

Researchers warn that expanding wireless infrastructure, including 5G, may be contributing to the rising prevalence of reported sensitivity.

Historical parallels are drawn to the tobacco industry, with allegations that science on wireless radiation risks has been suppressed by influential corporate interests.

Experts advocate for a precautionary approach, recommending wired alternatives at home and greater public awareness of potential health impacts.

A groundbreaking international study has revealed that a significant portion of the adult population directly links their chronic health struggles to the invisible sea of wireless radiation. Published in Next Research, the analysis of nationally representative surveys from the United States, Australia, and Canada found that approximately one in eight U.S. adults report adverse health effects from exposure to devices like cell phones, Wi-Fi routers, and cell towers. The findings, which estimate over 26 million affected adults across the three nations, arrive amid longstanding accusations from public health advocates that the science on electromagnetic field (EMF) risks has been systematically downplayed, drawing unsettling parallels to the tobacco industry’s past tactics of suppression and doubt....<<<Read More>>>....

WHO claims radiation from EMFs is safe; WHO is plagued with conflicts of interest and flawed studies

WHO claims that electromagnetic radiation from sources such as 5G and smartphones is safe. But independent researchers disagree, citing concerns over cancer, mental health and other health risks.

The International Commission on the Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields has criticised WHO for conflicts of interest, flawed methodologies and downplaying of health risks.

The official line from the World Health Organisation (“WHO”) and others says 5G and other sources of electromagnetic radiation are entirely safe, but independent researchers with no financial backing from, in this case, the Telecoms industry have a very different view.

The public, as always, is largely in the dark. The same “tin foil hat” attributions abound. Quite apart from any electromagnetic mechanisms, there are also huge concerns about excess time on smartphones and devices in childhood linked to an increase in mental health difficulties,

Your smartphone, your Wi-Fi, your smart meter, your other smart gadgets and much else all use radio-frequency radiation (“RFR”), but what physical effect is this having on you and your family’s health? Where can the truth be found? Although we only ever hear publicly that RFR “should” be safe, a glimpse behind the scenes reveals a raging battle amongst scientists in an attempt to control the narrative.

This struggle comes at a time when the governments of the world are awaiting the forthcoming WHO Environmental Health Criteria monograph, which will pronounce on the health risks or otherwise of exposure to electromagnetic fields, including RFR. Even more critical is the upcoming possible reclassification of RFR as a probable cancer risk by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (“IARC”). The stakes could not be higher....<<<Read More>>>...

Study suggests cell towers are causing widespread immune system suppression, priming populations for sickness

In a finding that should send shivers down the spine of every suburban homeowner and city dweller alike, a peer-reviewed study published in Electromagnetic Biology and Medicine has confirmed what environmental health advocates have warned about for decades: living near a cell tower elevates your white blood cell count to levels comparable to those seen in chronic smokers. The research, conducted on adults in India, reveals that the constant bombardment of wireless radiation from the telecommunications infrastructure blanketing our neighborhoods is a biological stressor actively depleting the human immune system.

With white blood cell counts chronically elevated, the body remains in a perpetual state of inflammatory alarm, leaving millions of Americans more susceptible to infections, chronic diseases, and yes, the very pandemics that health authorities claim to be fighting. While the Federal Communications Commission continues to operate under radiation safety guidelines last updated when dial-up internet was cutting edge, the scientific evidence suggests our immune systems are paying the price for our connected world.

Key points:

  • Living within 60 meters of a cell tower raises white blood cell counts to levels seen in smokers
  • Using a cellphone 4 to 6 hours daily elevates lymphocytes, particularly in adults under 30
  • Chronically elevated white blood cells indicate ongoing inflammation and immune system stress
  • Nearly a quarter of those living close to cell towers showed elevated monocytes linked to cardiovascular risk
  • The FCC has not updated its radiation safety limits since 1996, ignoring decades of research
  • India maintains radiation limits 10 times stricter than U.S. standards
  • Study authors warn that chronic wireless exposure may deplete the immune system over time
  • Legal action is pending against the FCC for failing to review 11,000 pages of evidence on wireless harm ....<<<Read More>>>...

Escape Zone: The ultimate survival guide against EMFs, surveillance and the hidden dangers of 5G

"Escape Zone" argues that chronic exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMFs) from cell phones, Wi-Fi and smart meters causes oxidative stress ("biological rusting"), damaging DNA, disrupting mitochondria and contributing to conditions like infertility, neurodegenerative diseases, and electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS).

