Colossal “Hybrid Storm” set to drop over 69 TRILLION gallons of rain on the United States

According to a report from The Most Important News, a hybrid storm is pouring extraordinary volumes of rain across the central United States, as the remnants of two hurricanes collide with a powerful upper-level low and set the stage for days of flooding.

Meteorologist Ryan Hall has estimated that from Sunday through next Wednesday, 69 trillion gallons of rain will fall on the country. Severe flooding is already underway in the Southwest, where leftover tropical moisture is meeting another storm moving in from the west.

AccuWeather described a major flood event unfolding across the southwestern and central United States just days after some of the same ground was already soaked. New Mexico has taken some of the worst of it. Floodwaters breached a 20-foot dam wall in the south of the state on Tuesday and poured into the rural community of Garfield. Video showed the inundation after the breach. Earlier that day, the National Weather Service issued a flash-flood emergency after dam operators and county officials warned that failure at McLeod Dam in Doña Ana County was imminent, and residents nearby were ordered to evacuate.

CBS News reported that rain fell in parts of the Southwest at rates as high as 4 inches an hour, and that more than 60 flash floods were recorded from Monday into Tuesday night.

Roads in southern New Mexico flooded, trapping drivers until the water receded. Pumps were brought in to ease pressure on the dam. Flood watches were later issued for Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, with relentless rain expected over the next 48 hours.

The storm itself will eventually pass. The larger pattern behind it has not peaked. Climate scientist Daniel Swain has said this El Niño is so extreme that existing labels fail. “Well, this one is shaping up to be monstrous,” Swain said....<<<Read More>>>...

Earth’s life-support systems are failing, with seven of nine planetary boundaries now breached, scientists warn in a global assessment that says time to reverse course is running out.

The Planetary Health Check 2026, written by more than 60 international researchers, examined climate change, ocean acidification, stratospheric ozone, land-system change, biosphere integrity and other measures. Four sit in the high-risk red zone, three in the increasing-risk yellow zone, and only two remain in the safe green zone.

“The impact of transgressing planetary boundaries are becoming increasingly clear all around us,” the report says. “Results published in the last year show that climate change is progressing faster than previously expected, causing unprecedented heatwaves on land and in the ocean and fuelling destructive extreme weather events.”
 

It cites the worst mass bleaching of tropical coral reefs on record, a credible risk of a shutdown of the main Atlantic overturning circulation even under low- to medium-emission paths, and signs that major Antarctic ice masses may already be sliding into the sea.

“With seven out of nine boundaries transgressed, we have pushed Earth outside of its Safe Operating Space – meaning that we are turning Earth from a safe home into one full of hazards that threaten people across the world,” the authors write.

Red means severe, irreversible damage to key planetary functions is likely. Climate change is in that category, as is the flood of “novel entities”—plastics, synthetic chemicals, pesticides and other pollutants. Biochemical flows, the disruption of nature’s nutrient cycles, are also red. So is the biosphere: a large loss of species, ecosystems and the functions that sustain life.

Yellow covers freshwater systems, land use and ocean acidification. Only ozone-layer thinning and atmospheric aerosol loading remain green.

The Amazon is near a critical threshold. If it tips, “up to 70 per cent of the Amazon forest could transition from lush rainforest to dry tropical savanna,” writes lead author Professor Carlos Nobre of the University of São Paulo.

That would release hundreds of billions of tons of carbon dioxide, wipe out countless species and shake climate, food, water and health worldwide. “Besides an ecological catastrophe, losing the Amazon would be a moral injury: a sign that we had allowed one of Earth’s great living worlds to disappear under our care.”...<<<Read More>>>...

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates warned that artificial intelligence is already powerful enough to trigger events that could kill a billion people—joining a growing line of tech leaders sounding the alarm on existential risk.

“AI is certainly powerful enough to drive events that, you know, cause a billion deaths,” Gates said in an excerpt of an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press, scheduled to air this weekend. “There’s never been a weapon as powerful as the combination of people with ill intent using the latest AI tools.”

