Beyond the hack: Ancient medicine decodes the persistent cough

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treats cough by identifying its root pattern—such as heat, cold, dry, or deficiency—rather than just suppressing symptoms.

Chronic coughs lasting over three weeks often signal internal imbalances or conditions like allergies or acid reflux, requiring a different approach.

TCM employs stage-based treatment, using targeted herbal formulas and avoiding foods that exacerbate the specific cough type.

Therapies like Tianjiu (summer acupoint plasters) are used preventively to strengthen lung function and expel deep-seated pathogens.

A holistic TCM strategy addresses diet, environment and constitutional balance to provide sustained relief and prevent recurrence.

In clinics and homes each winter, the sound of coughing becomes a near-constant refrain. For many, a lingering cough is a frustrating mystery, often misdiagnosed as a stubborn cold and treated with over-the-counter remedies that provide little lasting relief. This common struggle is where the millennia-old wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) offers a fundamentally different path. Moving beyond symptom suppression, TCM practitioners engage in a form of medical detective work, classifying coughs into distinct patterns to address their root causes. This ancient, holistic approach is gaining renewed attention today as individuals seek sustainable solutions for chronic respiratory issues that conventional methods sometimes fail to resolve....<<<Read More>>>...

Agrimony: An ancient healing herb with modern uses

Agrimony (Agrimonia eupatoria) had been used by ancient Greek and Roman healers to treat wounds, digestive issues and liver disorders. It was a staple in medieval European monastic gardens and is known by other names such as "church steeples" and "sticklewort."

Rich in tannins, flavonoids, phenolic acids and coumarins, agrimony boasts anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. These compounds contribute to agrimony's effectiveness in treating skin conditions, reducing inflammation and combating oxidative stress.

Agrimony is known to help with diarrhea and IBS, aid liver detoxification, treat eczema and wounds, alleviate respiratory ailments and reduce inflammation and oxidative stress.

Beyond its medicinal applications, agrimony’s mildly bitter, earthy flavor makes it suitable for herbal teas, infused honey and nutrient-rich broths, offering both flavor and health benefits.

Steeped in folklore, agrimony was historically believed to ward off evil spirits and protect livestock. Today, it remains a versatile herb used in natural wellness practices, though consultation with a healthcare professional is recommended before use....<<<Read More>>>...

Chiropractor targeted by FTC for selling vitamin D, zinc to fight the coronavirus speaks out

[Natural News]: ST. LOUIS, Missouri, June 9, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — Amidst an atmosphere of sweeping censorship by Big Media and Big Tech, along with a smattering of government intimidation, a highly accomplished chiropractor has pledged to defend himself in a lawsuit levied by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) which claims he and his company, Quickwork LLC, have participated in deceptive marketing practices regarding the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.

“I’m not just standing up for myself, I’m standing up for my patients, I’m standing up for other doctors who have been oppressed and suppressed,” Dr. Eric Nepute told LifeSiteNews in an exclusive interview. “I just cannot let my children [and grandchildren] … grow up in a world where medical tyranny rules.”

The lawsuit filed by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) on behalf of the FTC charges Nepute with violating the COVID-19 Consumer Protection Act (CCPA) which was passed last December and renders it illegal “to engage in deceptive marketing related to the treatment, cure, prevention, mitigation, or diagnosis of COVID–19,” according to an FTC statement.

The FTC claims Nepute and his company deceptively marketed “products containing vitamin D and zinc as scientifically proven to treat or prevent COVID-19,” and as being “as, or more, effective than vaccines that are currently available.”...<<<Read The Full Article Here>>>...

CBD Has Unique Ability to Cross Blood-Brain Barrier

[Wake Up World]: The cannabis plant has over 400 chemicals and at least 60 different cannabinoids1 — chemical compounds the human body is uniquely equipped to respond to. Of the two primary chemicals, cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), only THC has psychoactive properties.

THC is the compound in cannabis triggering a “high,” whereas CBD has no psychoactive effects.

Both compounds, and other phytochemicals found in medical marijuana plants, have a long list of beneficial effects on health. Medical marijuana is a term used for the use of the whole, unprocessed plant or its chemicals to treat a medical condition.

