Instead of embracing the fact that others may be ahead of them in the development and honing of their skills, they take to wasting so much time, and energy, on trying to bring down these others to a level below that of their own.
It's a sheer waste of time, and in the long run it will be themselves that suffer. Instead of throwing the barbed wire, and willing harm on these others, they should learn to cast aside the ego and embrace those who they have chosen to despise and ridicule in this way.
In truth, those who are on the receiving end of this malice will have developed defensive methods to avoid being maimed by these callous attacks. Their work should rarely suffer, for within their psyche their advanced awareness will have learnt how to absorb this negative; putting it to good use; filtering and converting it into positive. Thus, only making them stronger; all the while those who direct the malice shall only grow weaker ... as it is their life force they drain. The industry has witnessed the downfall of so many who choose to attack others ... sadly some have lost in their lives; such is the seriousness of this type of constant attack on those they despise and even hate.
It is a pointless series of actions. For there will always be those more advanced in their techniques and their abilities. This will never change; humans are individuals with different levels of awareness. Those that exhibit serious issues with their egos; having their egos well out of control; should in truth seek the correct guidance and nurturing that will guide them to practising their arts with their ego under control. Much like those who they attack so readily. For those they attack exhibit the mirror image they really want to reflect, but are unable to because their false ego stands in their way. In truth, it is the inexperience of their teachers; or the inaccuracy of the teachings they follow; which are ultimately the cause of their falsehood and their egocentric approach to the psychic field.
This requires a serious overhaul before they should continue practising their trade. Otherwise, they will only imagine to practice what they claim to practice. Such is the way of the false ego trail.
