Sacred Geography & the Legend of Agartha: A Spiritual Journey Between History & Mystery

The history of peoples is made by the unwritten history of great travels and world travellers – a history that began long before Herodotus or Marco Polo, in the Neolithic or even earlier, in some fantastical age of mankind. Perhaps even at the dusk of the primordial Golden Age, with glaciation or flood, and with the first in a series of catastrophes faced by the human species. Then followed eras of the migrations of peoples and races. If we believe Plato, then the Atlanteans were the first colonists in the world, and they came from the West. Others say that their ancestors were the Hyperboreans, who fled snow and ice in the Far North of the continent.

Over the course of subsequent history, peoples would move from North to South and from East to West – and not otherwise. This constitutes their course through history – a path of aging, degeneration and, at times faster, at times slower, of inexorable decline. This is how great conquests began, those that encompass immense regions, entire continents, and this is how great wars start, like the one that raged under the walls of Ilium – or was this only a shadow of some mythical war waged in the far deeper past, during the mythical age of the Earth? Perhaps at the beginning of time, “in illo tempore.”

They did not rush towards unknown and exotic lands, but towards their lost homelands, towards mythical lands of the beginning, towards the riches of the Golden Age. Towards primordial, Edenic abundance. Towards Paradise Lost, such as the biblical one, which we have not stopped searching for here on Earth even today.

One Islamic mystic, Suhrawardi, claimed that after death the soul returns to the homeland, for merciful Allah himself commanded this, and this would not be possible if he had not previously resided in it. This mythical homeland is to be found somewhere in the “spiritual East.” In order to find the strength for this, we must start from the spiritual West, the “Western wells of exile.”

The true journey, true adventures of the spirit, this Sheikh taught, start in the West. This is a place like a grave, a stockade of the burial-place. Arriving on the soil of an unknown continent, Christopher Columbus thought he had discovered the New Earth mentioned in the Apocalypse of St. John. The famous seafarer believed he was in the Gulf of Paria, and in its fresh currents had discovered the origin of the four rivers of the lost heavenly garden, Eden itself. “God made me the messenger of the new heaven and the new earth, of which he spoke in the Apocalypse of St. John, and before that through the mouth of Isaiah,” Columbus proclaimed to King Juan, “and he showed me the place where to find it.” ...<<<Read More>>>...

Isle Of Avalon

An enigmatic hill rises out of the mist over the flat moors of southwestern England. Though worn by use, a terraced pathway, believed to be at least four millennia old, winds around and up the hill - a labyrinth. At the pinnacle stands a tower, the remnant of a medieval church long since destroyed, but now a symbol of the locale's enduring spiritual power. Nestled at the hill's base is the Chalice Well, where you can drink of its legendary healing waters. The hill is Glastonbury Tor, overlooking the market town of Glastonbury. You are here to explore Glastonbury's rich and varied spiritual history.

Glastonbury has been a place of spirituality and pilgrimage for at least several thousand years. Long-established as a Druid center of learning and sanctity, the town became host to the first Christian church in the west, built on the site that later housed the Glastonbury Abbey.

The abbey grew in prominence as a center of learning and spirituality in its own right, and was a significant medieval pilgrimage destination.

Glastonbury is now visited by pilgrims of myriad beliefs interested in its treasure trove of mystical sites. Once a small cluster of islands rising above the submerged Somerset Levels, Glastonbury plays host to the myths of Avalon - the sacred Druid island spiritual center later tied to Arthurian legend. The ruins of Glastonbury Abbey provide modern pilgrims a peaceful atmosphere for meditation. Walking the labyrinthine path up the Tor is not only a spiritual journey, but also allows ever-widening views of the green countryside. The gardens at the Tor's base provide an idyllic spot for thoughtful contemplation after drinking from the restorative waters of the Chalice Well.

Because of its contemporary renaissance as a pilgrimage destination, Glastonbury has evolved to meet the needs and interests of its visitors. After visiting the town's mystical locations, you can browse the myth and spirituality book shops or relax with a cup of tea at one of the local cafes.