The remarks land as Silicon Valley’s own ranks have grown louder. Jacob Coxon, a staffer at Anthropic, quit earlier this month and accused both Anthropic and OpenAI of “gambling with our lives” by “racing toward super-intelligent AI.” Another Anthropic employee said he sees a greater-than-10 percent chance that AI wipes out humanity within a decade.

Those warnings have pulled a long, bitter debate into the open and produced public demands for stronger safeguards. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has called for a slowdown in development, a stance quickly backed by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Elon Musk.

Fear is Overwhelming Us

No-one’s disputing that very hot weather can be challenging, even dangerous, for some people. But I’ve been fascinated by the news coverage of the heatwave over the last week or so, largely because I’m currently touring in the American West, as I often am. Reading the British news one could be forgiven for thinking the country was on the brink of destruction.

However, it also links into an accumulating culture of fear which is having a paralysing effect on wider society. It’s been developing for years, driven not only by a news media craving stories, but also government seeking ever more control over our lives, and a vast industry capitalising on promoting fear to sell solutions, reassurance and ‘peace of mind’.

Out here the weather is seriously dangerous in ways most of we Brits have little or no idea. About two weeks ago I was driving across South Dakota into North Dakota through epic downpours that were like carwashes for the gods, and in 80mph winds. But the place carried on, as we did. I drive around 10,000 miles in the American West annually and I have developed a healthy regard for the weather, without letting us stop what we’re doing. We simply adapt.

You might remember that in 2023 there was a heat dome over Texas. Since we were due to fly into Dallas Fort Worth, we were a little worried, thanks in no small part to the tireless BBC that left us and everyone else with the impression that all Texas was about to be obliterated in a conflagration.

Naturally, when we rolled up, we found Texas was hot but in a 100% operational state. Everything was working as normal. We went about our road trip as planned. In southeastern Texas we visited a forest, lush with leaves and long green grass. We found a couple of nonagenarians, who in Britain would have been locked in a freezer to save their lives, out walking as they always did. We told them about the news in Britain. They laughed and carried on.

The interesting thing is not then the heat, or in my case the torrential downpour across the northern Great Plains on a remote and almost entirely empty road, but the fixation in the media and government to turn everything into something to be terrified of....<<<Read More>>>...

Hantavirus: News hype does not reflect reality

The “news-to-death ratio” is a concept introduced by Hans Rosling during the early days of the 2009 swine flu “pandemic.”

The ratio highlights the disproportionate media coverage of certain diseases, such as swine flu, while others barely get a mention, such as tuberculosis (“TB”).

For example, in the first 13 days of the 2009 swine flu “pandemic,” Rosling calculated that there were 8,176 news stories for every swine flu death compared to 0.1 news stories for every TB death.

Fast forward to today and, as far as the news-to-death ratio is concerned, nothing has changed.

There is a peculiar arithmetic that governs modern health reporting, one that has very little to do with actual risk. Hans Rosling captured it neatly during the 2009 swine flu episode, when he calculated a “news-to-death ratio” of 8,176-to-1. In other words, for every death attributed to swine flu, there were over eight thousand news stories. Unless you sweep mouse droppings in New Mexico, you have no chance of contracting hantavirus

 Public health messaging around the hantavirus cruise ship outbreak has been, “there is an extremely low risk to the general public.” This is misleading, some might say it is misinformation.

The truthful messaging should be, “there is no chance this will become a pandemic. You have no risk of contracting hantavirus, unless you decide to sweep mice droppings in New Mexico,” Vinjay Prasad says.

Ten years ago, this would have been natural. No one would be burdening the public with a discussion of whether hantavirus was once spread by saying “Hello.” The media would be broadly disinterested in the topic and would not cover it beyond the broader context of cruise ships spreading infectious disease, and being a supposedly fun thing I will never do again.

