Can The Universe Be Someone’s Brain?

If you visit the Internet often enough, then you have probably seen pictures comparing the Universe with the human brain.

And it does not mean its soft and sinuous gray matter. We are talking about microscopic connections between his nerve cells which are known as “neurons”.

And indeed, if you look closely at the panoramic portrait of the universe, it becomes obvious that it is strikingly similar to an enlarged snapshot of the neurons found in the human brain....<<<Read More>>>...

The True Measure of Intelligence: The Radius of Your Compassion

Let me begin with a simple observation that has shaped my entire worldview: the real measure of intelligence is not your IQ score, not your SAT results, and certainly not the number of patents you hold. The true measure of intelligence is the radius of your circle of compassion for all sentient beings.

I have seen genius-level physicists who cannot hold a conversation with their own children. I have met highly educated doctors who prescribe toxic pharmaceuticals without a second thought about the long-term harm they cause. Their specialized knowledge exists within a narrow bubble, but their compassion radius is barely large enough to include themselves. This, I submit, is a profound form of stupidity.

As I wrote years ago, our modern definition of intelligence is seriously lacking; we label someone as high-IQ when they excel in narrow fields like particle physics or pharmacology, yet they are unable to see the bigger picture of human health and ecological interconnectedness. [1]

Compassion is not a soft, sentimental feeling. It is the highest expression of cognitive capacity because it requires you to recognize that other beings -- human, animal, plant -- have their own subjective experiences and intrinsic value. That recognition demands that you step outside your own ego and perceive reality from multiple perspectives. The narrower your circle, the lower your true intelligence. The wider it grows, the more you align with the fundamental truth of our universe: we are all connected. And all life has intrinsic value...<<<Read More>>>...

The Best Thing for England is Still Britain

Clive Pinder’s essay in the Daily Sceptic last weekend on English independence is sharply argued and often very funny. Suppose he’s right.

Suppose the United Kingdom really has become, as he characterised it, “an exhausted multinational holding company held together by inertia, nostalgia, transfer payments and the BBC weather map”. Suppose Scotland really does vote like a Nordic social democracy, Wales like its run by public-sector socialists and Northern Ireland like a theological argument attached to a motorway network. Suppose England really does carry most of the economic weight, only to be lectured by its own governing class for the impertinence of noticing.

Suppose the diagnosis is exactly right: Pinder has pinpointed the rot accurately. He has then drawn precisely the wrong conclusion from it.

The first thing he gets wrong is the confusion of the British state with the British settlement.

The state is the political class, the supranational creep, the regulatory accretion, the judicial activism, the BBC, the Civil Service that signed off tens of billions of pandemic-era fraud and waste without anyone in particular being held to account. The settlement is the 1707 Acts of Union, the shared Crown, the common law, the Parliament, the British identity built across three centuries on top of those. The state has spent the past three decades betraying the settlement. The settlement has held up rather better than the state has — through industrial revolutions, two World Wars, the loss of empire, devolution and Brexit. Its institutions still work. Dissolving the settlement to fix the state is amputation on the theory that a missing leg is less trouble than a sore knee....<<<Read More>>>...

An Update On Things

So, here is how it is. The damn annoying cough still persists. Its presence is annoying and appears to be unrelenting. Energy levels are now lifting slowly, especially now my appetite is returning. However, the bouts of coughing fits are wearing me down and there seems no end to their existence.

At some point each day the coughing appears to cease, and the acquired mucus shifted. Hope is on the horizon at these points, but hope is soon dashed when the cough fires up again.

Several times the bouts have been so persistent I begin to panic that I will not be able to stop the coughing bout!

There now appears no other symptoms .... a mucus build up and a persistent cough. Tiredness is due to my immune system going in overdrive. Plus there is also the production of stress hormones that put blood sugar levels right up.

I've been extrenly patient with all of this annoyance. Working from home since Monday, with Monday being the day I was due to return to work from the Xmas Break. I made it into work on Wednesday for a few hours, but had to concede to exhaustion and a concern I was passing pathogens to work colleagues.

I'm currently sitting here, typing, with no cough but I know as soon as I move, or go to bed .... the cough will commence again.

In all of this, thanks for your patience, posts are rare at the moment ... but hopefully soon it will change.

Just As We Said -----

Just as said .... it didn't take Blogger long to take this post down due to its truth violating its community guidelines.

It just proves that there are still agencies and forces out there determined to bury the truth of what was forcibly (And willingly) given to billions of human beings a few years ago.

Agencies are still afoot that are determined to hide what is happening ...

Another well written article concerning the poisonous jab that has been unleashed on mankind; and the possibility of another round of scaremongering ....

Bubbles that break rules: A fluid discovery that defies logic

A team led by researchers at UNC-Chapel Hill have made an extraordinary discovery that is reshaping our understanding of bubbles and their movement. Picture tiny air bubbles inside a container filled with liquid. When the container is shaken up and down, these bubbles engage in an unexpected, rhythmic "galloping" motion — bouncing like playful horses and moving horizontally, even though the shaking occurs vertically.