Safety guidelines (FCC, ICNIRP) are criticized for ignoring non-thermal biological effects, relying on outdated science. The telecom industry allegedly manipulates regulators, delaying stricter standards despite the WHO's 2011 classification of RF radiation as a possible carcinogen.

The book recommends Faraday cages (e.g., shielded bags, clothing) to block EMFs, alongside EMF-blocking paints and grounding mats. It also promotes ballistic-protection gear for dual safety against surveillance and physical threats. It further advises Faraday storage for electronics, backup power/fuel stockpiles and home EMF audits to mitigate risks from EMPs (solar or man-made) and chronic exposure.

The book links EMF protection to broader off-grid resilience—organic gardening, natural medicine and reducing dependence on centralized systems—citing case studies of improved health after minimizing EMF exposure.

In a new book that reads at times like a survivalist manifesto and at others like a medical textbook, the authors of "Escape Zone: The Ultimate Guide to EMF Protection, Ballistic Safety, and Off-Grid Survival" argue that modern life is besieging the human body with invisible forces that government regulators have failed to address. Published amid escalating deployment of 5G networks and rising interest in self-reliant living, the guide seeks to educate readers on the dangers of electromagnetic fields and offer practical solutions for shielding themselves and their families.

The book's central thesis is that chronic exposure to electromagnetic fields — emitted by cell phones, Wi-Fi routers, smart meters and household wiring — is not benign. The authors distinguish between ionizing radiation, which is known to cause cancer and the non-ionizing radiation of everyday EMFs, but argue that the latter can still inflict biological harm through mechanisms like oxidative stress, a process they compare to "biological rusting." ...<<<Read More>>>...

The Wi-Fi and Mobile Phone Cancer Debate Heats Up

Your smartphone, your Wi-Fi, your smart meter, your iPad and much else all use radio-frequency radiation (RFR), but do you know what physical effect this is having on your and your family’s health? Where will you find the truth? Although we only ever hear publicly that RFR “should” be safe, a glimpse behind the scenes reveals a raging battle amongst scientists in an attempt to control the narrative.

This struggle comes at a time when the governments of the world are awaiting the forthcoming WHO Environmental Health Criteria monograph, which will pronounce on the health risks or otherwise of exposure to electromagnetic fields including RFR. Even more critical is the upcoming possible reclassification of RFR as a probable cancer risk by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). The stakes could not be higher.

At the centre of this battle are Meike Mevissen on one side and Ken Karipidis on the other. They are the lead authors of two of the 12 systematic reviews commissioned by the WHO EMF Project on the health effects of radio-frequency radiation (RFR). Only one of these 12 reviews was considered by experts from the International Commission on the Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields (ICBE-EMF) to be well-executed, and this was the one by Mevissen et al., which concluded that there is high certainty evidence that RF-EMF exposure increases the incidence of malignant schwannomas (heart tumours) and gliomas (brain tumours) in rats, with moderate certainty evidence of an increased risk of rare tumours in the adrenal glands and in the liver. This RF-EMF is just the same type of radiation that is emitted by your phone and that you hold to your head and keep in your pocket, and that is constantly by your side....<<<Read More>>>....

Federal health agencies row back on cellphone safety assurances: New radiation review begins

Federal health officials have removed longstanding public assurances about cellphone radiation safety as the Department of Health and Human Services begins a new internal review of potential health risks tied to wireless technology.

Federal health agencies have quietly rolled back years of public-facing assurances that cellphone radiation poses no health risks, as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services launches a new review of the health effects of wireless technology. According to reporting by The Wall Street Journal, webpages maintained by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration stating that cellphone radiation is not linked to adverse health outcomes were recently taken offline, a move that coincides with a broader HHS-directed study into electromagnetic radiation.

The removal of the webpages was first identified by Children's Health Defense, which reported that the FDA had eliminated content asserting that the "weight of scientific evidence" does not support a connection between cellphone use and health problems. The agency now redirects users to a general landing page outlining its regulatory role over radiation-emitting products....<<<Read More>>>...

Turning Off Internet on Your Phone Improves Attention, Mental Health, and Well-Being in Just 14 Days

As the world has become increasingly reliant on mobile computing technology for work and entertainment, few people stopped to consider the downstream consequences.

A recent randomized controlled trialfound that simply removing mobile internet access — while still allowing calls and texts — can produce measurable improvements in psychological functioning in as little as two weeks. Researchers effectively turned smartphones into "dumb phones," and the results were striking: improved sustained attention, improved mental health, and higher subjective well-being.