With the exception of four cannabis-containing or cannabis-related products for specific conditions with a prescription, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not approved any “marketing application for cannabis for the treatment of any disease or condition.”

On the other hand, some states have gone ahead and approved it themselves for certain medical conditions...read more>>>...

Spirulina helps protect your liver and prevent diabetes – study

[Natural News]: Diabetes is a chronic disease that has become an epidemic around the world. Many people with diabetes are treated with antidiabetic drugs that come with harmful side effects.

For this reason, scientists continue to search for safer and natural alternatives to treat diabetes. Researchers from the University of Sfax in Tunisia and the University of Western Brittany in France discovered that spirulina – scientifically known as Arthrospira Platensis – is beneficial to people with diabetes.

Spirulina is a blue-green alga that is considered a superfood because of its rich nutritional content and health benefits. It is available in powder form, which can be added to smoothies, salads, or soups, or in tablet form, which can be taken as a dietary supplement.

The researchers carried out a study using diabetic rats to examine the liver-protective, blood sugar-lowering, and antidiabetic effect of spirulina. They hypothesized that supplementation with spirulina could help treat diabetes and reduce its complications. To test their hypothesis, the researchers first treated rats with alloxan to induce diabetes. Then, they either fed the rats with a 5 percent spirulina-enriched diet or treated them with insulin every day for 21 days.

The results of the study revealed that both spirulina and insulin treatments caused a significant reduction in fasting blood sugar and an increase in glycogen level. Treatment with spirulina also caused weight loss and improved liver toxicity indices. In addition, it reduced the levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) or bad cholesterol, total cholesterol, and triglycerides in rats. Moreover, spirulina supplementation increased antioxidant activities in the liver. These results suggest that supplementation with spirulina reduces blood sugar levels and oxidative stress in rats with diabetes. Spirulina also proved more effective than insulin....read more>>>...

Magnesium Puts Psychiatric Drugs to Shame for Depression

[Wake Up World]: A powerful clinical study shows that pennies worth of magnesium a day provides an effective, safe, affordable alternative to dangerous and relatively ineffective pharmaceutical antidepressants.

Depression is one of the most widely diagnosed conditions of our time, with over 3 million cases in the U.S. every year, and 350 million believed affected worldwide.1 Conventional medicine considers antidepressant drugs first-line treatments, including the newly approved injected postpartum drug costing $34,000 a treatment, to the tune of a 16 billion dollars in global sales by 2023.

Despite their widespread use, these drugs are fraught with a battery of serious side effects, including suicidal ideation and completion — the last two things you would hope to see in a condition that already has suicidality as a co-morbidity. For this reason alone, natural, safe, and effective alternatives are needed more than ever before....read more>>>...

New evidence shows dandelion root causes cancer cells to 'destroy themselves'

[S.O.T.T]: The leaves, flowers, and roots of dandelions have long been used in traditional medicine to treat digestive issues and urinary tract infections, and also to cleanse the liver.

The dandelion is actually loaded with vitamins and minerals such as: A, C, D, E and B complex, calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, zinc, manganese, copper, choline, and boron.

Previous lab results have shown that the use of dandelion tea on leukaemia cells have caused the cancer cells to destroy themselves, which is known as apoptosis. A highly concentrated dandelion root formula has successfully been able to kill leukaemia, melanoma, and pancreatic cancer cells in lab mice.

Dr. Siyaram Pandey, a biochemist at the University of Windsor, has been studying the anti-cancer properties of dandelion root extract for over two years. He began his research after being approached by oncologist Dr. Caroline Hamm; she was curious about the benefit of dandelion root after witnessing several cancer patients improving after drinking the tea.

"To be honest I was very pessimistic," Pandey said in a statement. "She said it could be coincidental, but it couldn't hurt to see if there is anything."

After receiving a grant to continue the research Dr. Pandey and his team have announced their plans for a more comprehensive study that will be conducted using thirty cancer patients who have exhausted all other avenues for cancer treatment...read more>>>...

Spanish government trying to ban acupuncture plus other forms of ‘alternative’ medicine

David Icke: Is it P.C. culture? Is it pushback from big pharma and their powerful lobbyists? Who really knows why the attempt to stifle alternative medicine is so strong. But, the simple reality is that, this is a growing problem the global community must contend with.