This counterintuitive phenomenon, revealed in a new study published in Nature, has significant implications for technology, from cleaning surfaces to improving heat transfer in microchips and even advancing space applications.

These galloping bubbles are already garnering significant attention: their impact in the field of fluid dynamics has been recognized with an award for their video entry at the most recent Gallery of Fluid Motion, organized by the American Physical Society.

"Our research not only answers a fundamental scientific question but also inspires curiosity and exploration of the fascinating, unseen world of fluid motion," said Pedro Sáenz, principal investigator and professor of applied mathematics at UNC-Chapel Hill. "After all, the smallest things can sometimes lead to the biggest changes."...<<<Read More>>>....

A Return to the Groove

 Dear Spiritual Diary,

Today was a really significant day. A very pleasing day in truth. A day when 'put on the old boots that had been hung up on the wall' and reconnected with the other world. A world where a number of beloved and missed relations by my clients made a strong connection with me.

A few reminiscent memories from them of favourite drinks and favourite foods; recognisable sayings and quirps and undeniable evidence of their successful transition from our world to theirs.

It was just like old times. The ease of connection and involvement in the consultation. It was very much a return to the old groove.

Very pleasing and not a total surprise on my part. With certainty today marks a return to old pastures ... as it is clear the other world will now send more people to me.

Doctor Who “Faces Axe while Lead Actor is on Verge of Quitting Amid Drop in Ratings and Fan Fury at Woke Storylines”

Doctor Who is reportedly facing the axe, while lead actor Ncuti Gatwa is said to be on the verge of quitting amid a huge drop in ratings and growing fan fury at woke storylines. The Mail has the story.

The long-running sci-fi show has suffered a huge drop in ratings of late, with fans said to be fed up of the injection of woke storylines.

The Scottish actor, 32, joined the show in 2023 after Jodie Whittaker bowed out as the Time Lord, but it’s rumoured that he’s set to walk away from the BBC show after just two seasons.

According to reports, a decision on the show’s future will only be decided by bosses once Ncuti’s second series hits screens later this year.

It is thought that Ncuti has already filmed his regeneration exit scene, with crews allegedly fearing that this could spell the end of the series after a whopping 62 years....<<<Read More>>>....

Multipolar Traps: Why Good Intentions Aren't Enough for Systemic Change

Understanding these traps is crucial for anyone interested in creating meaningful social change, as they explain why good intentions alone often fail to solve systemic problems.

A multipolar trap occurs when multiple independent actors, each making decisions for their own survival or success, collectively create outcomes that harm everyone – including themselves - usually as they seek short term gains. The “multipolar” bit refers to the fact that there is more than one actor engaging in this behavior.

What makes these situations particularly perplexing is that people often clearly see the damage they're causing but cannot entirely stop without putting themselves at a serious disadvantage.

Consider social media platforms and content creators, who find themselves caught in an attention arms race. While everyone involved would prefer to create and promote meaningful content, the competitive nature of the attention economy forces them to use increasingly aggressive tactics to capture viewers' attention...<<<Read More>>>...

America’s Deep Roots in Naturalism

With today’s discussions of climate change and ecology it is interesting to reflect that the beginning of the US democratic Republic was actually based on philosophical concepts that mirror some of today’s more progressive and forward-thinking ideas, like nondualism.

Generally, people think of the “founding fathers” as Puritans who fled England to avoid religious persecution and that America was founded on “Christian values.” But the truth is a bit more nuanced and interesting.

In The American Soul: Rediscovering the Wisdom of the Founders, Jacob Needleman delves into the spiritual struggles and aspirations of key figures like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln, presenting them as seekers of a higher truth rather than mere political leaders....<<<Read More>>>....

The true, hidden origin of the so-called ‘Hard Problem of Consciousness’

Philosophers of mind talk much about the so-called ‘Hard Problem of Consciousness.’ But is it a real, objective problem to be solved, or just the subjective reflection of a confused way of thinking? And in the latter case, where and how, precisely, does the problem arise? In this essay, you will be surprised at how obvious and quaint the thought error is that underlies the hard problem, and flabbergasted that so many otherwise smart, educated people can consider the whole business a mystery of some sort.

To see why Physicalism fails to explain experience, notice that there is nothing about physical parameters—i.e., quantities and their abstract relationships, as given by, e.g., mathematical equations—in terms of which we could deduce, in principle, the qualities of experience. Even if neuroscientists knew, in all minute detail, the topology, network structure, electrical firing charges and timings, etc., of my visual cortex, they would still be unable to deduce, in principle, the experiential qualities of what I am seeing. This is the so-called ‘hard problem of consciousness’ that is much talked about in philosophy....<<<Read More>>>...

Did Tobacco Affect the End of the Monarchy and Rise of Capitalism?