This was a month-long preregistered randomized controlled trial with a cross-over (waitlist) design, enrolling 467 iPhone users in the U.S. and Canada. Participants installed the Freedom app, which blocked all mobile internet access (Wi-Fi and cellular data) for two weeks, while still allowing calling, texting, and internet use on other devices like laptops or desktops. Outcomes were measured at baseline (T1), two weeks (T2), and four weeks (T3), allowing researchers to compare changes during restriction periods versus normal-use periods.

After two weeks without mobile internet, participants experienced significant improvements in subjective well-being (including life satisfaction and positive/negative affect), mental health (a combined index including depression, anxiety, anger, personality functioning, and social anxiety), and objectively measured sustained attention using the validated gradCPT task (d-prime accuracy). Notably, about 91% of participants improved in at least one of these core outcomes, suggesting that the effect was widespread rather than limited to a small subset....<<<Read More>>>....

The Invisible Assault: Why HHS’s Long-Overdue Scrutiny of Wireless Radiation Can’t Come Soon Enough

For decades, a silent plague has been woven into the fabric of modern life, emanating from the cellphones in our pockets, the Wi-Fi in our homes, and the cell towers that dot our horizons. The government and its captured regulatory bodies have long dismissed concerns about this electropollution, labeling those who spoke of its dangers as alarmists.

Now, a seismic shift is underway. Under the leadership of Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has launched a landmark study into the health effects of wireless radiation, and the Food and Drug Administration has scrubbed its outdated online safety claims. This move isn't just a bureaucratic review; it is a direct confrontation with a decades-long institutional cover-up of a major public health threat. For millions suffering in an invisible sea of radiofrequency radiation, this scrutiny can't come soon enough.

The era of institutional denial is cracking. In January 2026, U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. publicly declared wireless radiation a "major health concern," pointing to "literally over 10,000 studies" documenting ill effects, including cancer tumor growth. [1] This statement, made as HHS launched a new study, marks a radical departure from the past, where federal agencies consistently downplayed or ignored the risks.

The same day, under Kennedy's direction, the FDA scrubbed old webpages that had falsely assured the public of cellphone safety. This is more than a symbolic gesture; it is an admission that the previous safety narrative was built on a foundation of sand. For advocates like Miriam Eckenfels of Children's Health Defense, this moment is critical. She notes that while scientific evidence piles up, the Federal Communications Commission is aggressively pushing to strip local communities of control over where cell towers are placed. [1] This federal power grab, also proposed in congressional legislation, would forcibly increase involuntary public exposure, making the HHS's intervention not just timely, but essential to counter a captured agency prioritizing industry rollout over public well-being...<<<Read More>>>....

Experts discuss mold toxicity and how EMF affects the brain and microbiome

On Day 4 of "EMF Hazards Summit 2025," Dr. Lisa Nagy exposes dangers like mold toxicity and electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS) in homes, schools and workplaces, linking mold exposure to severe electrical sensitivity and POTS in children.

Traditional medicine often dismisses mold/EMF-related illnesses, despite evidence of voltage-gated calcium channel disruption and electrolyte imbalances (e.g., low potassium curing EHS).

Dr. Julie McCredden reveals how EMFs from devices damage brain function, causing "leaky brain," disrupting neurotransmitters (dopamine, serotonin) and mimicking ADHD or early dementia — especially in children with thinner skulls.

Dr. Marco Ruggiero ties EMFs to microbiome disruption, worsened by toxins like glyphosate, potentially contributing to anxiety, ADHD and autism (1 in 30 boys). The summit offers practical steps: shielding (e.g., Faraday bags), detox strategies (avoiding over-detox) and innovative tools like Praesidium, a supplement using radiation-resistant microbes to protect gut health....<<<Read More>>>...

WHO Finds Mobile Phone and WiFi Radiation Causes Cancer

In what appears to be an astonishing volte-face, a WHO systematic review has found reliable evidence that radio-frequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMFs) increase the risk of cancer in animal experiments. The WHO has a long history of downplaying the health risks of RF-EMFs from smart devices, WiFi and mobile communications base stations. Indeed, up until two weeks ago, when a correction to a different WHO review forced an admission that RF-EMFs do after all have a negative impact on male fertility, this history seemed to be repeating itself.

The WHO EMF Project had commissioned 12 separate reviews to assess existing studies on the health effects of EMFs and indeed, many of these were true to form, finding little harm from wireless radiation. Take, for example, the systematic review on ‘The Effect of Exposure to Radiofrequency Fields on Cancer Risk in the General and Working Population’, by Karipidis et al. (2024). This concluded that exposure to mobile phones or phone masts is unlikely to cause brain cancer or childhood cancer and that occupational exposure may not cause brain cancer, with one of the authors, Ken Karipidis, being quoted in the Guardian as saying, “concerns around links between cancer and mobile phones should be put to rest”.