Of course, the covid pandemic has altered that. SARS-CoV-2, a new virus, had all the properties that guaranteed a global pandemic (Andes hantavirus doesn’t). With covid, the concern among many Sensible Medicine columnists was that our response choices – prolonged school closure, cloth masking kids, Paxlovid for healthy, vaccinated people, booster mandates for college students, or those who just recovered from covid – were pointless theatre, and worse: very likely, on balance, harmful. Psychological Bioterrorism: When fear of infectious diseases is weaponised to shape government policies and public behaviour

 Fear is one of the most powerful drugs ever invented, Dr. Robert Malone and Dr. Jill Glasspool Malone say. And when it is weaponised, it is psychological bioterrorism.

The latest example of psychological bioterrorism is the current media frenzy surrounding Hantavirus.

To protect yourself, learn to recognise when fear has become the product that is being marketed.

Unlike antibiotics or antivirals, it requires no FDA approval, no manufacturing plant, and no cold-chain shipping. Fear spreads itself. All it takes is a headline, a few experts on television, ominous music behind a news segment, and suddenly millions of people begin scanning their bodies for symptoms they did not know they had ten minutes earlier.

Psychological Bioterrorism is the weaponisation of fear about disease in order to manipulate individuals, populations, markets and governments. Sometimes the objective is political. Sometimes financial. Sometimes bureaucratic. Often, it is all three at once.

This is not a conspiracy theory. It is a recognised form of psychological warfare.

A virus or some other pathogen emerges somewhere in the world. The media shifts into apocalyptic mode. Experts appear to be predicting catastrophe. Computer models project millions dead, if the right circumstances coalesce. Politicians declare emergencies. Pharmaceutical companies announce new products. Social media turns into a digital panic attack. And ordinary people, who just wanted to buy eggs and walk the dog, suddenly feel like civilisation is one cough away from collapse.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

The latest example is the current media frenzy surrounding Hantavirus.

Now, to be clear, Hantavirus is a real disease. It can be serious. It deserves appropriate medical attention and surveillance. Rodent control around homes and barns matters, particularly in areas where the virus is endemic. Nobody sensible is arguing otherwise....<<<Read More>>>...

 In recent days, it’s been all over the news. The discredited World Health Organisation is attempting to justify its existence by managing a highly publicised Hantavirus “outbreak” on a cruise ship.

The whole debacle is reminiscent of the Diamond Princess in February 2020, shortly before WHO declared the falsified covid pandemic.

I seldom publish my thoughts in an article, so please note: This is an opinion piece. It is an article that is not intended to provide facts but is intended to encourage people to think for themselves.

The United Nations (“UN”), as most of our readers know, is a non-governmental organisation which the Rockefellers consider to be their own little project. And WHO is a specialised agency of the UN.

Currently, Channel 4 is pushing the hantavirus narrative. Reminiscent of the passenger liner, the Diamond Princess, during the early days (February 2020) of the covid PsyOp, Channel 4 has been attempting to raise fears about a deadly virus on the cruise ship MV Hondius, which is currently anchored off the coast of Cape Verde awaiting evacuation.

If you listen carefully to the words behind the hype, a suspected hantavirus outbreak has possibly caused three passenger deaths, although the cause of death has not yet been confirmed. Multiple passengers have fallen ill, although only two have been confirmed as carrying the hantavirus, so that bastion of honesty and integrity (sarcasm) the World Health Organisation (“WHO”) claims....<<<Read More>>>....

Fear, time preference, and the distortion of human action

Periods of crisis reveal something unsettling about human behavior. Faced with uncertainty, individuals and institutions alike tend to accept measures that would otherwise be unthinkable. Restrictions on movement, suspension of rights, and centralized decision-making often emerge not gradually, but almost effortlessly, as if they were the natural response to danger.

