Cops didn’t check her bed

Bungling cops did not send Madeleine McCann’s bedding for forensic tests, it was revealed yesterday. They could have lost clothing fibres or even a fingerprint left by an abductor, a Portuguese forensic lab source said. Half the evidence needed to find out what happened to Maddie was not tested, the source said. Only hair samples were sent to the lab, he told Portuguese paper 24 Horas.

He said: “It is obvious it would have been good if they had sent sheets, blankets, pillows and even the mattress. Some important clue could have been found.”

Police have already admitted all DNA evidence was contaminated because the flat was not secured. (The Sun)