Popular Notions Concerning the Sidhe Race

(Sacred Texts): From the earliest ages the world has believed in the existence of a race midway between the angel and man, gifted with power to exercise a strange mysterious influence over human destiny. The Persians called this mystic race Peris; the Egyptians and the Greeks named them demons, not as evil, but as mysterious allies of man, invisible though ever present; capable of kind acts but implacable if offended.

The Irish called them the Sidhe, or spirit-race, or the Feadh-Ree, a modification of the word Peri. Their country is the Tir-na-oge, the land of perpetual youth, where they live a life of joy and beauty, never knowing disease or death, which is not to come on them till the judgment day, when they are fated to pass into annihilation, to perish utterly and be seen no more. They can assume any form and they make horses out of bits of straw, on which they ride over the country, and to Scotland and back. They have no religion, but a great dread of the Scapular (Latin words from the Gospels written by a priest and hung round the neck). Their power is great over unbaptized children, and such generally grow up evil and have the evil eye, and bring ill luck, unless the name of God is instantly invoked when they look at any one fixedly and in silence.

All over Ireland the fairies have the reputation of being very beautiful, with long yellow hair sweeping the ground, and lithe light forms. They love milk and honey, and sip the nectar from the cups of the flowers, which is their fairy wine.

Underneath the lakes, and deep down in the heart of the hills, they have their fairy palaces of pearl and gold, where they live in splendour and luxury, with music and song and dancing and laughter and all joyous things as befits the gods of the earth. If our eyes were touched by a fairy salve we could see them dancing on the hill in the moonlight. They are served on vessels of gold, and each fairy chief, to mark his rank, wears a circlet of gold round his head.

The Sidhe race were once angels in heaven, but were cast out as a punishment for their pride. Some fell to earth, others were cast into the sea, while many were seized by demons and carried down to hell, whence they issue as evil spirits, to tempt men to destruction under various disguises; chiefly, however, as beautiful young maidens, endowed with the power of song and gifted with the most enchanting wiles. Under the influence of these beautiful sirens a man will commit any and every crime. Then when his soul is utterly black they carry him down to hell, where he remains for ever tortured by the demons to whom he sold himself.

The fairies are very numerous, more numerous than the human race. In their palaces underneath the hills and in the lakes and the sea they hide away much treasure. All the treasure of wrecked ships is theirs; and all the gold that men have hidden and buried in the earth when danger was on them, and then died and left no sign of the place to their descendants. And all the sold of the mine and the jewels of the rocks belong to them; and in the Sifra, or fairy-house, the walls are silver and the pavement is gold, and the banquet-hall is lit by the glitter of the diamonds that stud the rocks....Read More>>>...

The White Buffalo Calf Woman: Supernormal Experiences With A Message For Humanity

The concept of ‘Supernatural’ or ‘Supernormal’ abilities and phenomena are embedded throughout human history across multiple cultures. They have been documented in various ancient, medieval and modern history texts.

These stories span thousands of years, all the way up to the present day. You can find many recent examples in declassified Defense Department literature.

Indigenous people have passed down these stories orally for generations, and many of their stories/prophecies are now more important than ever.

But for the tellers of these stories, they aren’t mere tales with a mythological origin, they are accounts of real events that took place in the past, with a crucial message for the future, which is now.

The story I’d like to share with you today comes from Native American lore. It’s the story of the White Buffalo Calf Woman.

What really makes this story so hard hitting is the fact that this ‘supernatural/mythological’ woman gifted a pipe to the Lakota (also known as Sioux) people, and the pipe is currently kept on the Cheyenne River Reservation in South Dakota.

Some of the messages within this story may be telling of the current times we are in now....<<<Read More>>>...

Ragnarok

[Norse Mythology]: Ragnarok is the cataclysmic destruction of the cosmos and everything in it – even the gods. When Norse mythology is considered as a chronological set of tales, the story of Ragnarok naturally comes at the very end.

For the Vikings, the myth of Ragnarok was a prophecy of what was to come at some unspecified and unknown time in the future, but it had profound ramifications for how the Vikings understood the world in their own time. We’ll explore some of those ramifications below.

The word “Ragnarok” comes from Old Norse Ragnarök, “Fate of the Gods.” In an apparent play on words, some pieces of Old Norse literature also refer to it as Ragnarøkkr, “Twilight of the Gods.”

