Your Natural Sleep Remedy

For anyone who’s struggled to get a full night of deep, restorative sleep, you know how exhausting it can be to spend your nights tossing and turning, only to greet the morning in a fog. And perhaps you’re beginning to notice that it’s affecting more than your energy. It can ruin your mood, contribute to weight gain, cloud your focus, and generally make life less enjoyable.

You’re far from alone. An estimated two-thirds of adults worldwide aren’t getting the recommended eight hours every night. And while there’s no shortage of sleep aids promising better rest, there’s something deeply important we often overlook: The quality of our sleep isn’t determined by one thing alone. It’s influenced by our lifestyle, diet, gut health, and more. That’s why the best remedy is often a holistic one.

Think of your body as a garden. When a flower struggles to bloom, we care for it with curiosity. Does the soil need nourishment? Is it getting enough sunlight? Does it need more water or perhaps a little room to breathe? Your body deserves that same loving attention. By tending to what may be out of alignment, you can begin cultivating the conditions for your body to naturally fall asleep and wake up refreshed....<<<Read More>>>...

Writing Your Story

Everyone, at one time or another, has wanted to express their own story. Writing a memoir to read privately, share with family or friends, or publish is an emotionally satisfying way to gain perspective on your experiences while sharing your unique voice. We’ve all experienced feelings and events in our lives that we are longing to write down. Giving in to that urge can give you an outlet for purging any frustration, anxiety, or long-dormant feelings. No one else has to read it. You may even want to write your story without reading it right away. If you want to share it, reading your story to others can help meet your need to be heard.

Satisfying the desire to tell your story isn’t predicated on your writing ability. It does, however, take effort to write down the truth in detail. Your memories, captured on paper as descriptive scenes, sights, sounds, and scents, may at first seem disconnected or incomplete. But rest assured that you have the ability to shape your recollections into stories. This process can also help you understand your life experiences. And when you finish writing, you may be surprised by what you’ve accomplished. Your story can encompass as much or as little of your life as you like. You may be surprised by new insights or find yourself exploring your roots, your identity, and your future through your words. Allow your writing to guide you, and write as truthfully as possible. Don’t worry about what others will think of your personal journey, your style of writing, or your words.

Research has shown that writing a personal narrative filled with feelings and perceptions can create long-term health benefits. As you write, remember to have compassion for yourself, particularly when writing about traumatic events. If you are a young person, you can add to your life story as you grow older. Your writing may help family members know you better, or they may understand themselves more through reading about your experiences. More importantly, you’re expressing yourself in a permanent way, giving a gift to yourself, and letting your voice be heard. (Daily OM)

When We’re Feeling Anxious

So many of us are feeling dysregulated right now — especially as we experience the financial pinch, navigate emotional struggles, and witness unprecedented collective events unfolding around us. It’s only natural that anxiety would find its way in. But what might happen if, alongside everything that feels difficult, we intentionally turned our attention toward the small things that help bring us back to center?

Take a moment to reflect. Have there been pockets of goodness in your life? Maybe you’ve gotten some much-needed time away from work. Perhaps you’ve tried a new recipe, enjoyed a meal around the table with people you love, or eaten at your favorite restaurant. Maybe you’ve begun taking care of yourself in new ways and adopted some helpful wellness practices.

Life can be hard and beautiful at the same time, and part of caring for ourselves is learning to notice both. We may not always have control over what is happening around us. But we can choose how we meet this moment. And sometimes, tending to our mental health begins with something very small: seeing what nourishes us, appreciating what is here, and taking one small step toward greater groundedness, harmony, and well-being....<<<Daily OM>>>...

The REAL conspiracy theories

We underestimate neo-Marxist ideologues (“woke”) at our peril. “Woke” people are hypocritical, irrational and dangerous because they reject logic, approve suppression of dissent, and support the Great Reset and vaccination.

On the plus side, because of their support for vaccination and rushing off to get the latest version, they will eventually kill themselves off.

Among the woke are staff at corporate media organisations, who most likely believe the nonsense they spout. As such, Dr Coleman asserts that employees of corporate media and major internet companies, such as the BBC, Google, and Facebook, are the real “conspiracy theorists” because they hold false beliefs about government, public health, climate change and global institutions....<<<Read More>>>...

The Art of Being Here

Mindfulness has become one of the defining buzzwords of modern self-care, yet its true meaning often gets lost in the noise of wellness trends. Strip away the app subscriptions, the aesthetic meditation cushions, and the jargon, and you are left with a practice that is radically simple: paying attention to what is happening right now, on purpose, and without judgment.

At its core, mindfulness is an active choice to anchor your awareness in the present. It means noticing the swift, subtle thoughts drifting through your mind without getting swept up in their stories. It means tuning into the physical sensations in your body — the tension in your shoulders or the rise and fall of your breath. In daily life, it manifests as total presence: engaging completely in the conversation you are having or giving your full, undivided focus to the task resting in front of you...<<<Read More>>>...

When You’re Feeling Despair

Anyone who has walked through the valley of despair and come out the other side knows that even in darkness, seeds of light can be found. Often their tendrils reach out of the gloom and into the daylight alongside the journeyer who emerges from that deep sorrow. When we find ourselves in a place of despair, it can help to know this so we don’t give up. We can stop, take a deep breath, and realize that somehow we will find ourselves on the other side of this troubled time — and that we may even emerge with something new to offer.

Despair has been around for as long as humans have been able to express themselves, and many of the great artists, teachers, and visionaries have labored through times of depression and hopelessness. Their words, images, and lives can serve as beacons in the darkness, even if they can’t always immediately lead us out. In the end, we must find our own way, and this is why despair often overwhelms us when it comes; we doubt that we have the resources to contend with such a formidable presence all by ourselves. This is when we must come to our own aid and know in our hearts that we have what it takes to keep moving forward in the general direction of the light.

Even though we must ultimately rely on ourselves, that doesn’t mean we can’t ask for help. Our friends and family can assist us, as can our inner guides and helping spirits. They can serve the purpose of a fire that burns throughout the night, keeping us warm and providing a light for us to see the changes we may need to make in order to move forward. In addition, there truly are seeds of light inside us, however small, waiting to unfurl their shoots, if only we will give them the time. (Daily Mail)

Quote for the Day

Are You Half-Full or Half-Empty?

We’re all familiar with the metaphorical story of two people looking at the same glass and one perceiving it as half full while the other sees it as half empty. As much as we’ve heard this, it’s still a valuable exercise to really observe our minds and notice whether we’re engaged in half-full or half-empty thinking. People will refer to themselves as being one type or the other as if it were a permanent characteristic, but we are all capable of shifting into a half-full consciousness if we simply make the effort.

When we look at our lives with half-empty consciousness, we perceive a lack and think that the other half of what we want is missing. We are coming from a position of expectation and entitlement. On the other hand, when we look at our lives as half full, we perceive fullness. It’s as if we recognize that our cup could be completely empty, and so we’re grateful for what we see as a bounty — not something we expect or believe we’re owed, but a gift. In half-full consciousness, we count our blessings. When we look at our lives, we see all the elements that are in place and all the things we do have. This doesn’t necessarily mean we don’t seek more, but we seek from a place of fullness instead of from a place of lack. This fullness draws positive energy into our lives and often attracts more abundance.

If you’d like to begin to make the shift into half-full consciousness, try imagining your life as an empty glass — this is your life without all the people you know, the work you do, your home, or your current state of physical well-being. This is just an empty, open space waiting to be filled. Once you have that feeling of openness in your mind, begin filling it with all the people, things, and places that make up your life. You may be surprised to find your glass overflowing....<<<Read More>>>....
