The Gnostic Theory of Alien Intrusion

 Since the explosion of the ET/UFO phenomena in 1947, speculation about alien intrusion on planet Earth has been rampant. Half a dozen theories dominate the debate, but there is one theory that has yet to be examined. It did not emerge after 1947, but approximately 1600 years earlier. To be precise, the evidence of this theory came to light through a discovery in Egypt in December, 1945, although the significance of the find was not realized until — guess when? 1947.

In that year, French scholar Jean Doresse identified the Egyptian find at Nag Hammadi as a cache of rare Gnostic texts. "Gnosticism" is the label scholars use for a body of teachings derived from the Mystery Schools of pre-Christian antiquity. Gnostics who protested against Christian doctrines such as divine retribution and Christ’s resurrection found themselves targeted as heretics and were brutally suppressed by early converts to the One True Faith. This is the untold story of how the Mysteries ended. Since that signal year, 1947, some of the lost Mystery School knowledge has been recovered.

Gnosis (“inner knowing”) was a path of experimental mysticism in which the initiates of the Mystery Schools explored the psyche and the cosmos at large. Using psychoactive plants, yoga, and sex magic, these ancient seers experienced altered states and developed siddhis, occult skills such as clairaudience and remote viewing. Gnosis was a kind of yogic noetic science melded with parapsychology. In heightened perception, Gnostics developed a vast cosmological vision centered in a female deity, the Divine Sophia. The Gnostic creation myth is unique in that it includes a full-blown explanation of how inorganic alien beings came to be present in our solar system.

The Nag Hammadi material contains reports of visionary experiences of the initiates, including first-hand encounters with inorganic beings called Archons. Gnostic teaching explains that these entities arose in the early stage of formation of the solar system, before the Earth was formed. Archons inhabit the solar system, the extraterrestrial realm as such, but they can intrude on Earth. Interestingly, this Gnostic insight accords closely with the view of Jacques Vallee, who maintains that ET/cyborgs probably belong to the local planetary realm. Vallee also proposes that the ET/UFO enigma is a “spiritual control system,” a phenomenon that “behaves like a conditioning process.” (Messengers of Deception). Yaldabaoth: the First Self-deifier

 According to some early Christian texts, the creator is a blind, blaspheming, inept abortion. His blasphemy is a declaration of self-deification drawn directly from Jewish scripture: “I am God, and there is no other!” (Isa 45:22). Irenaeus, bishop of Lyon (late second century CE), believed that Christian Gnostics were guilty of blasphemy for positing a God higher than the creator. 

Christian Gnostics thought likewise about competing Christian groups who ascribed the passions of jealousy and wrath to the supreme God. God, according to a Platonic theology widespread in Late Antiquity, can only be good. It was sinful, therefore, to depict him as the author of belligerent punishments and the creator of “evils” (kaka) (Isa 45:7, LXX). The real blasphemy, in this view, is depicting God as jealous of humanity’s divine qualities and potential.

Gnostic Christians criticized their opponents by creating a kind of tabloid version of Yahweh, an exposé via exegesis, a rude unveiling of who the god of Genesis really is, in their view—an idol. Their new Genesis stories deconstructed the exculpating theologies of their opponents. The sometimes angry, autocratic, and jealous god of Jewish scripture is not hidden under a veil of allegory. Rather, he is depicted in living and lurid colors. His name is Yaldabaoth, aka Samael (“blind god”) and Saklas (“fool”).

Strikingly, these Gnostic revisionary myths depict Yahweh as a self-deifying king. The story of self-deifying kings was already part of Jewish mythology. Jews and Christians would readily think of Helel (Lucifer), the Tyrian tyrant, or Antiochus IV Epiphanes. These ancient rulers wanted to be like God, and in their putative vanity and hubris claimed to be divine. In their poetry, Jews had parodied these putative self-deifiers with mock dirges. Now the parody of divine folly was turned against the Jews.