The event was also occasionally referred to as aldar rök, “fate of mankind,” and a host of other names.

Without further ado, here’s the tale itself...<<<Read The Full Article Here>>>...

GOLD For Longevity & Atmosphere Protection: Why Anunnaki from Planet Nibiru Said They Came to Earth

[Enki Speaks]: "Nibiru, the planet from which our genetic makers came to Earth 450,000 years ago, used to, at that time, near Earth and the sun (perigee), every 3,600 years. “For a time in cold is Nibiru engulfed; for part of its circuit by the Sun strongly is it heated. A thick atmosphere Nibiru envelops, by volcanic eruptions constantly fed. All manner of life this atmosphere sustains. In the cold period the inner heat of Nibiru it keeps about the planet, like a warm coat that is constantly renewed. In the hot period it shields Nibiru from the Sun’s scorching rays.” [ZS, Enki: 24]

The Anunnaki’s purpose on arriving on Earth was to acquire the monoatomic elements for the purpose of ingesting them and thus being able to lead long lives. It is noteworthy that the first attempt by the Anunnaki to obtain gold was extracting it from seawater, specifically the upper reaches of the Persian Gulf where the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers meet. According to Hudson, the primary form in which gold occurs in sea water is in its monoatomic state.

Prior to the human use of the ORME, the kings had access to Star Fire, essentially the menstrual blood of the “goddesses” of the Anunnaki. Because of the long lives of the Gods and Goddesses — due to their ingestion of the ORME and possibly genetic factors as well — this simple infusion of the goddess menstrual blood was more than sufficient to extend the lives of ordinary human beings. Keep in mind that the Anunnaki, the Gods, and Goddesses of mythology, may have lived for hundreds of thousands of years.

“Laurence Gardner wrote: “It was from the milk of Hathor that the pharaohs were said to gain their divinity, becoming gods in their own right. In more ancient Sumerian times, during the days of the original Star Fire ritual, the bloodline kings who were fed with the hormone-rich lunar essence of the Anunnaki goddesses were also said to have been nourished with their own milk — notably that of Ishtar [Inanna]. This milk contained an enzyme that was especially conducive to active longevity — and this was very likely the enzyme that genetic researchers have called telomerase.

This enzyme apparently has unique anti-aging properties, but apart from being present in malignant tumors and reproductive cells, telomerase is not normally expressed in body tissues. It seems, therefore, that somewhere within our DNA structure is the genetic ability to produce this anti-aging enzyme, but the potential has somehow been switched off [Which implies ability to switch it back on again] .
After the flood, there appeared to be less availability of the Star Fire (or the ORME). Then, around the time of Abraham, the Star Fire became totally unavailable, and the patriarchs from Abraham to David saw their ages diminish to the point that David only lived what might be considered a normal life span. In contrast to the later patriarchs, however, the lifespans of the Sumerian kings in descent from Ar-wi-um (Cain) and Etana continued at a generally high level. This was apparently accomplished by the substitution of the ORME for the Star Fire, but in this case only if you were a devotee of Enki — as opposed to Enlil, who had cut off his disciples (including Abraham, et al).

[ORME’s Modern Possibilities]

“The alchemists Lapidus and Eirenaeus Philalethes said: ‘The Philosopher’s Stone is no stone, but a powder with the power to transmute base metals into gold and silver. The stone which is to be the transformer of metals into gold must be sought in the precious metals in which it is enclosed and contained. It is called a stone by virtue of its fixed nature, and it resists the action of fire as successfully as any stone — but its appearance is that of a very fine powder, impalpable to the touch, fragment as to smell, in potency a most penetrative spirit, apparently dry, and yet unctuous, and easily capable of tingeing a plate of metal. The stone does not exist in nature but has to be prepared by art, in obedience to nature’s laws. Thus, you see our stone is made of gold alone, yet it is not common gold."...

“Gardner asked: ‘Given the facilities of today’s scientific advancement and our knowledge of atoms and nuclei, is it possible (as it was in the distant past) to convert gold [and other precious metals] into a sweet-tasting, ingestable white powder? Is it possible for that powder to outweigh its optimum weight of gold? Is it also possible for that same powder to under-weigh itself and to weigh less than nothing? Under such circumstances, is it possible that the powder can disappear from sight into another dimension of space-time and then be returned to its original state?'

