Search A Light In The Darkness

"Evolving Circles"

I stand on the beach
Naked and alone
The shining sun is a blinding light
I shield my eyes from that ball of fire
Through my mask of fingers I gaze to the sea
and watch the white horses gallop along the shore
I feel a cooling breeze touch my skin, ruffle my hair
On its tentacles I hear an eagle’s cry
High above me ... coming closer

My vision extends, my consciousness expands
and I see the human on a beach struggling with the life giver
I move close, closer until my aura is touching the mortal
Our thoughts link and I realise we share the same fears
Mother earth is dying
she is throttled by the horrific poisons
she can barely sustain life
thus she is cruel in her love for all her creations
slowly she kills of the weak until eventually
they all must die
We share invisible tears
Our link strong

I land on the outstretched arm
and my human part catches the glint in my eye
We share the understanding
Then I am soaring on a thermal, higher and higher
towards the heavens

I am running then with the wind in my hair
diving through the advancing white horses
Breaking the surf feeling the shock of the cold sea
Beneath the waves I swim
Deeper and deeper
My lungs screaming for air
My brain receives the signals, I must breathe
But I am committed now to this fanatical cause

The land is forgotten, I am a creature of the sea
The sun is gone from my sight
I dive to the deepest recesses of the ocean
Below the ocean floor, into the trenches which hide there
Screaming for air, the pressure immense

My form evolves after much time to cope with the change
The surface world is forgotten
As I waken in a life away from there
The eagle is a memory deep within my mind

The shore a vague recollection in my dreams
The cycle returns then and it becomes time to float
To release the pressure and evolve my form
Into something to cope with the air, with the sun, with the land
Bare feet wander the sun kissed sands
Curiosity makes me leave behind the beach

I wander inland
Into the mountains
I see the lakes
I find the creature I will call the eagle
I recognise her
She is familiar
I know her from somewhere
And then I remember

I find my words carved in the stone of a cave
A recess I crawled into for comfort, for warmth, for protection
I read and I understand

"Man is the dream of the dolphin
Grasp the key to understand life is an eternal circle
A pattern which waits to be broken
So all can move on to the next phase"
