How The Media Is Creating A Sensemaking Crisis

[Collective Evolution]: There are many reasons why we have a crisis in sensemaking taking place in our culture right now. Which is to say, a breakdown in how we agree upon what is happening around us and converge on truth.

We’ve always have disagreements in human culture, but have we ever been so at odds about basic facts? Have we ever seen such a wide scale degree of censorship around issues that are nowhere close to being black and white? I don’t know, but I can’t find an obvious time in history that compares to this scale.

Which leads me to this, on August 27th 2021, we released a video on YouTube about a vaccine passport hearing in Detroit. Within 4 hours it was removed from YouTube for YouTube claims was “Medical Misinformation.”

The interesting part of this was, this was a journalistic piece exploring the way local Detroit media covered a hearing in Michigan about vaccine passports. The video we produced contained some short snippets of a testimony from Dr. Christina Parks, who offered her expert opinion on why it would not be a good idea to mandate vaccines at this moment in time.

As you can note yourself in our video below, there are no medical claims made by myself, the journalist, and there is no push for the audience to decide on something medically based.

This was honest and neutral journalism pointing to the fact that objectively poor journalism was being done by some mainstream outlets, and how it’s causing a crisis in how we view science. Technofascism: Digital Book Burning in a Totalitarian Age

[Waking Times]: We are fast becoming a nation—nay, a world—of book burners.

While on paper, we are technically free to speak—at least according to the U.S. Constitution—in reality, however, we are only as free to speak as the government and its corporate partners such as Facebook, Google or YouTube may allow

That’s not a whole lot of freedom. Especially if you’re inclined to voice opinions that may be construed as conspiratorial or dangerous.

Take David Icke, for example.

Icke, a popular commentator and author often labeled a conspiracy theorist by his detractors, recently had his Facebook page and YouTube channel (owned by Google) deleted for violating site policies by “spreading coronavirus disinformation.”

The Centre for Countering Digital Hate, which has been vocal about calling for Icke’s de-platforming, is also pushing for the removal of all other sites and individuals who promote Icke’s content in an effort to supposedly “save lives.”

Translation: the CCDH evidently believes the public is too dumb to think for itself and must be protected from dangerous ideas.

This is the goosestepping Nanny State trying to protect us from ourselves.

In the long run, this “safety” control (the censorship and shadowbanning of anyone who challenges a mainstream narrative) will be far worse than merely allowing people to think for themselves.

Journalist Matt Taibbi gets its: “The people who want to add a censorship regime to a health crisis are more dangerous and more stupid by leaps and bounds than a president who tells people to inject disinfectant.”

Don’t fall for the propaganda.

These internet censors are not acting in our best interests to protect us from dangerous, disinformation campaigns about COVID-19, a virus whose source and behavior continue to elude medical officials. They’re laying the groundwork now, with Icke as an easy target, to preempt any “dangerous” ideas that might challenge the power elite’s stranglehold over our lives.

This is how freedom dies.

Big Tech strikes again: All criticism of transgenderism will now be treated as “malware,” equivalent to malicious code

[Natural News]: Just in time for the 2020 presidential election, a pair of college professors from the United Kingdom has unveiled a new technology for blocking “hate speech” online that involves algorithmically flagging politically incorrect language in the same way that anti-virus software identifies “malware.”

According to researcher Stephanie Ullmann and professor Marcus Tomalin, both from the University of Cambridge, this newfangled “Hate O’Meter,” as they’re calling it, will flag all potentially “controversial” content – at least as they personally define it as such – and place it into a “quarantine.”

CBS demands that YouTube censor “conspiracy theories” – but who defines them?

[Natural News]: Fake news giant CBS is calling on YouTube to expand its censorship agenda as a means to combat the spread of so-called “conspiracy theories” online. But who, exactly, gets to decide what constitutes a conspiracy theory?

Leslie Stahl of 60 Minutes spoke with YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki during a recent interview, vocalizing her concerns about the threat of not just conspiracy theories but also “hate speech” being posted on the Google-owned platform.

In Stahl’s view, YouTube isn’t doing nearly enough to curb certain forms of free speech online, even though YouTube has been heavily cracking down on “wrongspeak” in recent days, as well as introducing new terms of service that aim to eliminate all channels that aren’t deemed “commercially viable.”

While addressing YouTube’s “tightening” of its hate speech policies, Stahl asked Wojcicki flat out, “Why’d you wait so long?” to which Wojcicki responded that YouTube has “had hate policies since the very beginning of YouTube.”

Wojcicki tried to proceed in explaining what these policies are until Stahl interrupted her with a quip about how YouTube’s hate speech policies have been “pretty ineffective.”

“You’re not operating under some freedom of speech mandate,” Stahl went on to state, emphasizing that “you get to pick,” referring to Wojcicki and YouTube, which types of content to allow and which types of content to ban.

“We do,” Wojcicki responded. “But we think there’s a lot of benefit from being able to hear from groups and underrepresented groups that otherwise we never would have heard from.”...<<<Read The Full Article Here>>>...

Google is taking censorship of health websites to the next level

There is a very easy solution here. Don't use the corruption known as Google. We use BING or DUCKDUCKGO as our search engine. We don't use Google Chrome either. We choose Waterfox instead. It's very easy to still be able to avoid the corrupt Google. 

[S.O.T.T]: Google is deliberately censoring all "non-mainstream" health websites that have gained any kind of serious traction, without exception.

They're not showing information that users want to see, or respecting what they're searching for. Instead, Google is taking it on themselves to decide what health information you're allowed to see, and changing your search results from behind the scenes.

I know what you're probably thinking: this sounds like a conspiracy theory.

But that's exactly why I wrote this post. If you look at the evidence I present in this post, you'll quickly see that this is no kooky conspiracy theory - it's real, and barely even a secret.

Now, when I say "censor," I mean that Google has deliberately placed a systematic penalty on the vast majority of health sites to make sure that they don't show up on the first page of search results. SelfHacked and Examine are just two of the sites that have been caught up in Google's latest "blacklist" - but we're also far from the only ones.

You can easily see this in action for yourself. In order to find SelfHacked content on Google now, you have to add "SelfHacked" to your search term or else it won't show up.

This isn't the case if you try the same searches on Bing, Yahoo, or DuckDuckGo, where we still rank highly for many health-related search terms. (DuckDuckGo has additional benefits in that they don't track you and serve much fewer ads, by the way.)

The Censorship of Alternative Media Is Virtual Book Burning

[Waking Times]: These days, as more and more people turn to the internet for essays and news, dissenting views are more often found online than in paperback.

And there are people in power who want this to stop because particularly after the last election, they’ve seen the power the internet has to change the entire course of a country.

Big Tech and Big Media hold most of the microphones and they like it that way. They tend to be united politically and they’ve been busily working toward silencing opposing views on the internet, branding them as “dangerous” or “ignorant.” Members of the alternative media, writers of alternative health news, and opinion bloggers are being censored at a rapid clip.

How is silencing opposing views on the internet any different than burning a library filled with inconvenient information?