The answer to each of these questions is yes — for this is the post-Star Fire mystery of the Phoenix, and it is the key to the Messianic bloodline enhancement through the fire-stone.’...read more>>>...

The Legend That Is Glastonbury

[Glastonberry Grove]: Glastonbury is famous for being one of the most mystical sites in the world. It has connections with King Arthur (the Arthurian legend), Joseph of Arimathea, Glastonbury Tor, The Abbey, the Glastonbury Giants or Zodiac, the intersection of Ley Lines and Earth Energy Lines. Glastonbury is also believed to be the mythical place known in Arthurian Lore as 'The Isle of Avalon'.

The ancient Celtic name for the Tor was Ynys Witrin, 'Island of Glass.' Another Celtic name was Caer Wydyr, 'Fort of Glass,' which is also the third name for the Celtic Otherworld. Surrounded mostly by water, a defensive wall known as Ponter's Ball was erected to the East and protected Glastonbury from the mainland. A bridge, known as the Pomparles or as Perilous Bridge, was the only dry access point to the south. Pomparles is thought to be the place where Bedwyr, from the Arthurian legend, returned the sword Excalibur to the Lady Of The Lake after the Battle of Camlann.

The word 'tor' means a hill or rocky peak. Atop the Tor stands a tower, the remains of a church. The tower's true purpose as either part of a church or of a fortification is not known but in the Middle Ages most of the structure, except the tower, was destroyed by an earthquake and landslide in 1275CE. For the Celtics, the Tor was believed to be the entrance to Annwfn, the Celtic Otherworld, and to the Palace of Gwynn ap Nudd, Afallach's brother and the main Otherworld Celtic god. Celtic legends claim the hill itself is/was hollow and that it was the entrance to the Celtic Underworld.

Both the names Avalon and Afallach refer to apples, apples that once grew in Glastonbury. Being a Otherworld sacred site, Glastonbury would be the site where a Celtic king would be sent when near or at death. Such was the case of King Arthur when he was sent to Avalon after his final battle.

This hill rises 522 feet above sea level, dominates the Glastonbury landscape, and is visible for miles in the surrounding countryside. Before the marshes were drained, this hill gave the appearance of an island and perhaps gave birth to the myth of the Isle of Avalon. The hill is the oldest and most involved location on the site. Long before the construction of the chapel that sits atop, the mound of Earth, a natural feature, was once a fortress with a wooden wall surrounding the hill at the bottom. The mound has been carved with a trail that winds around and up to the top. The trail is very old and is believed to have been first carved by Druids for this ancient site of worship. Some investigators believe the trail was carved by the Knights Templar as a marker for this site to link it with the Holy Grail.

From both ancient and current times, the Tor has also been a sanctuary of Goddess worship. Goddess worship can be found in the Celtic and Arthurian legends; the Lady Vivien, a Celtic water goddess and also known as the Lady Of The Lake.

As a sacred territory, a federal assembly of twelve tribes upheld the local law. Known as the Twelve Hides of Glaston, divine law was administered by priestly rulers. King Arviragus, a pagan ruler in 63CE, was the first to grant Twelve Hides, or 120 acres of land, upon twelve early christian missionaries led by Joseph of Arimathea. Though no record exists it is believed that granting of the Twelve Hides was a tradition from an earlier time when Glastonbury was a Druid sanctuary. No authority outside the Twelve Hides could administer in Glastonbury. Interestingly, the rights of the Twelve Hides were recognized by later Saxon and Norman kings. Each new successive king solidified the rights of the Twelve Hides which binded the successor to recognize their authority...read more>>>...

History of the Jack O’ Lantern

People have been making jack-o’-lanterns at Halloween for centuries. The practice originated from
an Irish myth about a man nicknamed “Stingy Jack.”

According to the story, Stingy Jack invited the Devil to have a drink with him. True to his name, Stingy Jack didn’t want to pay for his drink, so he convinced the Devil to turn himself into a coin that Jack could use to buy their drinks. Once the Devil did so, Jack decided to keep the money and put it into his pocket next to a silver cross, which prevented the Devil from changing back into his original form. Jack eventually freed the Devil, under the condition that he would not bother Jack for one year and that, should Jack die, he would not claim his soul.