Thomas Hariot was an English mathematician, astronomer, and explorer who was part of the Roanoke Colony expedition in 1585. During his time in what is now North Carolina, he made several important observations and discoveries.

He went to Virginia at the behest of Raleigh.

His work was later published in "A Brief and True Report of the New Found Land of Virginia" in 1588, which became an important source of information about the Roanoke Colony and the native inhabitants of the region. Hariot's observations were groundbreaking for their time, combining scientific observation with anthropological documentation.

But here is what got my attention. Hariot was instrumental in introducing tobacco to European society and documenting its properties. During his time in Roanoke, he was one of the first Europeans to extensively observe and record the use of tobacco by Native Americans.

My interest was piqued when I realized that back in the Elizabethan era tobacco was purported to have many of the properties we now attributed to marijuana. This is what took me even further in my research as it seemed that this “magical plant” coincided with many changes in European society. I didn’t know it at the time but my tobacco/marijuana comparison was used by Bob Newhard in his comedy routines, and the author John Barth in the “Sot Weed Factor.”...<<<Read More>>>...

The Art of Deception

The man sitting across the table from you is known for trickery. He is a stage magician. You know he employs trickery, so he tells you he is going to do a card trick in which he can't possibly manipulate the cards. In this trick, you will do all of the card handling. He won't touch the cards at all.

He instructs you to cut the deck into four piles. You do so. He then tells you that you are going to randomize the order of the cards by shuffling them around and moving cards from one pile to another. Pointing to a pile of cards, he instructs you to take the top three cards and place them at the bottom of that pile. Then, take the next three cards and place them, one each, on top of the three piles remaining on the table. You repeat the procedure with all four piles of cards. The cards should now be very well mixed.

The man then begins his patter in earnest. He asks you to confirm the fact that he has not touched the cards. You agree. In no way could he have manipulated how you would cut the cards or handle them. Again, you agree. With a smile, he asks you to turn over the top card from each pile. You are amazed. The four aces sit at the top of each of the four piles of cards. For a moment, your mind might actually entertain the possibility that real magic has been performed, though you "know" you've been duped.

The fact is, this trick can be taught in a couple of minutes to any child capable of understanding the instructions. It requires no fine motor skills for clever card handling since the performer does not even handle the deck. The only thing required is setting up the deck before the trick is performed and being able to do a little sales patter in which you get the audience to agree to a statement that is blatantly false.

Take a moment and see if you can identify the lie that makes the trick believable. Everything the magician says is true with one exception. The trick is based completely on a facet of human psychology that most people--stage magicians, salesmen and politicians aside--don't understand. When a person is given a number of facts that are demonstrably true, they will tend to group all statements in that group together, agreeing to everything said, including an embedded lie....<<<Read More>>>...

Manchester City 1 2 Manchester United

Manchester United struck twice in the closing minutes to stun Manchester City in a dramatic derby conclusion at Etihad Stadium.

Josko Gvardiol's first-half header looked to be giving City victory in a largely dismal clash until United staged a remarkable turnaround to give new manager Ruben Amorim a landmark win early in his reign.

Amad Diallo was United's star performer, winning the 88th minute penalty that saw Bruno Fernandes equalise after the youngster was fouled by Matheus Nunes.

As City tried to regroup, Diallo then pounced in the closing seconds of normal time to score from a tight angle.

It was a rich reward for United boss Amorim after he ruthlessly axed Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho from his match day squad, but then suffered an early blow when Mason Mount was struck down by his latest injury, limping off after only 14 minutes.

Opportunities were at a premium in a game largely made up of desperate mediocrity, United looking to have wasted their best opportunity to equalise 17 minutes from time when Fernandes raced clear on to Rasmus Hojlund's pass, only to lift his finish over the onrushing Ederson but wide.

The game was turned on its head in that frantic finale, City's fans furious and jeering their side while United's followers celebrated wildly in their corner of Etihad Stadium....<<<Read More>>>...

Intense Solar flare activity: we are fast approaching the sun’s ‘battle zone’ — and it could be even worse than solar maximum, experts warn

The recent Schumann Resonance (SR) reading indicates a significant energetic white-out lasting four days, signalling a powerful reset in our energetic fields. This phenomenon suggests a thorough clearing of dense patterns and a recalibration of timelines. The graph illustrates intense clearing and transmutation processes, particularly affecting emotional and karmic layers, as evidenced by the prominent red areas.

Solar maximum has only just officially begun. But now, some scientists are warning that the sun’s activity won’t actually peak until after this explosive phase is over and we enter the solar “battle zone.”

This relatively understudied phase of the solar cycle, where giant coronal holes emerge on the sun, could end up being disastrous for Earth-orbiting satellites, which have exponentially multiplied since the last solar cycle, experts warn.

These energetic waves penetrate deep into the subconscious, shedding light on stagnation, unprocessed emotions, and outdated programs that are now ready to be released. This period of energetic upheaval is crucial for personal growth and transformation, as it encourages us to confront and let go of what no longer serves us....<<<Read More>>>...