This pattern is frequently interpreted as a political or institutional failure. But such an explanation remains incomplete. Crises do not merely alter policies, they alter the very structure of human action. Fear — when intensified and socially amplified — does not simply influence decisions, it reshapes the way individuals perceive options, evaluate trade-offs, and act over time.

At its deepest level, fear is not just an emotion. As Martin Heidegger suggested, it reflects a fundamental condition of human existence, an awareness of vulnerability and finitude. Under ordinary circumstances, this condition remains in the background, allowing individuals to act within a relatively stable horizon of expectations. But in moments of acute uncertainty, fear moves to the foreground and begins to reorganize perception itself.

From the standpoint of praxeology, as developed by Ludwig von Mises, human action is always oriented toward chosen ends under conditions of scarcity and uncertainty. It presupposes a structure of preferences, a capacity to compare alternatives, and a temporal horizon within which decisions unfold. Fear disrupts each of these elements simultaneously.

First, it compresses the horizon of choice. Individuals become less able to consider long-term consequences, focusing instead on immediate risk avoidance. School Lockdown Drills Are Keeping Britain’s Children in Perpetual Terror

 Here comes April, and with it the blossomed pear-tree and the chaffinch on the orchard bough – or so Robert Browning would have us believe. In my Sixth Form college, spring is announced rather differently: heralded not by birdsong but by the now-annual Lockdown Training Session, a grim modern-day equivalent of ‘Duck and Cover’ in which staff and students rehearse what to do when a deranged gunman comes knocking.

The session, delivered simultaneously by subject teachers during period two on a scintillatingly bright Tuesday morning, begins with a tannoy announcement from the Principal. Adopting the calm voice of an aircraft pilot whose plane has hit unexpected turbulence, he reassures students that what follows is a wholly preventative measure and that the need for actual lockdown is vanishingly small. Students’ faces are fixed with wry smiles in a show of performative nonchalance, yet their steely eyes betray an attentiveness I can only dream of in my ordinary lessons. Suddenly, I’m transported back to my own youth in the 1980s, where the threat of nuclear annihilation provided a humming backdrop to video rental stores, Sony Walkmans and New Romanticism.

Next comes the 30-second blast of the Lockdown Siren: a bleating screech punctuated by a relentless “Lockdown! Lockdown!” that gets teeth grating. Meningitis: Media promoted fear vs reality

A recent meningitis outbreak in the UK prompted a surge of panicked headlines – followed by acknowledgement, and relief, that cases may already have peaked. What should we all know about this disease?

“Outbreaks are alarming, and fear is exacerbated by media reporting. But although meningitis spreads via close, prolonged contact … it is not highly contagious,” World Council for Health writes.

This month, a meningitis outbreak among students in Kent, England – linked to a nightclub in Canterbury – was the subject of serious concern. It tragically claimed the lives of two young people: a teenager and a 21-year-old.

The media coverage was alarming: for example, “The deadly delays in tackling meningitis outbreak,” The Telegraph said. And “experts warn of explosive outbreak … one of the fastest-growing outbreaks of the disease they have seen in the UK,” The Guardian reported.

Yet a few days later, the tone and content were calmer. The BBC announced, “Meningitis outbreak passes peak, says health agency.” Similarly, The Guardian went with, “Kent meningitis outbreak may have peaked as UKHSA reports slowdown in cases.” And the Daily Mail confirmed that “Meningitis cases fall as health officials reveal some people were wrongly told they had the disease.”

So, what are the facts about meningitis, and what do the statistics actually show us? (N.B. Information presented here is up-to-date at the time of writing.)

Meningitis is not a single disease. It’s an umbrella term which covers inflammation of the brain/spinal cord (the meninges).  

Most cases are not the dangerous kind. Viral meningitis is far more common and usually self-limiting. Bacterial meningitis is rarer but more serious. 