The next year, Jack again tricked the Devil into climbing into a tree to pick a piece of fruit. While he was up in the tree, Jack carved a sign of the cross into the tree’s bark so that the Devil could not come down until the Devil promised Jack not to bother him for ten more years....read more>>>...

Mysterious Legendary Metal From Atlantis Found In Shipwreck Off Sicily

When the mythical island of Atlantis famously submerged into the ocean, it took all of its orichalcum with it. The legendary cast metal was reputedly second only to gold in value. Now, a team of divers say they’ve recovered 39 blocks of orichalcum in a sixth-century shipwreck on the seafloor near Sicily, Discovery News reports. The 2,600-year-old ship, likely from Greece or somewhere in Asia Minor, was carrying the metal to Gela in southern Sicily when it was caught in a storm and sank around 300 meters (1,000 feet) from the port.

"Nothing similar has ever been found," Sebastiano Tusa of Sicily's Sea Office says. "We knew orichalcum from ancient texts and a few ornamental objects." According to Plato’s Critias, the metal was mined only on Atlantis, where it was used to cover the inside of Poseidon’s temple.

Experts nowadays agree that orichalcum is a brass-like alloy that was made in that past by reacting zinc ore, charcoal, and copper metal. When the newly discovered ingots were analyzed with X-ray fluorescence, Discovery explains, the metal turned out to be an alloy made with 75 to 80 percent copper, 15 to 20 percent zinc, and small percentages of nickel, lead, and iron...read more>>>...

The Lady Of The Lake

This mysterious female gave Arthur his sword, Excalibur. She stole Lancelot when he was a child and cured him when he went mad. She may be a Celtic lake divinity in origin, perhaps of the same kind as the Gwagged Annwn - lake fairies in modern Welsh folklore. In Ulrich, the fairy who raised Lancelot is the mother of Mabuz. As Mabuz is probably identical with the Celtic god Mabon, it would seem that the fairy must be Morgan Le Fay who was, earlier, Mabon's mother. Matrona. A lady of the lake, perhaps a different one, was killed by Balin.

Vivien may very well have been the Lady of the Lake in the Arthurian Legends and stories. Vivien, sometimes called Nineve, Nimue, Niniane, etc., is best known as the woman who sealed Merlin in a cave or a tree. Despite foreseeing his fate, Merlin was unable to prevent being captivated and captured by the woman Richard Wilbur has called "a creature to bewitch a sorcerer." Vivien is an ambiguous character. In Malory, for example, even though Nyneve, who is one of the Ladies of the Lake, deprives Arthur of Merlin's service, she rescues him twice, first by saving him from Accolon who has been given Excalibur by Morgan le Fay to use against Arthur, and then by preventing him from donning the destructive cloak sent to him by Morgan. She also uses her enchantments to punish Ettarde for her mistreatment of Pelleas. In the end she and Pelleas "lovede togedyrs duryng their lyfe." (King Arthurs Knights)

A Word On 'Asclepius'

Theio.com: ASKLEPIOS (or Asclepius) was the god of medicine and reputed ancestor of the Asklepiades, the ancient Greek doctors' guild. He was the son of Apollon and the Trikkaian princess Koronis. His mother died in labour and was laid out on the pyre to be consumed, but his father rescued the child, cutting him from her womb. From this he received the name Asklepios "to cut open." The boy was raised by the kentauros (centaur) Kheiron who instructed him in the art of medicine. Asklepios grew so skilled in the craft that he was able to restore the dead to life. However, because this was a crime against the natural order, Zeus destroyed him with a thunderbolt. After his death Asklepios was placed amongst the stars as the constellation Ophiochus ("the Serpent Holder")...read more>>>...

