Report: Smart Transportation Systems Pose ‘Profound’ Privacy Risks

[David Icke]: Governments are collecting lots of data on the people using roads, trains and buses, and without proper oversight, that information could easily be misused.

As Americans hand over more of their personal data to use public transportation systems, the government must do more to ensure their privacy is being protected, according to a recent report.

The rise of smart cities has connected more public infrastructure to the internet, creating numerous opportunities to collect data on the people using the country’s roads, subways and buses. While cities could use real-time tracking to reduce congestion and improve transportation systems, researchers at IDC worry those practices could also render anonymity a thing of the past...read more>>>...

Police To Use TSA-Style Scanners To Spy On People In Public Places

[David Icke]: TSA-style body scanners are coming to public spaces, and that should scare the hell out of everyone.

If you thought the NYPD's Z-Backscatter vans and police mini-Z's were intrusive, you have not seen anything yet.

Soon, nowhere will be safe from Big Brother's prying eyes, as police prepare to use HEXWAVE to spy on people in public spaces.

Last week the Salt Lake Tribune revealed that the Utah Attorney General and law enforcement are partnering with Liberty Defense, a 3D image scanning company that makes its money from scanning the public in real-time. (3D means capturing rich information (size, shape, depth) about the detection space. It can detect any material that has a physical form.)

Let's start with their name — calling yourself Liberty Defense is an affront to liberty-minded Americans who do not want to be secretly spied on by Big Brother. Their tag line "Protecting Communities And Preserving Peace of Mind" is the exact opposite of what this device does.

Any device that is used to spy on the public is just that: a surveillance device. It is not a Defense of our Liberty.

As Fox Now 13 reported, police will use Liberty Defense's, HEXWAVE to spy on people at mass gatherings like concerts, malls and stadiums.

"HEXWAVE could be deployed at mass gatherings like concerts, malls, stadiums, public transit stops and government buildings" Bill Riker, Liberty Defense's CEO, said...read more>>>...

WARNING: Google Chrome browser scans all the files on your computer, including private photos, documents and spreadsheets

Natural News:Google Chrome, is scanning personal computers around the world is nothing short of infuriating for its users. Big Brother is here — and countless numbers of people have invited this authoritarian presence (in one form or another) while being none the wiser. Indeed, some of the world’s largest corporations (like Google and Amazon) are continuing to find new ways to invade user privacy.

In addition to a spying web browser, devices like Google Home and the Amazon Echo (and Alexa) are going places where the prying eyes of corporate interests have never gone before. Worse still, they’ve convinced us to willingly purchase these devices and place them in our homes. People are actually paying for the “privilege” of being spied on — all the while turning a blind eye to the total invasion of privacy for the sake of “convenience” and keeping up with the Jones’.

Google Chrome has become the trendy browser of choice, but not without a cost to users. A shocking report recently revealed that a series of “updates” to Chrome gave it the ability to scan all the files on Windows computers. It may be the browser so-called security pros suggest, but as it turns out, Chrome’s security blanket may just be a ruse so they can take your information for themselves....read more>>>...

Spying street lights equipped with microphones, Wi-Fi detectors and more coming to a city near you

Soon, spying street lights equipped with ShotSpotter microphones will be in every city and town, that's because GE lighting and ShotSpotter (SST) are working together to spy on everyone.

Last year, GE and SST announced they're combining forces to put SST surveillance devices into street lights.

A memorandum of understanding between GE Lighting and SST, Inc., developer of the ShotSpotter crime detection and location suite, lays ground to embedding sophisticated SST technology into GE’s intelligent LED street lights.

“We’ve entered an era where lighting is so much more than illumination,” says Rick Freeman, Global Product General Manager, Intelligent Devices, GE Lighting. “The ecosystem we are building with our Intelligent Environments for Cities solution is transforming street lighting into the analytical brain of urban life, and this MOU with ShotSpotter gives one more option for cities to unlock new potential benefits for their city teams and their residents.”

We've entered an era where lighting is so much more than illumination? If they're talking about spying on an entire population, then I guess they're right. What are the potential benefits to residents? Fear and control are two things that come to mind, more on that below.
