Long Meg And Her Daughters Stone Circle Nr Penrith, Cumbria, Uk is reputed to be the last remaining working Druid's circle in the UK. It is a gentle and subtle-powered stone circle unlike Swinside & Castlerigg stone circles elsewhere in Cumbria; which are both a more brutal and 'darker' energy associated with them. To be in the centre of the circle round of Log Meg & Her Daughters is to be at peace; it is to be within a sacred space which transcends the human awareness.
I last visited Long Meg & Her Daughters before I was familiar and comfortable with the concepts of portals and doorways between dimensions. Looking back now to the times I would visit this hallowed place; I realise now that upon entering the circle, a portal must be wandered through because the world within the circle is completely different to the world outside of the circle.
Long Meg, herself (illustrated left) is a single tall obelisk-like sarcen composed of a stone different to the other smaller stones comprising the circle.