The Return of the Elder Race & Opening the Gateway of the Fifth Kingdom

New Dawn Magazine: René Guénon’s assertion, culled from ancient esoteric sources, that in the remote past humanity’s first civilisation arose in the ice-free Arctic zone is not without geological support.According to the well-known researcher J.S. Gordon, “there is no scientific doubt that the polar ice caps have melted and reformed many, many times over and that this has always affected human society (plus animal and plant species), often catastrophically.” He points out that the great Ice Age that lasted about two million years, ending about twelve thousand years ago, was made up of thirty or so minor Ice Ages, with warm intervals of polar deglaciation in between them, each creating periods of thousands of years of temperate conditions at the poles. Any one of these warm intervals would have been hospitable to a circumpolar civilisation...read more>>>...

The Lost Lands of Mu and Lemuria: Was Australia Once Part of a Sunken Continent?

Lemuria and Mu are interchangeable names given to a lost land believed to have been located somewhere in either the southern Pacific or Indian Oceans. This ancient continent was apparently the home of an advanced and highly spiritual culture, perhaps the mother race of all mankind, but it sank beneath the waves many thousands of years ago as the result of a geological cataclysm of some kind.
The thousands of rocky islands scattered throughout the Pacific, including Easter Island, Tahiti, Hawaii and Samoa, have been claimed by some to be the only surviving remains of this once great continent. The theory of a lost continent in this area has been put forward by many different people, most notably in the mid 19th century by scientists in order to explain the unusual distribution of various animals and plants around the Indian and Pacific Oceans. In the late 19th century occultist Madame Blavatsky reincarnated the idea of Lemuria as a lost continent / spiritual homeland and influenced a host of subsequent occultists and mystics including well known American psychic healer and Prophet Edgar Cayce. The popularisation of Lemuria / Mu as a purely physical place began in the 20th century with ex-British army officer Colonel James Churchward, and the idea still has many adherents today.

But is there any physical evidence to back up these claims of an ancient continent beneath the Pacific or Indian Ocean? Or should these ‘lost homeland’ stories be interpreted in another way entirely, perhaps as the symbol of a mythical vanished ‘Golden Age’ of man?... read more...

The Legend Of Shamballa

The inhabitants of Shamballa are supposed to have developed an advanced science and technology, which they put to the service of spiritual ends. Tibetan medical texts believed to have come from the kingdom describe human anatomy and physiology, sophisticated theories and methods of diagnosis, and ways to prevent and cure serious diseases. The study of these sciences helps the inhabitants of Shamballa to master the highest science of all, the science of mind or meditation. Through its practise they develop a direct awareness and control of their minds and bodies; these abilities enable them to cure themselves of various ailments. As a side effect, they also acquire extraordinary powers, such as the ability to read others thoughts, foresee the future, and walk at very high speeds. If attacked by an aggressor, they simple either materialise exact copies of his weapons and turn them against him, or they make themselves invisible. Lamas believe that Shamballa has existed since the beginning of the world but little is known about its early history.

Shamballa came to the attention of a larger western audience through the beliefs of the Theosophists. During the second half of the nineteenth century, a Russian named Madame Blavatsky founded the Theosophical Society, a widespread mystical movement that provided the west with its first significant exposure to eastern religions, particularly Buddhism. She claimed to be receiving secret teachings through telepathic and written messages from spiritual masters living somewhere behind the Himalayas. A number of her followers believed that the highest of these masters, “The Lord of The World” resided in Shamballa, an invisible oasis hidden in the Gobi Desert. According to their belief, Shamballa was the spiritual centre of the world and the original source of the secret doctrines of Theosophy.

Some lamas have suggested another way in which Shamballa could exist from a modern, scientific point of view, as a civilisation on another planet. On the basis of chance alone, it seems certain that somewhere in the universe there must beintelligent life that has developed a science and technology more advanced than ours. If Shamballa were such a civilisation, it might even exist in the form described by the texts, and its inhabitants could actually possess the power and riches attributed to them. In that case, theshape of the kingdom, round like a globe, might represent the planet on which they live. On the other hand, Shamballa mightbe an outpost that these aliens have established on earth and concealed through their advanced science and technology...READ MORE...