However, in a complete turnaround, this latest review, ‘Effects of Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Field Exposure on Cancer in Laboratory Animal Studies’ (Mevissen et al.), published on April 25th, concludes that there is “evidence that RF-EMF exposure increases the incidence of cancer in experimental animals with the [certainty of evidence] being strongest for malignant heart schwannomas and gliomas” (brain tumours). The review also found moderate certainty of evidence of an increased risk of rare tumours in the adrenal glands and in the liver. Although the study states that extrapolating the level of human risk of cancer from animal studies can be complex, the International Commission on the Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields (ICBE-EMF) has said in its press release: “Notably, the same types of tumours have also been observed in human studies, adding significant confidence that the associations observed in human studies are real.” (The ICBE-EMF is an independent “ international consortium of scientists, doctors and researchers with expertise and peer-reviewed publications on the biological and health effects of electromagnetic fields including wireless RF radiation.” ] ...<<<Read More>>>...

Decades of ignored warnings: How U.S. regulators failed to act on wireless radiation linked to 23 chronic diseases

For over 50 years, the U.S. government has known about the potential health risks of wireless radiation, yet regulatory agencies have consistently failed to act, leaving the public exposed to chronic conditions ranging from autism to diabetes.

A new report, released on February 6 by researchers Richard Lear and Camilla Rees, reveals how a 1971 U.S. Naval Medical Research Institute study identified 132 biological effects and 23 chronic diseases linked to electromagnetic radiation (EMR)—findings that were ignored as wireless technology proliferated.

The report, shared at the American Academy of Environmental Medicine’s annual conference in San Antonio, Texas, on February 14, highlights the staggering growth of these diseases and calls for urgent regulatory action...<<<Read More>>>...

Effective EMF blocking techniques

People are used to having a variety of electronic devices that make modern life easier, such as cell phones, laptops and appliances. However, not everyone knows that the constant use of these devices is linked to possible health risks.

Cell phones, computers, microwaves, Wi-Fi routers, power lines and other appliances all emit a stream of invisible energy waves. Electric and magnetic fields (EMFs) are produced wherever electricity is used, including your home or at the office.

Some experts have even voiced their concerns about the potential health effects of EMFs. Keep reading to learn more about EMFs and how to block their signals....<<<Read More>>>....

Russian scientists find 5G exposure triggers 'significant' brain changes in lab rats

Controlled exposure to the 5G radiation spectrum has resulted in changes to the brain tissue of laboratory rats, according to a team of scientists from Tomsk State University (TSU) in Russia.

Ever since the introduction of 5G cellphone infrastructure, there have been concerns about its potential health effects. The International Agency for Research on Cancer has classified the 5G radio frequency electromagnetic field (RF-EMF) as a "possible" human carcinogen, but no conclusive research has emerged either way.

"We decided to find out what the effect of non-ionizing radiation is on rodents of different ages," Natalia Krivova, lead researcher at the TSU's Biology and Biophysics Research Institute, said in a statement this week.

TSU scientists experimented on male Wistar rats, preferred by scientists for having similar reactions to external stimuli as humans. They tested three different age groups: 5-6 week old rats (corresponding to human adolescents), 10-11 week old (human adults age 40 and up) and rats aged 17-18 weeks (humans 65 and older). All were exposed to RF-EMF frequencies for five weeks, which is equivalent to about four years of human lifespan.

The study showed no outward changes between the rats exposed to the radiation and the control group.

"However, a more detailed study of the rats' brain tissue after exposure to the 5G antenna revealed a significant change in the ratio of antioxidants and oxidants," Krivova said.

It is still unclear whether the changes will lead to positive or negative changes in the rats' cognitive abilities, or whether their bodies will somehow compensate for the disruption, she added, calling for further research into the subject....<<<Read More>>>...

Other Countries Are Taking the Health Risks of 5G and Wireless Radiation Seriously. Why Isn’t the U.K.?

Momentum is building in the campaign to try to protect children from harmful smartphone use. Earlier this year, Miriam Cates MP led a lively debate on this subject, while the Education Committee led an inquiry entitled, ‘Screen Time – Impacts on Education and Wellbeing’. The grassroots movement, including Smartphone Free Childhood, Safe Screens and others is gathering pace. The latter organisation is in fact actively supporting MP Josh MacAlister’s Safer Phones Bill launched earlier this month, which aims to “make smartphones less addictive for children and empower families and teachers to cut down on children’s daily smartphone screen time”.