To be clear: just because something is marketed as ‘alternative’ (or natural) medicine doesn’t necessarily mean it’s safe or effective. But, governmental attempts to block public access to services like acupuncture is an enormously unwise overstep – something that the Spanish government recently enacted.

They banned what? Spanish government tries to prevent public access to alternative medicine

In a jaw-dropping move resembling a mix between censorship and blatant pharmaceutical-favoritism, the Spanish government recently took steps to outright ban “natural medicine” in health centers around the country. This appears to be in direct response to a recent plea from conventional scientists who scathingly accused practitioners of misleading ill patients.

In a letter to Spanish health minister María Luisa Carcedo Roces, these scientists also cited a few high profile deaths of cancer patients who opted to pursue alternative medicine techniques, relying on emotional currency to advance their agenda.

The glaring problem is that the Spanish government doesn’t clearly define what they mean by ‘natural medicine.’ However, they’re more than willing to include acupuncture in their proposed ban – a traditional Chinese medicine technique that has its earliest roots to at least 100 B.C....read more>>>...

However, to make the most of your daily cuppa, research suggests going for the organic kind, which has more antioxidants than the regular tea. The study, which appeared in the journal Biological Agriculture & Horticulture, linked these antioxidants to a bevy of health benefits, including a lower risk of disease and improved overall health....read more>>>...

More people are turning to herbal treatments as dissatisfaction with conventional medicine increases

Natural News: The field of medicine has made leaps and bounds over the centuries, but more and more people around the world are rediscovering the benefits of complementary and alternative medicine – and liking the results. To determine why this was so, researchers from Germany created a qualitative study with participants from three age groups.

The researchers took note of several key points. First, the participants use HM as a treatment for both acute and chronic diseases but not so much as a means to prevent disease. Using herbal medicine as a means to stay healthy was even less popular. As one participant put it:

“I try to eat healthily, but I do not take herbal medicine as a preventative care, for not becoming ill later.”

When asked what they use herbal medicine for, most of the participants mentioned diseases like muscle pain, cold, and the flu. They also turn to herbs to relax and to be able to sleep easier. HM is the first choice – the starting treatment before they opt for conventional medicine. As a testament to their trust for herbal medication, some of the participants even mentioned giving herbal medicine to their kids...read more>>>...

An introduction to thuja oil, one of the most popular Native American remedies

Natural News: Thuja oil, known to Native Americans as arbor vitae – meaning tree of life – was used by the continent’s first inhabitants to treat a multitude of problems, including coughs, fevers, menstrual complaints, headaches and other types of pain. Though this essential oil is not particularly well known, it is worth learning more about because it offers an impressive range of health benefits, including in the treatment of rheumatism and arthritis, skin problems, nasal congestion and emotional well-being, among others. Thuja’s potent antibacterial, antifungal and other properties make it well worth investigating...read more>>>...

Ditch your toxic-laden toothpaste! Here’s a natural way to control dental plaque

Natural News: Science has consistently linked oral health to overall well-being. How you take care of that hole in your face affects how well you feel in general. It seems strange, then, that people take care of such an important body part by filling it with toxic chemicals.

Most people have heard of chlorhexidine, the most common mouthwash ingredient in the market today. The media would have you believe that this chemical is completely safe, aside from having a powerful antimicrobial effect. However, several clinical studies have suggested that the effectiveness of this chemical in promoting oral health is limited at best..read more>>....

Natural medicine is NOT the “alternative” — for most of human history, it was the ONLY medicine

Natural News: When something is labeled an “alternative,” that means there’s something else that is considered the conventional choice. It’s interesting, then, that natural medicine is often stuck into the alternative medicine category.

After all, it was the only type of medicine available for thousands of years, and it remains quite effective.

Sadly, nature’s gifts were somehow marginalized as profit-hungry drug companies took over the medical field. What was once the norm is now the alternative. This can also be seen in the food industry, where the fruits and vegetables our grandparents ate are now referred to as “organic” and have a premium price tag, and engineered imitations have taken over the mainstream...read more>>>...
