Magnesium Depletion Caused By Pharmaceuticals Can Increase Your Risk Of Disease

The big question is; are pharmaceuticals making you sick?

There is plenty of available research which shows that the popular over-the-counter medications can deplete your body of the vital mineral magnesium.

Magnesium deficiency, although very rare, can lead to nausea, general fatigue, and a loss of appetite.

In more advanced cases, magnesium deficiency can lead to heart problems (including irregular heart rhythm), muscle cramping and spasms, weakness, trouble sleeping, seizures, and tremors. A magnesium deficiency could also cause poor memory or even anxiety.

Proton pump inhibitors, which are popular drugs used to treat excess stomach acid; are a potential threat to human health, especially when used for long periods of time.

Taking proton pump inhibitors, or PPIs, regularly may lead to magnesium deficiency. However, PPIs are not the only drugs that can negatively affect the bodies nutritional status; there are many popular drugs which can rob your body of essential nutrients like calcium and B vitamins. This information, of course, is almost never shared with patients. And where there is nutrient deficiency, there is likely to be poor health.

The popular diabetes drug metformin has been found to be linked to low levels of folate (another B vitamin) and B12. Statins also interfere with the production of the enzyme CoQ10, which is key for healthy cells.

Many common medications can deplete your body of vital nutrients. This, in turn, can lead to an array of medical symptoms; but in numerous cases, the effects and sources of nutrient deficiency have never been linked to their actual cause.

In summary, big pharma ‘medicines’ can be the cause of “drug-induced nutrient depletion” through a number of mechanisms, but these deficiencies often go unnoticed for long periods of time. It’s very unfortunate that modern medicine appears to have thrown ‘good nutrition’ out the window; choosing instead to bow down to the “let’s make money out of sick humans” agenda.