Overall risk is to the public is low. Total meningitis deaths (from all causes combined) are typically in the low hundreds per year. The meningococcal form – which is most associated with outbreaks among young people – accounts for only a small fraction of these. In England in 2023-4, there were 8 recorded deaths from meningococcal disease, compared with around 30 deaths in adjacent years. The case fatality rate may appear to fluctuate a lot, but that is a normal statistical volatility owing to the small numbers overall.  

Many people carry the bacteria harmlessly. Around 1 in 10 people may carry meningococcal bacteria without symptoms.  

Early symptoms are non-specific. These include common symptoms such as headache, fever and nausea. But severe cases can deteriorate very quickly....<<<Read More>>>....

The latest headlines suggest we’re heading for a doomsday scenario: ‘NHS ‘facing worst-case,’ says the Guardian. ‘Super flu strikes during perfect storm,’ headlines Sky. A “tidal wave” says the Independent, and health chiefs have warned there’s “still no flu peak in sight“, reports the Mail.

Covid Porn is Back

 The tireless hacks at the BBC have emerged from their bunkers once again to terrorise the public by bravely touring the hospitals and whipping up hysteria about the latest outbreak of flu. 

 It seems “literally hundreds” of patients have been bombarding A&E departments, according to Health Editor Hugh Pym and Chloe Hayward who have been courageously touring the front line:

As one patient leaves his room at Leicester Royal Infirmary’s acute unit, cleaning staff are waiting outside.

He is barely out of the room before the bed is stripped and bleach is sprayed. The next patient is already waiting to come in.

Over two days the BBC was given access to the hospital to witness first-hand how it is coping with an early surge of winter bug cases.

Flu season has hit a month earlier than normal this year, with experts warning there appears to be a more severe strain of the virus – mutated H3N2 – circulating.

Hospitals around the country, like this one in Leicester, are doing all they can to avoid becoming completely overwhelmed.

“Completely overwhelmed.” Sounds familiar?

They’re at the Royal Infirmary in Leicester, and after citing some choice case studies, miss no opportunity to make it sound like the end of the world is imminent:

“There are patients in every cubicle,” Consultant Saad Jawaid says, as Paige is wheeled in. “Another ambulance has just rocked up.”

We watch as he works with colleagues in the resus unit to find desperately needed bed spaces.

“When beds are full we have to move people – sometimes that means those who can sit are moved out of beds and into chairs,” he says.

Regardless of the situation in the hospital and the range of conditions people are turning up with, on closer examination it things aren’t quite as bad as the story’s florid copy suggests:

Richard Mitchell has been the Chief Executive of University Hospitals Leicester NHS Trust since 2021 – and has witnessed first-hand how it gets harder to cope with each winter that passes.

”We are already seeing very high levels of flu,” he tells us. He expects numbers to climb into January. “That is one of the many things I am concerned about at the moment.

“At this point I feel we are working at the limits of our ability.”

What exactly was he expecting? An idle coast through to April before going on a well-unearned summer break? It raises the interesting question of what people who work for the NHS think they are likely to be confronted with in 21st century Britain.

Project Fear is healthier than ever

 THEY never give up, do they?

Although I opted out the last time I got an NHS message telling me that because of my age I was eligible for a free flu and covid jab, I am still getting these texts. I have had two recently and this time I am ignoring them as clearly there is no point in going through the palaver of attempting to opt out. They just take no notice.

The message goes on that it’s best to get vaccinated as soon as possible although they don’t tell you why. Bending over backwards to be helpful, the message adds: ‘Contact your GP if you need a home visit.’

Great. Yet if I wanted to book a doctor’s appointment or home visit for anything else, I probably wouldn’t be able to. So how is it that doctors have endless time to jab people or even to make home visits, but none for proper consultations?

As a case in point, a friend recently broke her arm in two places, and her GP was informed. Has her GP contacted her in any way, arranged a consultation or a home visit? No. There has been complete silence, not even a phone call to ask how her recovery is proceeding.