The Beast of Gévaudan

One of the most perplexing cryptozoological mysteries of all time, the Beast of Gévaudan was a cow-sized, wolf-like monster which terrorized the district of Gévaudan (Lozère), France, from 1764 until 1767.
This tiny province, in the Margeride Mountains of south-central France, first became aware of the Beast in June, 1764. That month, a young woman was attacked by a large, wolf-like monster in the Forêt de Merçoire near Langogne. She was one of the few people who survived an encounter with la Bête, a creature which was, peculiarly, referred to in the feminine. In October of that year, two hunters came across the Beast and shot at it from close range. The Beast was hit a total of four times, but it seemed relatively untouched.
A Capt. Duhamel, who commanded nearly 60 soldiers, began his own hunt for La Bête, and on several occasions wounded it--but it was still not killed. In 1765, King Louis XV himself sent an experienced wolf-hunter named Denneval to Gévaudan to kill the Beast. Before Denneval himself managed to track down the Beast, a man named de la Chaumette saw the Beast near his home, near St.-Chely. He and his two brothers went out to a pasture in hopes of killing the Beast. They shot it twice, but it still didn't die.
In June, 1765, Denneval gave up his hunt. The previous month, King Louis sent out his chief gun-carrier, Antoine de Beauterne. On September 21, he launched a hunt in the Béal Ravine, near Pommier. He shot what he believed was the Beast. It was an extremely large wolf, 6 feet long. De Beauterne's kill was preserved up until this century in the Museum of Natural History in Paris. But the killings still continued.
In the summer of 1767, hundreds of peasants made pilgrimages to Notre-Dame de Beaulieu Cathedral near Mount Chauvet to pray for deliverance from the creature, which was widely believed to be either punishment sent by God, or possibly a loup-garou (werewolf). One of the peasants who went to the cathedral was a hermit named Jean Chastel. He had his rifle and three bullets blessed. On June 19, 1767, an area noble organized a huge hunt, with more than 300 participants. Chastel, at the Sogne d'Aubert, waited for the Beast to appear, praying all the while.
When it appeared, he shot it. Finally, it died. What was the Beast? The French peasants of the area believed it to be some sort of demon, but an English account from about the same time said the Beast was most likely a member of "a new species", which they said was a hybrid of tiger and hyena. Learned men believed it to have been a wolverine, a bear, or even a baboon. (fortune city)

Gold And Silver The Sacred Metals Of Atlantis.

It is evident that every primitive people uses as money those articles upon which they set the highest value--as cattle, jewels, slaves, salt, musket-balls, pins, snuff, whiskey, cotton shirts, leather, axes, and hammers; or those articles for which there was a foreign demand, and which they could trade off to the merchants for articles of necessity--as tea, silk, codfish, coonskins, cocoa-nuts, and tobacco. Then there is a later stage, when the stamp of the government is impressed upon paper, wood, pasteboard, or the bark of trees, and these articles are given a legal-tender character.

When a civilized nation comes in contact with a barbarous people they seek to trade with them for those things which they need; a metal-working people, manufacturing weapons of iron or copper, will seek for the useful metals, and hence we find iron, copper, tin, and lead coming into use as a standard of values--as money; for they can always be converted into articles of use and weapons of war. But when we ask bow it chanced that gold and silver came to be used as money, and why it is that gold is regarded as so much more valuable than silver, no answer presents itself. It was impossible to make either of them into pots or pans, swords or spears; they were not necessarily more beautiful than glass or the combinations of tin and copper. Nothing astonished the American races more than the extraordinary value set upon gold and silver by the Spaniards; they could not understand it. A West Indian savage traded a handful of gold-dust with one of the sailors accompanying Columbus for some tool, and then ran for his life to the woods lest the sailor should repent his bargain and call him back. The Mexicans had coins of tin shaped like a letter T. We can understand this, for tin was necessary to them in hardening their bronze implements, and it may have been the highest type of metallic value among them. A round copper coin with a serpent stamped on it was found at Palenque, and T-shaped copper coins are very abundant in the ruins of Central America. This too we can understand, for copper was necessary in every work of art or utility.

All these nations were familiar with gold and silver, but they used them as sacred metals for the adornment of the temples of the sun and moon. The color of gold was something of the color of the sun's rays, while the color of silver resembled the pale light of the moon, and hence they were respectively sacred to the gods of the sun and moon. And this is probably the origin of the comparative value of these metals: they became the precious metals because they were the sacred metals, and gold was more valuable than silver--just as the sun-god was the great god of the nations, while the mild moon was simply an attendant upon the sun.

