Ok this is an interesting image. If what we see on the left hand side is the moon eclipsing the sun then what is the bright light to the right hand side. Is this in fact the moon coming to go over the sun? Incidentally we didn't witness the black sky etc that is associated with a total eclipse. It is for that reason we assume this is the eclipse taking place. But we can't explain the sun light to the right hand side of the image.  

Let's be controversial, and I mean stir fry crazy to those who only consider the conventional view, let us suggest there are TWO suns in the sky here. The classic eclipse suggests one sun, and the sun seen down in London (We were watching live TV and the eclipse was taking place complete with the darkening sky) was this particular sun. The 2nd sun can be seen with its brightness ... and this was the sun we were seeing up in the North of England. This would imply that the eclipsing sun was around 250 - 300 miles away from us .... sounding crazy? Maybe. Maybe not.