The  dangers of smartphone use are clearly serious and encompass addiction, harmful content, exposure to sexual abuse and bullying, disruption of learning, behavioural changes through the habits adopted and the loss of previously normal childhood activities and social interactions. The movement hails Jonathan Haidt as the “world’s leading voice” on the damage caused to children by a phone-based childhood. Haidt identifies the damage as an “adolescent mental health crisis”.

The diagnosis, therefore, is overwhelmingly one of psychological damage. What I find astounding, however, is that with the exception of Safe Screens, no-one has mentioned the effects on children’s health of the wireless radiation signals emitted by smart devices, Wi-Fi or phone masts. All appear to assume that the only issue is the way children interact with screens along with the harmful social media content....<<<Read More>>>...

Cellphone Radiation Causes Cheek Cells to Die, Study Finds

Exposure to 3G cellphone radiation caused cell damage and death in the user's cheek tissue, which could lead to the development of cancer, according to a new peer-reviewed study.

The study authors — including Michael Kundi, Ph.D., with the Center for Public Health at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria — said they found "clear evidence for induction of acute toxicity and disturbance of the cell cycle (cytokinesis) as a consequence of exposure" to radiofrequency (RF) radiation levels used by 3G smartphones.

"These processes may possibly lead to the formation of neoplastic cells," they wrote in their report, published in Environmental Research.

Malignant neoplasms are cancerous tumors, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

Kundi and his co-authors said their study — which used people, not mice — was the "first controlled human intervention trial concerning cytotoxic/genotoxic effects of mobile phone radiation."...<<<Read More>>>...

It is mobile phones and not the towers that cause health problems, Swedish researchers concluded

In 2004, a letter to the editor of the European Journal of Cancer Prevention from two Swedish researchers stated that 1997 was a curious year in Sweden. It was marked by a decline in public health and the emergence of electrosensitivity as a growing concern. Their findings were met with resistance from government and public health authorities.

Yesterday, Arthur Firstenberg published a newsletter which highlighted the significance of the findings as described in the 2004 letter.

Electrosensitivity is also known as being electrically hypersensitive (“EHS”). This condition has been reported to affect an increasing number of people in Sweden, as well as in other countries such as Sweden, Switzerland and the United States.

Olle Johansson and Örjan Hallberg’s research highlighted the potential health effects of electromagnetic fields (“EMF”), including headaches, giddiness, nausea, skin rashes and much more.

Their research demonstrated the need for further investigation into the causes of these health issues but their findings were met with resistance from government and health authorities. In the words of Hallberg: “Our expert authorities seem to be extremely unwilling to try to find out the cause because large financial interests can then be threatened.”...<<<Read More>>>....

The Danger of Electromagnetic Fields

Electricity is a bigger cause of problems and far more dangerous than most people imagine. If you spend most of your day close to or working with an electricity supply or electrical equipment, the chances of developing cancer are considerably increased.

There are many ways in which our modern environment can cause cancer, can damage the human immune system and can increase our susceptibility and vulnerability to many different types of disease – including infections and cancer.

But electricity is almost certainly a much bigger cause of problems – and far more dangerous – than most people imagine.

If you spend most of your time working with or close to an electrical appliance, if you live or work near to an electricity supply line or if you spend your days working with electrical equipment then the chances of you developing cancer of one sort or another are considerably increased.

Of course, the men in suits won’t tell you this. They’ll frighten you half to death about minority threats such as AIDS and radon because the former is a politically and commercially useful threat and the latter seems like an excellent way to boost the building industry, but they won’t give you any warning about the danger of electricity because they don’t want to annoy the many large and powerful business interests which sell, market, service or supply electricity and electrical equipment....<<<Read More>>>...

5G Defense Powder contains key nutritional ingredient that may help protect your body’s cells from health risks linked to 5G exposure and electropollution

5G technology (5G), which stands for "fifth generation," is the latest generation in mobile technology and is now being used in nearly all broadband cellular networks. Its steadily increasing popularity can be traced to its fast connection speeds, which can range anywhere from 10 to 100 times faster than current 4G networks, or the fourth generation of mobile phone technology.

But unlike 4G technology, 5G technology uses "ultra high frequency" or "ultra high intensity" millimeter waves to work.

The millimeter wavelength (mmWave) uses "directed energy" instead of the "spread energy" of 4G technology. But since 5G technology uses different hardware from 4G technology to deliver signals, the former will require new and more cell towers to be built very closely to one another.

The danger lies in the inevitable and unprecedented levels of exposure to electromagnetic radiation in almost all urban and populated areas...<<<Read More>>>...