The Peruvians called gold "the tears wept by the sun." It was not used among the people for ornament or money. The great temple of the sun at Cuzco was called the "Place of Gold." It was, as I have shown, literally a mine of gold. Walls, cornices, statuary, plate, ornaments, all were of gold; the very ewers, pipes, and aqueducts--even the agricultural implements used in the garden of the temple--were of gold and silver. The value of the jewels which adorned the temple was equal to one hundred and eighty millions of dollars! The riches of the kingdom can be conceived when we remember that from a pyramid in Chimu a Spanish explorer named Toledo took, in 1577, $4,450,284 in gold and silver. ("New American Cyclopædia," art. American Antiquities.) The gold and silver of Peru largely contributed to form the metallic currency upon which Europe has carried on her commerce during the last three hundred years.

Gold and silver were not valued in Peru for any intrinsic usefulness; they were regarded as sacred because reserved for the two great gods of the nation. As we find gold and silver mined and worked on both sides of the Atlantic at the earliest periods of recorded history, we may fairly conclude that they were known to the Atlanteans; and this view is confirmed by the statements of Plato, who represents a condition of things in Atlantis exactly like that which Pizarro found in Peru. Doubtless the vast accumulations of gold and silver in both countries were due to the fact that these metals were not permitted to be used by the people. In Peru the annual taxes of the people were paid to the Inca in part in gold and silver from the mines, and they were used to ornament the temples; and thus the work of accumulating the sacred metals went on from generation to generation. The same process doubtless led to the vast accumulations in the temples of Atlantis, as described by Plato. Now, as the Atlanteans carried on an immense commerce with all the countries of Europe and Western Asia, they doubtless inquired and traded for gold and silver for the adornment of their temples, and they thus produced a demand for and gave a value to the two metals otherwise comparatively useless to man--a value higher than any other commodity which the people could offer their civilized customers; and as the reverence for the great burning orb of the sun, master of all the manifestations of nature, was tenfold as great as the veneration for the smaller, weaker, and variable goddess of the night, so was the demand for the metal sacred to the sun ten times as great as for the metal sacred to the moon. This view is confirmed by the fact that the root of the word by which the Celts, the Greeks, and the Romans designated gold was the Sanscrit word karat, which means, "the color of the sun." ... read more ...

Origins Of Serpent Gods

Source: bibliotecapleyades.net

Zecharia Sitchin points out that EnKi was given Africa, while EnLil had Mesopotamia, Inanna the Indus Valley, and NinHarsag the Sinai Peninsula. Notice that the Ethiopians, according to Jennings, were called the sons of Vulcan. This is the same appellation given to Adapa and Enmeduranki. Vulcan is none other than Ptah, who is none other than EnKi, according to popular syncretization.
Interestingly, Im-Hetep, or Imouthis, is given as Ptah's son, in the Memphite Triad. Imouthis is also known as Asklepios, who is also known as Agathodaimon. Also, I-M-Hetep is known as the first important builder in Egyptian history, as well as being a physician. Interesting.

Also, the Cuthites may be like the Cuthans, mentioned above, but they are also confused with the Cushites, or sons of Cush. The Cushites came from the Land of Cush, which is known to be Nubia and Ethiopia.

It is stated that these Cuthites migrated from Egypt, to Syria, to the Euphrates. Also it is said that the Aith-Opes or Ethiopians migrated to Greece, and brought the rites of Serpent worship with them. Also, in connection with this it is said that Erectheus is the individual responsible for bringing the rites of Eleusis to Greece, to Athens. Now, could these Cuthites be connected with the Babylonian Priests we have spoken of, i.e., the Nergals of Cutha? Perhaps. We know that about 43 miles north of Baghdad on the west bank of the Tigris river is the location of the ancient city of Opis, where at least two crucial events took place. First, this is where the Persians, under the command of Cyrus, overthrew Babylon and claimed the whole area as a satrapy. Second, this is where Alexander the Great was said to have invited dignitaries from all over his empire for the purpose of feasting and so that he could consolidate them all together and proclaim his New World Order.