We are endlessly informed that these vaccinations are the best way of protecting yourself from viruses that circulate over the winter months. So if the jabs are so good, why are even jabbed people going down with flu and what passes for covid every year?

The old excuse that yes, jabbed up you may still get flu or covid, or both, but not as seriously as if you were unvaccinated, is still being trotted out, and astonishingly, all too many people are falling for it.

At the same time as these urgent texts to get jabbed are being sent to every octogenarian’s phone, scare stories have been appearing in the media about a new covid surge. Hospital admissions are rising, we are warned, and no fewer than 3,049 cases of covid were reported in the week ending October 1. This is a very precise number, so where the hell did it come from? Or, more likely, where was it dreamed up?

The ‘experts’, whoever they may be, are telling us that two strains of covid, known as Nimbus and Stratus, are now proliferating and are highly infectious. Symptoms of these new variants include a ‘razor blade’ sore throat, hoarseness and nausea. These are exactly the same symptoms that characterise ordinary colds and flu, of course.

As it’s difficult, if not impossible, to distinguish between a standard winter cold and covid, it’s important, say some doctors, to take a test with a covid testing kit.

We are assured that you can still get these tests.  And certainly, you can.  They are now available in every pharmacy and supermarket, with prices ranging from 99p to about £18. In this way the covid industry rumbles on, picking up speed all the time. Covid tests, much like the vaccines themselves, have become a highly profitable worldwide industry, operating on fear alone. Last year the global covid diagnostics business recorded a £43.5billion profit....<<<Read More>>>...

Overpopulation myth: Propaganda is the reason for the sharp population declines facing most developed nations

 The Earth is expected to reach “peak population” before the end of this century, with most developed nations facing sharp population declines and ageing populations.

The reason for this decline is attributed to the fear of overpopulation, which was perpetuated by thinkers like Paul Ehrlich and led to the implementation of draconian family planning measures, including coercive sterilisations and abortions.

Many countries, including Japan, South Korea and Italy, are already experiencing population decline, and the world population is expected to peak between 2060 and 2080, followed by a decline, with significant consequences for the global economy and society.

The world is not overpopulated, AEIR explains. If the entire world’s population moved to Texas, the population density would be a little more than New York, much less than Paris and dramatically less than Manila.

Earth is going to hit “peak population” before the end of this century. Within 25 years, most of the world’s developed nations will be facing sharp population declines, with shrinking pools of young people working to support an ever-ageing population.

The reason is not famine, war or pestilence. We did this to ourselves by creating a set of draconian solutions to a problem that didn’t even exist. Two ethics professors at Western Michigan University’s Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine, Parker Crutchfield and Blake Hereth, have ignited outrage with a peer-reviewed paper proposing the deliberate promotion of ticks to trigger alpha-gal syndrome (AGS)—a red-meat allergy—to reduce meat consumption and combat climate change. Published in Bioethics, their “Beneficial Bloodsucking” argument frames AGS as a “moral bioenhancer,” asserting that inducing allergies to cattle, pigs and lambs could ethically “prioritize planetary health over personal choice.” The controversial stance has drawn sharp criticism, with opponents calling it a dangerous confluence of pseudo-science and ideological overreach.

Crutchfield and Hereth argue that since consuming meat is “morally impermissible” due to climate impacts, policy should support proliferating lone star ticks (the primary vector for AGS) to deter meat-eating by causing allergic reactions. They advocate genetic editing of ticks to enhance their ability to transmit alpha-gal, the sugar molecule in tick saliva that triggers AGS. The paper states: “If promoting tickborne AGS prevents the world from becoming a significantly worse place, it is pro tanto obligatory.”

The idea hinges on three premises: It avoids infringing rights, promotes “virtuous” behavior (meat reduction) and combats climate change. However, critics dismiss these claims as reckless, noting AGS’s severe health risks. Unlike food allergies alone, AGS can cause fatal reactions to common medications containing alpha-gal, such as the cancer drug cetuximab and the anticoagulant heparin.
