How Meta’s “free” AI assistant turns private conversations into profit

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has unveiled its latest artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, Meta AI. This tool is being marketed as a helpful digital assistant but is actually designed to extract and monetize users’ most personal data.

Powered by the Llama 4 language model, Meta AI engages users in natural conversations while quietly compiling intimate details about their lives, health concerns, and habits to fuel its advertising empire. Unlike subscription-based AI services that prioritize privacy, Meta’s “free” chatbot follows the company’s long-standing business model: turning users into products.

“Meta AI is built to get to know you,” the company declared in its announcement. But this seemingly friendly promise masks a far more invasive reality. According to The Washington Post’s Geoffrey A. Fowler, the chatbot “kept a copy of everything” by default, storing sensitive conversations unless users manually deleted them. Meta claims it offers “transparency and control,” but critics argue the system is designed to make opting out difficult.

Meta allows US military to use its AI

Meta will permit US government agencies and contractors working for the needs of national security to use its AI models for military purposes, the tech giant announced on Monday. The move should help American open-source models to excel over those from China and elsewhere, the tech giant has said.

The move is a departure from the company's "acceptable use policy," which states that its artificial intelligence models are forbidden from being employed in "military, warfare, nuclear industries."

Meta is "pleased to confirm" that it will share its AI models, named Llama, with federal agencies and defense contractors, including Lockheed Martin and Booz Allen, as well as defense-oriented tech firms such as Palantir and Anduril.

A Meta spokesman confirmed to the New York Times on Monday that the firm will also provide access to its AI models to the members of the Five Eyes intelligence alliance, which besides the US includes Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.....<<<Read More>>>....

“A First Victory Against Big Tech!” – Belgian Lawmaker Awarded €27k From Meta For Unfair Facebook ‘Shadowban’

 Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has been ordered to pay damages in the sum of €27,000 to a Belgian right-wing lawmaker for unfairly limiting his reach on the social media platform, otherwise known as “shadowbanning.”

The Antwerp Court of Appeal ruled on Monday in favor of Tom Vandendriessche, an MEP standing for reelection as the lead candidate for the Flemish separatist party, Vlaams Belang, in Belgium.

The court held that Facebook had unfairly censored Vandendriessche’s account, which currently boasts 234,000 followers, back in February 2021 and had failed to act “in accordance with the principle of good faith” and did not offer “sufficient procedural guarantees” for users who were subjected to such measures. His account was subsequently blocked in May of the same year.

Meta claimed it had acted in accordance with its community guidelines and accused the Belgian lawmaker of posting inappropriate content on the platform, leading to the shadowban. However, Vandendriessche was informed by the social media giant the ban had been lifted at the end of 2021, a claim he contested, as his organic reach remained artificially low.

No ruling was made on this claim, as the court held there was insufficient evidence to prove the account remained subject to adverse measures.

A metaverse future isn’t totally beyond the realms of possibility as tech companies like Mark Zuckerberg‘s Meta are spending billions on creating virtual worlds.

Zuckerberg thinks a lot of people will eventually be immersed in his virtual world within the next 10 to 15 years, where they will start spending money and living their everyday lives.

The Facebook founder has big plans for the metaverse and wants it to be so good you won’t want to leave.

The World Economic Forum and major corporations last month launched its “Defining and Building the Metaverse” initiative, with corporate stakeholders jockeying for a role in defining, developing — and profiting — from the technology.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) and major corporations, following talks at last month’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, launched a new initiative: “Defining and Building the Metaverse.”

As the initiative’s name implies, its stakeholders are still in the process of defining exactly what the term “metaverse” means.

However, according to the WEF, in part, the metaverse involves a moment “at which our digital lives­ — our online identities, experiences, relationships, and assets — become more meaningful to us than our physical lives.”

One person involved in the talks, Julia Goldin, LEGO’s chief product & marketing officer, expressed optimism about how the metaverse could aid in children’s development:

“To us, the priority is to help create a world in which we can give kids all the benefits of the metaverse — one with immersive experiences, creativity and self-expression at its core — in a way that is also safe, protects their rights and promotes their well-being.”

While the talks focused somewhat on how to definitively define the term “metaverse,” there was also a great deal of focus on who should be involved in — and potentially profit from — its development.

Those involved in the talks positioned themselves to “develop and share actionable strategies for creating and governing” an “interoperable and safe” metaverse.

Strieber’s account may be a synthesis: partly “true” (in that he believes it occurred as he relates it), part visioning, part somnambulistic dream state. Whatever emanates from the mind of Whitley Strieber, it originates from some realm outside of our Cartesian, materialist notion of consensus reality.

He reminds me of that other prophetic visionary of yesteryear: Rudolf Steiner, spent much of his life in a hypnogognic state, possibly without even realizing it.

Steiner and Strieber. Odd that. They are both talking about the same thing. The idea that the souls of humanity could be captured in a technological machine, where they would wander forever, believing they have omniscience, even Godhood.

Steiner called it The Eighth Sphere and warned that sometime in the late 20th century, Arhiman would incarnate in the west and drive a global process of harvesting human souls into it. The zeitgeist of radical material reductionism would dampen, deaden and dumb down humanity to its coarsest, most basic layers: meat. Our minds, what we think is our own consciousness, our souls, self-awareness even our freewill, it’s all just an illusion. Our experts say. It’s just something that happens when our brains gas off certain neurochemicals.

However…

We can take that illusion, what we call our consciousness, and pretty soon now (just as soon as The Singularity happens), we’ll be able to upload that illusion “into the cloud”, into The Metaverse and we’ll be able to experience anything we want, for as long as we want, forever.

What’s happening is we’re being herded into The Matrix. As I’ve written previously, in The Crypto Capitalist Manifesto, and here, that the core rationalization of the “You’ll Own Nothing And Be Happy” Great Narrative (as it is now being called) is that the rabble has to ratchet down its standard of living. The reason why isn’t about climate change or COVID.

It’s because we’re in late stage Globalism and the world’s financial and economic system is on the verge of imploding.

The people in charge, the people who’ve been doubling down on failed policies for decades, the people who brought us here with Quantitative Easing, ZIRP/NIRP, debt, Big Government and The Forever Wars, they want to stay in charge.

So they’re going to use COVID, Climate, Collectivism and Wokeness to herd the knuckle-dragging plebians into The Metaverse. That way they’ll be easier to control, they’ll be placated, and they won’t take up so much space in the real world.

The Danger of Living in Two Realities

[Natural News]: A video put out by La Quinta Columna reveals that Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) “vaccines” contain “nano-octopus” and other microparticles that have the ability to self-assemble once injected into the body.

Why ‘Metaverse’ is Big Brother in Disguise

 "Meta" is so obvious .... an attempt by the desperate parasites confined to 3D reality to trap gullible human consciousness in an sub-reality where once captured the consciousness will never escape.

These are the early days of setting the stage. The climate change scam will be part of the drive to entice the doubled jabbed trans-humans into the Metaverse ... where they can live in a paradise forever.