Lucifer, who became Satan in Christian mythology, was the main, though implicit, template for Yaldabaoth in Gnostic sources. Satan or Lucifer was widely considered to be the primeval self-deifier who rebelled against the supreme God. In Gnostic mythology, however, the creator himself becomes the rebel against the real God. The New Testament is probably the most widely read book in the world. And yet it is also a book that is mysterious, and, at best, not fully understood. In some cases, this is because what the churches teach today no longer corresponds with what the New Testament says. This is the case with the nature and person of Jesus.

In other instances, it is not so much that the teaching has been changed, but that it has been lost completely.

This is true of the early Christian view of cosmology. It is peppered throughout the New Testament but has been completely overlooked or forgotten. The result is that many parts of the text are baffling or incomprehensible today.

Here’s one example – the angels. Today angels are golden-haired beauties who save you from car wrecks. In the US there is even a magazine, Angels on Earth, that is devoted to printing readers’ firsthand experiences of encounters with angels. It has a circulation in the hundreds of thousands.

But in the first century CE it was not so. Here is a curious fact: in the New Testament, the apostle Paul never speaks of angels in a favourable way. Examples: “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come… shall be able to separate us from the love of God” (Romans 8:38–39; biblical quotations are from the Authorised King James Version). “For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men” (1 Corinthians 4:9; emphasis added in both passages).

Popular Notions Concerning the Sidhe Race

(Sacred Texts): From the earliest ages the world has believed in the existence of a race midway between the angel and man, gifted with power to exercise a strange mysterious influence over human destiny. The Persians called this mystic race Peris; the Egyptians and the Greeks named them demons, not as evil, but as mysterious allies of man, invisible though ever present; capable of kind acts but implacable if offended.

Their power is great over unbaptized children, and such generally grow up evil and have the evil eye, and bring ill luck, unless the name of God is instantly invoked when they look at any one fixedly and in silence.

All over Ireland the fairies have the reputation of being very beautiful, with long yellow hair sweeping the ground, and lithe light forms. They love milk and honey, and sip the nectar from the cups of the flowers, which is their fairy wine.

Underneath the lakes, and deep down in the heart of the hills, they have their fairy palaces of pearl and gold, where they live in splendour and luxury, with music and song and dancing and laughter and all joyous things as befits the gods of the earth. If our eyes were touched by a fairy salve we could see them dancing on the hill in the moonlight. They are served on vessels of gold, and each fairy chief, to mark his rank, wears a circlet of gold round his head.

The Sidhe race were once angels in heaven, but were cast out as a punishment for their pride. Some fell to earth, others were cast into the sea, while many were seized by demons and carried down to hell, whence they issue as evil spirits, to tempt men to destruction under various disguises; chiefly, however, as beautiful young maidens, endowed with the power of song and gifted with the most enchanting wiles. Under the influence of these beautiful sirens a man will commit any and every crime.  The Forbidden Religion: For thousands of years Hindus have maintained that all creation, everything created, is maya, pure illusion, a trick. Seen through the eyes of the Spirit, all the work of the demiurge does not really exist and is nothing more than a big lie. The created world, as perceived by the senses, is the great obstacle which separates man from the real world. Man is not only misled by delusions of matter. The delusion of matter, created by the demiurge, has to be joined to the delusion of culture, created by man but at the service of the demiurge. Books, newspapers, magazines, cinema and television are some of the means used by the representatives of the demiurge to keep man hypnotized and obedient and to make sure he carries on acting like a sleepwalker, working, sleeping, wasting time and missing opportunities; never to wake up, just like perfect zombies or golems of the demiurge, serving a purpose which is not that of the Spirit.

All this mass confusion, this great maya which comes from creation and which is carried on by means of culture, is passed on in turn by fathers to their young children and later by teachers in schools. In this way, the slightest hint of the Spirit is annihilated from the day man is born. All rebellion, disobedience, opposition and all that comes from the Spirit is annihilated through punishment, threats and brainwashing.
